yeah mate it was,I actually stopped before I clicked on submit post but when I thought about it what is actually the point in posting that reply,I love this site and I certainly don't want to be a hater but I didn't think there was any need. I really do appreciate the "ha ha ha" by the way,that was the general intent of the original post

Well glad Spain won it in the end. Most mathematical simulations had them wining it from the beginning. ( June issue of the IET magazine, you can access it on-line)

So who was the best player of the tournament for you? Forlan for me. Wish more players could combine skills with the leadership aura that he has.
 
Spain really deserves this one, a lot of tough matches but they've beat all the best teams in Europe and the world.

I'd say Casillas is the man of the tournament, with all the shutouts and all the extremely close matches, his play was absolutely flawless.
 
How fucking dirty were the Dutch?

Howard Webb got a couple of decisions wrong I thought.

Rightful winners in Spain, without a doubt.
 
If it were any other game, Holland would have had at least one player off in the first half. Spain deserved it in the end, fantastic goal by one of the players of the tournament, Iniesta was flawless all the way through.

I thought Howard Webb got it right when he booked Van Bommel for his tackle on Iniesta. But De Jong should probably have been sent off for the challenge on Alonso (although I prefer refs who are slightly too lenient to refs who send people off for fun - afterall, it ruins the game when one team go down to 10 men)

I'm glad Spain won the tournament - they play the game the way it should be played. And Iniesta should have been named the player of the tournament IMO.

Karate fighters don't wear boots with studs on. And their opponents can defend themselves (rather than concentrating on controlling a football).

It sucks that Brazil didn't make it to the final to play Spain. It would have been a much better game. But I still would have fancied Spain to win.
 
the flying kick was a highlight, if you are going to do a blatant foul in the world cup final may as well may it a spectacular foul.
