Opioids Help with Suboxone

The other day i acquired a few suboxone tablets. I tried searching and searching bluelight but have failed (or not searched hard enough) to find a definate answer to my question. I have received mixed messages over the net about IVing suboxone.

First theory i have heard... The nalaxone, when injected, blocks the buprenorphines effects because the bio-availability of injected nalaxone is exremely high while oral is close to nothing. So the naoxone is basically "Activated"

Second theory...Even though the nalaxone gets "Activated" when injected the affinity of buprenorphine for the opiate receptors is higher than the naloxone renduring naloxones importance in suboxone pointless.

I have heard of some people injecting suboxone and saying that it threw them into instant withdrawel, assuming that they are physically dependant and are not in withdrawel at the time. Others IV suboxone regularly and report no withdrawel symptoms and even claim they get "high" from it.

Now last night i attempted an expiriment myself. I am an opiate dependant male 18 years old and use h on a daily basis. I crushed an 8 mg suboxone tablet into a fine powder mixed it with water and cooked it into a sludgy mix (Now i know i did not prepare this expiriment RIGHT, probably even the most WRONG way to possibly do it) i drew up about a quarter of the mix into a syringe added some more water to make it a little less thick and shot almost all of it. Saving 10ccs do to the fact that the last bit was way to thick. about 10 seconds after. I felt nauscious, started sweating ALOT! got a huge blood rush to my head like when you stand up way to fast and just felt horrible (It felt just like withdrawel) all simultaneously for about 2-3 minutes. Then after that i felt pretty normal with a few lingering effects like dizziness. My question is can someone please give me a few credibal answers about suboxone and the importance of nalaxone and maybe explain to me what might have happened to me last night. I am really tired of seeing so many contradicting statements on the web about suboxone and i jjust would like to know the truth. Thanks fellow bluelighters.

the naloxone is pretty much inactive since bupe has a higher affinity at the receptors, if you do IV it make sure to micron filter and start small (.2-.5mg)

yeah i dont really plan on iving subs. not really worth it. i dont have access to micron filters and i dont get any sort of euphoria with them. does anybody ever get high off them?

Buprenorphine has the higher affinity between the two, making Naloxone essentially inert.

I believe the reason Naloxone is added to the preperation is to allow it to be a schedule III medication (in the US at least), and thus allowing it to be used in a doctors office setting. I could be completely wrong, but this is a theory of mine.

What you experienced last night was precipitated withdrawal. The worst w/d known to man.
Search those two words and you'll find more information on it (and how to avoid it in the future) then you could imagine.

Also, do not heat pills. Opioids are water soluble. The heat allows binders and fillers to disolve into the solution.

The only reason I could see that shooting subs might benefit you is the higher bio availability. All the negative shit with shooting them doesn't seem worth that though, especially since there's no rush to it. I heard of some people claiming there was a rush to subutex but I personally don't know. I'm guessing you didn't wait till you were sick to take them. Interesting the precipitated withdrawals only lasted about 2 to 3 minutes.. Thought they lasted longer? hm

All of what you said was true, Foul Play.

Suboxone and Subutex have identical effects. There "can be" a rush with buprenorphine but it's not like shooting heroin, it's a very different experience.

Buprenorphine can cause euphoria in people with low/no opiate tolerance. This is key when using buprenorphine as a recreational drug.

Also, buprenorphine is a very potent opiate. You describe injecting an 8mg pill in one shot. At the rate upon which I use Suboxone, I go through an 8mg pill every two months or so. Using 8mg in one shot is complete overkill for anyone IMO.

When you have a higher tolerance, buprenorphine has less euphoric effects. This is why IV buprenorphine isn't advisable for everyone on Suboxone.

I shot suboxene one time when I ran out of free oxy's. I only did a little (less than 2 mg) and right after I did it, I felt odd. Not as bad as you, but my pupils got huge and my eyesight was kinda fuzzy and different, I started shivering, and I just felt weird. I was so scared that I was about to go into precipitated withdrawals, but 30 minutes later I was on my way to work and feeling great. The next time I tried shooting subs, nothing bad happened. I wont do it anymore since I don't have micron filters and I don't want to go through all that trouble when I don't even get high from IVing it. Now I just plug it, since I don't want to IV and I hate the nasty taste under my tounge or dripping down my throat from snorting.

I knew a girl that IV'd um Sub's and she seemed pretty content about it... But I mean just IV an oxy or Dilaudid or something, not stupid Bupe. get a lief

Gee what a helpful post! NOT! Oh, and by the way....it's spelled LIFE, not lief. LMAO.

OP....I know a lot of people IV Subs, but in my honest opinion, I think if you are GENUINELY using them to get clean, you should take them as prescribed, meaning sublingually. To snort or bang or plug them only adds to the "addict" behavior, which isn't the most healthy, again, IMO. Being a Sub user for many years...I think that taking them SL is pretty darn effective. The key is to NOT eat or drink anything for as long as you can after dosing, and like captain said...a lil goes a long way...it really won't serve much of a purpose to use an obnoxious amt of Sub, other than to up your tolerance, which isn't something you want to do.

While I've gotten a very mild euphoria from them, they aren't something I would seek out recreationally. If I am GOING to do something, it's going to be a Dilly, or oxy...something that will give me a full blown high.

when i iv subutex past year ago..im just use 2mg max...8mg is freakin out for iv...but for oral using, its make sense

thanks for all the info guys. definately answered some of my questions on suboxone. I also just found a powerpoint online made by a doctor who actually went to school for this who is credible and he just confirmed buprenorphines higher affinity for the receptors than nalaxone. Wow why do the pharmicutical companies waste there time and energy putting nalaxone in suboxone? Its amazing what big pharmicutical companies do to stop "Junkies" from abusing there medications without actually having to take responsibility and admit the drug itself is abusable and addicts will always find a way to abuse it. Such Denial.

Exactly, denial indeed.

Since I have micron filtered Subutex and Suboxone, I can even remark that Suboxone breaks down quicker in water, surprisingly enough. I even used more water for the Subutex. The effects were identical.

like Foul Play said, both of you went into precipitated withdrawals. I just wanted to add, though, that the reason it only lasted a few minutes was because precipitated withdrawal only lasts as long as your opioid receptors are having the old opiate ripped off. After that happens, the bupe is there to bind onto the receptor immediately, instead of nothing like when given naloxone for and OD.

This happened to me once when I IV'd 1mg of suboxone only 12 hours after I did a shot of heroin. I felt the 'morning-after' groggyness of the heroin, since it was wearing off, but figured the heroin was out of my system enough to take my sub. It wasn't. After 10 minutes, the feeling diminished and I started feeling the bupe kick in. Remember guys, wait until the old opiate is 100% cleared from your system before dosing suboxone!

I have never gotten the precip withdrawals from subs ever, even the very first time I got my script, I took my subs like 4 hours after an IV shot of smack before I even felt sick, I just didnt want to get sick first because I heard subs took forever to absorb.

Even now if I take an opioid and dose my subs as im coming down, there is no withdrawals what so ever, and now I even use faster ROAs.

I guess it just effects different people differently...

I've never had PW from IVing suboxone and I do it 4 times a day. The naloxone is not active any way you take subs. You just crush a small amount, 2mg or less, add 40 units of water, stir for a minute, add a cotton to filter, draw up slowly and your solution should be totally mud free and orange clear. Never heat pills. You probably just got sick from injecting sludge pill binders into your veins...
