Mushroom season 2010

Forgot to mention, I enjoyed a stroll in a well known nature park on Thursday afternoon with a friend of mine. Had a quick scout for subs in the typical substrates and despite very large mushrooms of other species there were no subs to be found. Not long before we reched the end of the circuit and were getting towards the exit, I look down and theres subs right at my feet! Was particularly odd because they were in grass and there was zilch in many more suitable places. I didn't pick them because I don't eat them anymore. Only my second find this year (unless you count two spots within 50m of one another seperate, then it'd be 3 hehe) and none have been spectacular, that said I really have not been looking at all, was just a bit of fun yesterday keeping my eyes peeled since I was in that environment anyway. It is funny how few people realise that Psilocybe Subaeruginosa are practically a weed in Melbourne, I couldn't count how many times I have accidentally stumbled upon a patch just doing my day to day shit and having a bit of a keen eye for it. They are fucking everywhere!

it is currently pouring down rain like crazy psillo :D and i think its going to continue to rain tomorrow and sunday too. This will be make a tuesday hunt super super fruitilicious!!!!!!!!!!1

looking forward to find massive patches every where yo. and to take some quality ground level shots too :)

Argh spewin I'm not really down for traveling to far down south. Would going as far as mandurah maybe a bit further down near bunbiry have me any luck on finding subs?

SA and further west will probably have some of the best finds of the season after all of this rain.

It will also bring up some in Melbourne, but it's definitely past it's peak in Vic.

I got a tiny taste of the hunt for the first time this season, such fun.
Peak passing news makes me sad, but also gives me inspiration to research n prepare for the next. ^_^

just by that quote I know I will come back super super super super super super super fruitfulicious after hunting either this sunday or monday!!!

It's still not too late, i had a good find on the weekend of some real nice healthy subs. Only harvested about half the amount as the weekend before but it was still a good find.

With the weather that has been predicted for the rest of this week i think the season will boom a bit more before it dies off. We shall see! And if not.. it's been a fantastic season this year all in all!

cars getting serviced tomorrow, so can't do the weekly tuesday hunt now :(. but its all ok. as its raining both tues and wednes and clearing on thurs. So def going for a hunt thurs :D :D :D

Dude, if I was you I would check local parks and schools within walking distance anyway, anywhere with landscaped/woodchipped gardens. I know SA ain't Melbourne but I would be surprised if you couldn't find some in walking distance from your home.

Taking 1 dried gram of subs this weekend. Second time with mushrooms (other time in amsterdam) and taken lsd once. What can i expect?

I was looking on shroomery.org for trips by mushroom type but didn't have any luck.

This late in the season I doubt one gram of subaeruginosa will make you trip too hard. If you make lemon TEK tea you could probably expect pretty solid visuals.

^ That is true but ime the mushrooms that pop up early in season seem to be the most potent, maybe its just the fact it is when my tolerance is lowest though. I figure if early season shrooms really are more potent, by this time if one were to acquire dried mushrooms they are probably not from the first few flushes of the season.

It's just the tolerance factor.

Some seasons I haven't taken mushrooms until the last flushes in July/August and as long as their the first mushrooms in my belly from that season, I am as high as a U2 pilot :)

Visuals and positive aspects tend to decrease and the bad body sensations increase with every dose throughout the season.

Keeps those who abuse in check.

Nobody likes to feel like they're dying and this is a common side effect that is felt after the peak when abusing mushrooms.

hey speak for your self psilo, i quite enjoy feeling like i'm dying all the time. haha just kidding. :P
It is still pissing down rain like its the monsoon season in SE Asia or so lol. go rain god !!!

I have been drying my shrooms by just leaving em spread out in my room on a metalic sorta fly trap sheet with sometimes the ceiling fan blowing on it. i'm pretty sure my method of drying does not kill the potency of the shrromms. am i correct? please tell me i am :D

thanks :D

Funny Psilo, I tend to think those feelings like your dying are most prominent on the come up, although with abuse it doesn't really go away for the duration of the high.

I gave myself HPPD off the things back in '07 and have still had numerous trips every year since but this one. Honestly I don't know why I continue to think/hope that the toxic feelings they give me will ever go away but I have pretty much accepted now that they never will.

I found shrooms a few times this year going about my routine without really looking, didn't even bother to pick. I usually like to get a nice haul, I find going out and picking rather fun, but being forced to live in a garage this year turned me off the idea of foraging through frosty wilderness for some fungi I don't even indulge in any longer.

I reckon this season will have a bit of life left in it looking at the weather, I hope so for all you hunters out there. :D

We're all effected differently by the substances we use. I feel a bit shitty on the come up of mushrooms from time to time, but it's usually after the peak that I feel really bad with gut aches, bad gas and generally uneasy. This only happens after i have used them a few times in the season.

The first few trips are usually trouble free, with hardly any stomach discomfort.

Seeing some nice pin formation from all the recent rain we've had. Night temps are above freezing so I hope they get a chance to grow. Will definitely be doing some hiking tomorrow and will probably post some pics over coming days.
