Really? Our brains must be complete opposites then because trazadone would knock me out cold during one of my many hospital stays over the past two years. Then again, I was also on I.V. dilaudid every hour and a half with oxycontin twice a day at that point so maybe that helped. About a week after I was out of the hospital, it stopped working. They had sent me home with some so I was still taking it, but after that it wouldn't work even if I doubled the dose. The hospital stay was in January and I've tried it quite a few times in the months after because I have, which my doctor believes is anxiety related insomnia which makes it hard to fall asleep and I have central sleep apnea so if I fall asleep, it is very hard to stay asleep for very long. I never did get a hangover from trazadone. I think the worst things for sleep for me are diphenhydramine and I have to say Lunesta because of the horrible taste it leaves in your mouth not only until the next morning, but i've had it do that most of the next day.
