The original Oxy 80s are here to stay and are cheaper

the M with the box (mallinckrodt) should be off shelves by now, and the only generics should be the Ethex brand ones, which are really just old purdue made ones. they look and act just like the old name brand oxycontin, thats because thats what they are!
 
Rusty has had back problems for over 25 years. After countless hours doing PT, yoga ETC nothing relieved my daily worsening pain so I went to a pain management Dr and now have been taking two 40 MG oxys a day for the past 3 years. I am also scripted 3---- 15 MG ROXIES for break thru pain

For me opiates saved my life. The pain I was suffering slowly ate away at my will to live because the quality of my life SUCKED.

I take my meds as directed but a few times a month I will CHEW my 40 to catch a little buzz.<3

Long story short, on the first of September I got a refill and it was the NEW OP 40's.


I found out that ETHEX was selling the original OC brand and wrote them an EMAIL. Here is what a rep from ETHEX had to say about the generic situation.8o


Dear Mr. Shackelford,

On behalf of KV Pharmaceutical, thank you for your inquiry. Our subsidiary, ETHEX, distributed a limited quantity of the authorized generic to Purdue’s Oxycontin® last October 2009. Only a limited quantity was released; thus, ETHEX is no longer distributing this product. You may be able to find the product at your local Walgreens pharmacy; however, since supplies were limited and they were distributed nearly a year ago, it may be difficult to locate a Walgreens that still has the product on their shelves.



Please discuss any further questions you may have regarding your medication and treatment with your pharmacist or healthcare provider.

the maw and paw places MIGHT have the old oxycontin formula, but they're not here to stay, they're actually only gonna be around for just a bit longer. and the maw and paw places don't like to buy expensive medicines to put on their shelves for nobody to come get. so its either that situation, or other people have already gone in there to get all their old formula oxy.
 
perdue has given walgrreens all of their stock of oc's to sell for them under the name ethex or apotek
