FIFA World Cup 2010

Oh wow. Fuck the Ivory Coast.

Absolutely disgraceful. Fucking cheating prick.

Kaka going to be out of most the rest of the Cup now.

[Ivory Coast player ran into him, at slow speed, away from the ball, then threw himself to the ground like he'd been shot, and Kaka got sent off. 5 minutes from the end of a game that they can't win]

Ivory Coast just ruined the game, they should be disqualified, so much fouling, unbelievable.

I hope Brazil complains with FIFA, that's really not fair, they're like the only team that plays football that is actually fun to watch, they're honest and skilled and they get penalized like that.

That players was incredible, I never saw so much acting.

Surely the idiots who run FIFA even realise that they must clamp down on this blatant cheating:! That includes the Brazilian second goal also

Hmmmm... I think Kaka knew what he was doing.

I think he blocked the Ivory Coast player off the ball intentionally (probably still smarting from his first yellow card minutes earlier for similar petulant nonsense), but it was nowhere near what the IC player made it to be.

Shame. I reckon he'll get a two match ban.

Shocking display of quality, free flowing football from the Brazilians today, was a thoroughly enjoyable match which managed to hold my attention all the way through. Why can't England pass like that? Or anywhere near like that?

Hope that prick from the IC team gets a suspension for that stupid acting at the end. Kaka should have the his 1 match ban repealed too.

To be fair, there was plenty of cheating from both teams. Fabiano's second goal for example, or the Brazlian centre back going down like a sack of shit.

It's the main thing that does my nut about football. It doesn't happen in bowls.

The most hilarious bit was when they showed the ref turning to Fabiano after the goal and making a gesture as if he was asking him if the ball hit his arm or not. What does he expect him to say? "Oh yes, my mistake, disallow that goal please". Pretty shit ref overall really, but Brazil deserved the win anyway so no bother. He could really come unstuck in a closer game where each decision is crucial.

I want to see Brazil - Argentina, right now!!!

Tambo:the ball wasn't even in play! It was out of play about 15 metres away from the players.
See here, the money shot is from about 30s:

Yeah, Kaka clearly raised his arm and pointed his elbow to get a subtle dig in. Or at least that's how I see it. Petty, but probably not deserving of a card.

But given he was already on a yellow, you'd have thought he'd have kept himself to himself for the final few minutes.

Yeah, that shit was hilarious. Particularly the slow-mo where both player and referee were chortling to themselves about the blatant double handball! :D

Brazil can complain and cry about Kaka's send off but perhaps someone should remiond them of 2002.

You can't really complain about NZ being physical, it's what they do best. To be honest they have shown a lot more restraint than I usually give them credit for. The sooner football becomes a man's game the better. You can't spell Mana without Man. ;)

Bring on Paraguay!!

Its not a whole team or country that did that though is it, its one man! Last night that looked pre planned to me as he knew Kaka already had a yellow. :\

Today should be a good day for the footy, hopefully Portugal will show us some quality against N. Korea. Then id imagine Chile will beat Switzerland. And i would think Spain will put things right against Honduras. They were unlucky last time out!!

I don't agree, I'm a Rugby fan so if I wanna watch a manly sport I just tune in to some Rugby, football is by definition more of an elegant, trickster sport, if teams like Brazil are penalized in their game because other rougher teams just bash them, it ruins the sport in my opinion.

We are not talking about players being man handled though. The Italians would complain they were elbowed in the face, yet get up and start limping. :\ I am all for a free flowing beautiful game but that's just taking the piss.

The All Whites game plan is pretty simple, lob it to their tall targets. The Italians tried to negate that by claiming Fallons flaying arms were malicious. If they had a bit more heart they would contest those balls, not play for a foul. Either way NZ will remember that draw forever, Italy will want to forget it.

Do you think these guys are faking it?

wow dude! maybe u shuda bet on that!! u guessed all todays games right..

All games today were interesting to say the least. The Portugal domination over N. Korea was just hilarious (and probably embarrassing - I'd cry!). Second game of the day - meh. Currently, there is about 8 mins left in the Spain v. Honduras game and I'm loving it. Spain got off to a rocky start and really need(ed) to win this one.
--will the U.S. turn things around for them? Hmmm.

Most of the N Korea team are going to mysteriously disappear over the next few months...

Was a nice display from Portugal of how a world-class team should dispense with a team far below them in rankings. Kind of like what England should have done to Algeria. :!

lol @ the French team lately, is in total disarray, they refused to train :D
