Hi All. Brief background first. Have gone back to my shrink to battle my demons, which I am so glad for, talk therapy is so great for me right now. However, she put me on a Diazapam script for anexiety (it's the one that works for me).

The paper script was marked for 3 refills. When I picked up my first refill (after my initial script) I noticed the bottle read 1 refill before xyz date. This is one of the Major Pharmacy Chains. I spoke to someone in the Pharmacy and described the question. Her response (after making a *snort at the quantity count) was "Well, three refills, the initial was the first thids is the second and you have 1 left."

No other script I have shows this as the case. Has anyone ever encountered this? Is this a mistake or a deliberate attempt on their part to limit someone's CVI high count script? Did this person screw up and not want to admit the mistake? And finally, the script was a paper script. Do you think they scan those and have a digital copy of the original? I don't want to call my doc and ask about this and have it seem like I am obsessing about my valium. Its just bugging the hell out of me. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. And for ONCE in my life I am actually taking my benzos as prescribed! YAY!

A refill
Is where you get it again.
You got it back once.
So they fucked up for sure.
When it says one refill you get one extra.
When it says two refills you get two extra.
When it says three refills you get three extra.
Fuck that bitch.

Go back, tell them they screwed up, and if its Walgreens go to Jewel's its less than 50% of the price.

that is my thought

And yeah, it was that store. However my insurance has it pretty cheap. What I really need to do is have the script transferred to COSTCO, where it'll be even cheaper.

ive gotten fucked on this because the pharmacist says he couldn't make out how many refills the doctor circled when it was clearly 2. He said he would call the doc and when he did the doctor said he forgot how many he gave me and just told the pharm to gimme 1. The doc saw me 30 mins prior....figures

If the person was correct, then that would mean if your bottle said "1 refill" it would in reality mean zero refills...which makes no sense at all.

take your business and shit elsewhere and be sure to call your doctors office and tell them of the problem..if you have insurance then it will tell how many times you got the meds filled...if not the doctor can call the paharmacy and have them fax him the fill dates on the medicine...don't take any shit off that bitch..they work for you! The customer...!! let them know and ask to speak with the manager and be sure to inform your doctor or the recepsionist asap...don't take any guff off that swine bitch...!! Fight for your consumer rights damnit...fuck that pharmacy..start a letter to the paper type of thing and expose them if you must...be most importantly tell your doctor or his nurse/receptionist ASAP to keep that bitch from fucking you over anymore..she may have stolen them to sell or use and is trying to fuck you off!! Don't ever allow this!!!

mos def should have 2 refill left if started with 3. I always check my labels before i go...

atleast you can just call your doc and tell em they screwed it up. since you got proof.

Well that pretty much relies on the doc remembering what he originally ordered. He has proof of what is currently on the pill bottle, but not that 3 refills was the original rx.

I know my doc is awful at remembering. He'll say he's going to write a script, then walk down the hall and come back and already have forgotten. Just too many damn patients.

well from my knowledge and having been in the medical system longer than planned, most will have chart sheets refering to how many refills giving.

to prevent you coming in 2 refills early. Hell check and say well you should have "so and so many"refills left..

atleast if its up to regulations and law it should be. and its on record somewhere.

True, my doctor has a chart sheet. But I'm quite sure he has made mistakes on it. I know he's getting older, but his memory is shit. He literally walked down the hall after my last visit and forgot what he was prescribing. So I have no doubt that he's forgotten, or made mistakes on charts. I guess it depends on the doctor. Sometimes it works out, he once gave me two rx's in the same visit for norco. Write one in the exam room, walk down the hall, write another one, give it to me on my way out. W/e doc.

Wait, i thought you couldn't even get refills on scheduled substances anymore? I thought you had to actually have a visit with the doc to get the script. Or is that just a NY law?

If memory serves me, Schedule II = no refills, whereas higher III+ one can get refills.

edit: wiki says III and IV can be refilled up to five times in a six month period.

I just picked up my script for valium the other day which they always write it for 3 total fills. this time, I got the bottle and it says 3 refills on it (so 4 fills total) I thought it could only be wrote for 90 days total. my last script of valium was only 2 refills (so 3 total).

shed II can only be written for one script and you need to come back to doc.

shed 3 i believe can have up to 3-5 refills

and shed 4 can have up to 9...

i get 9 refills for my benzo and usually a few for my norcos.

You can bring your bottles in to the pharmacy. They will see that you had 3 refills one month, and 1 the next, which doesn't add up (and proves they fucked up).

If that doesn't work, then please go back to your doctor with the aforementioned prescription bottles and ask for a replacement prescription.
