I'd heard a lot of folk talking about Chase n Status for years but never actually heard their music. They were on the tele at some kids festival like Party in the Park or T4 on the Beach the other day and they were fucking dreadful. Piss poor.

I enjoy psytrance. It's not shite, it's something that grows on you - especially after hearing it on a psychedelic. Also, it's quite difficult to find reasonably good psytrance artists. I'm more of a Dark Psy fan myself, but do love some good old Infected Mushroom.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1r15qSgDAo - This is a pretty decent dark psy track in my opinion although it would be much better through some proper speakers (rather than my built in laptop ones) and a few tabs of lsd.

My only complaints about psytrance are some of the voice samples used in tracks are incredibly cheesy and poor (on psychedelics they tend to just make me laugh) and some tracks can be very samey, although I find this with the likes of Hardstyle also at times.

I don't like any form of trance as far as I know. The psytrance is good when you're tripping argument is a load of shite. The same as the old school trance is good on pills shout. If it doesn't still sound good when you're sober then it's pish.

There's some truth in it, I never liked trance, thought it sounded shite. Heard some classic trance whilst on 2CB for the first time, sounded and made me feel fucking immense. Made sense to listen to it whenever I was on the 2CB or MDMA from there on in. Sober I wouldn't bother. It works well with euphoric drugs like MDMA and 2CB.

I must admit though, when I've spoken about my dislike of "dance / Electronic" music this was always the type of music I thought it was.

I like psy/goa (although nothing like the fullon commercial shit of skazi and the .il producers). I also like techno, hardcore/gabber, EBM, aggrotech, dark-electro, DNB, dubstep, punk, synth/futurepop, indiepop and indierock, antifolk, alt.rock, reggae and dancehall, industrial, electroclash, breakcore and a few other genres. Fuck listening to the same stuff all the time.

Some psy is good, some (most, these days) is shit. Same with most genres.

The thing is with all these sub genres of dance is that you can have good and bad. e.g i listen to hard house and I know what good hard house sounds like, unlike the cheezey wank that your friendly neighborhood pikey listens to. HOWEVER, to another person, it all sounds like fucking pikey disco, so...
