is there a comprehensive list of all legal psychedelics in the uk?

How are DALT, 4-AcO-DALT and 5-MeO-DALT not covered by "any compound...structurally derived from tryptamine or from a ring-hydroxy tryptamine by substitution at the nitrogen atom of the sidechain with one or more alkyl substituents but with no other substituent."?

I wonder why peyote is legal in the UK? I know it is legal in Canada because the indigenous used it religiously, but why legal in the UK?

No clue. I'd hazard a guess it's because they're not widely used due to being a complete pain to prepare & most people only getting very mild effects. If something isn't popular then the UK government doesn't bother banning it. Hence it was only recently you could buy magic mushrooms in shops.

Plus pedro & the others are quite common in garden centres. If you banned them then you'd be making an awful lot of people criminals just for having a cactus sitting around their house even if they didn't know what it was.

Because in the DALT's the substitutions on the N atom are alkenyls not alkyls.

Be careful with that kind of thinking. I dunno about in Britain but around here, even the 'legal' RCs are illegal if they can prove intent to consume in most states
In the UK (as well as most of the world, I would imagine) if you get stopped by the police and you have a bag of powder on you then you are going to get arrested. Fair enough you probably won't be charged, but you will still have to put up with spending some time in a cell.

Some cause and effect reversal here I feel. It was the appearance of mushrooms in the shops which excited the red tops and which stirred the govt to their ridiculous tightening of the laws. Would have been delighted to be able to pop to the shops late 70s early 80s to pick up some psilocybin but it never happened.

You could do that untill about 5 years ago?

how bout the 4-acetoxy and 4-hydroxy (psilocin-related) tryptamines? If you're looking for psychedelics, why look any further than some 4-aco-dmt or 4-ho-met. And arent the 2c's legal over there? I'd suggest 2ce.

it seemed a sensible starting point as I know i can get hold of them without too many problems. Also no danger of being arrested for their possession

I dont know about the UK, but in the US even if you have an uncontrolled substance, in a baggie, capsule, whatever, and a cop finds it, first they wont know what substance it is, second they will almost definitely arrest you.

However, if its something like 2ce/4acodmt you wouldnt get CHARGED

They're both class A in UK^

And yeah you will be arrested under suspicion of possession of a class A untill they test it.

All mono and dialkyltryptamine e.g DMT,DPT,DET,DBT,MET, etc are covered by the catch all clause covering tryptamines and so are the 4-Ho counterparts. The acetyl esters e.g 4-AcO-DMT are also covered as the UK MoD act covers all ethers and esters of controlled substances.

The MoD is equally restrictive in regards to phenethylamines and amphetamines, as far as I know the only ones which fall outside the catch all laws are the FLY and Dragonfly series e.g. 2C-B-FLY and bromodragonfly and also the N-Benzyl substituted phenethylamines such as 25I-NBOMe which have started to appear on the market are legal as far as my interpretation of the clause goes.
