I will also be in the same position, I don't have any marquis reagent, but I will be sending a small sample from the official and the unoffical batches to a friend to do melting point tests, and microscopies and maybe other tests.

Well Im going to give my offical sample to my partner now so I can fairly test the new batch. Im hoping the Marquis will indicate that they are same compound before I commit to ingesting

Ill try and video the marquis if I can and post a link here so people can see the reaction over time
 
Has there been any users reports of the unofficial batch yet? I have some and I marquised it. It went a browny orange with a little fizz, it then turned to a lite yellow (similar to metylone/mdpv) after 30 minutes or so. I have conducted an allergy test with no adverse reactions yet.

I havnt seen any actual confirmed reports yet although I've heard someone has tried it and it was similar, but less trippy than the official batch. I dont know if what I have is the same as what you have but I will be doing a marquis and (side by side) drop test this weekend all being well

@Sancho: don't do your substance testing on paper. I once wiped a plate full of Marquis/Mecke/Mandelin after testing a bunk pill and the tissue went black and dissolved. Not sure this is a general rule, but I think that if the medium you are testing on is paper or tissue, it will alter the results greatly.

@jibby jab: PLEASE do post back if you manage to consume your sample! It would be very interesting to hear at least an opinion on that batch baring in mind that no one that has acquired it has also consumed it yet [at least not from my knowledge]...

i should get a chance to marquis it this week when it arrives given that i receive enough for a decent result (only need ~10mg)
 
I don't want to be guinea pig if I'm being honest. I mite try some this weekend but what has been said in the advanded drug discussion thread has scared me off it. I may attempt a recrytalization of my sample first, but I need a copy of vogel's handbook and I don't know what solvent to use.

Im just worried that your discription of your marquis test doesnt sound like others I have read about for 6-apb, being that they were purple. Although if the truth be told theres no way of knowing if the stuff I have is 6-apb but in true 'Mullered' style I shall be testing regardless ;)

Edit - But I will marquis it first and it could go purple :)

The "official" samples that I received were definitely hcl - they dissolved completely in a small glass of cold tap water. Anyone saying they're freebase is talking nonsense... for a start I'm pretty sure freebase 6-APB is a liquid at room temperature, and even if it wasnt (like freebase cocaine for example), it would still be completely insoluable in water.

5-10 sounds about right but depends on it's strength (freebase vs HCL) i've only ever tested pills before and only small unmeasured amounts were used again it gets varied results depending on it's strength. any active compound should turn very dark blue/purple/black quickly under 10 seconds.

if it goes orange or dark brown then it's the same as the other samples people have tested.

I suspected it was MDAT/MDAI mixed with MDPV/bk-MDMA after I marquised my sample. It was a bright white crystaline substance. I also weighed my gram to be 1,077mg. But I now hope it's the impurities that caused the reaction.

well my last sample dissolved but it turned the water (~5ml) a yellowish colour and didn't look to have completely dissolved. it turned misty yellow
 
Also my sample smelt kind of fishy like mephedrone. The more I think about it the more I believe I was sent a different chemical to what I ordered.

Im interested to read this GTR, I am totally inexperienced in the world of chemistry and hence in the hands of my informers. The only thing I think I can say for sure is that I will know if this new batch is 6-apb when I try it for myself

Edit - mine disolved totally in water too so I suspect your right!!

Although there is no certainty yet on this matter, I am hoping my test result is purple, I might test 5-7mg to be sure

Sounds dodgy to me, but I would probably personally ingest it if I was in your shoes, but Im a reck-head and dont recomend you do the same unless you are totaly sure
