Sydney rave scene, where'd it go?

The whole thought of Utopia just makes me cringe.

I love my trance, but there is nothing worse then a bunch of young Kandy kids running around like it's their 1st time out of their baby cot.

On the other hand, I went to Trance Energy the other week, it was, by far the best event I have gone to... Was so impressed with ID&T, the whole production was awesome :D

If you're a fan of ID&T events, come to Sensation White for New Years, they signed a five year contract with Hisense Arena (formerly Telstra Dome, etc etc 8)

I find it fail that a thread about the rave scene is name-dropping large promoted commercial events.

POOP!

warehouse parties for the win.

Raves are out. Festivals are in (hopefully not for bloody long).

I wouldn't be surprised if Defqon 1 gets a shitload of people who are expecting an electro event - just because it's during the day and has the word 'festival' in it.

There was Channel 90210 underneath the M4 in Granville a few months back and I have to say it was the most epic rave I have been to. It just felt so spontaneous, alive and wild.

Here's some pics by a pro photographer

It was the best warehouse party I've been to but it was held outdoors hehe.

The channel parties are awesome or at least until the cops shut them down :(

how big is drum and bass in sydney?

and the rest of australia?

i used to be into hardstyle, but as i got a bit older i started seeing it as cheesy and boring.

People who are ignorant enough not to read the line-up deserve to spent $150 on a useless ticket. Hell, they can have mine :p

Hi There Cartoon Physics.
Sydney DnB is doing OK, a devout following but still some poor turnouts at gigs due to the saturation of other events on and it being a cold and sloppy winter.

Perth has teh best dnb scene in AuS.

check out www.bassfreqs.com to see events coming up in sydney.

without a doubt perth has best dnb scene, wish i took advantage of it more while i was there.
Going from clubs full for big name dnb artists in perth to rooms not even 1/2 full over east was a big suprise, mind u they seem to b gettin a bit more ppl in of late (at least gigs i been to).

Perth definately has the biggest DnB scene in Aus. Always multiple weekly local events, and a constant flow of internationals. Nero just played on Saturday, Instra:mentals playing Wednesday and the Wed after is Logistics =D

My sister who was big into DnB before moving to Sydney a few years ago says for some reason its just not that popular which is strange.
