Interested in backgrounds

20, been all over the place as far as education goes. A student in primary school, D student in highschool, did an Arts degree for a year mostly philosophy/classics, decided it was something I found interesting but not a valid career path, took a few years off to work/party, now I'm doing some high school science classes with the tentative aim of going back to Uni next year and transferring into Health Science. Not thinking too far beyond that atm.

Completed a Science Degree in Human Movement looking at being a Phys Ed teacher but decided not to follow that path.....then moved into Hospitality where I have been a Chef for 13 years.
I'm almost 32.
Even though I don't post a lot of comments on Bluelight, I have been an avid reader of this forum since about 2004 as I strongly believe in having a good knowledge of what you are putting in your bodies and I am interested in the trends following substance use and how people's ideas have changed over the last 17 years that I have been consuming various substances.

I have a measly BS, "Ethno- Botany," although I have never even worked a single in that field . I initially began studying Botany Proper, because in Israel, when the IDF sends you to school it dictates your course work. Today is it is all "Poli-Sci" and "ME Studies," but back in the day it was science oriented, to develop our industrial base (I am 43).

I joined the IDF at age 16, 1983. I became addicted to morphine at age 17 after my 2nd wound, in Lebanon.

I served until June 30, 2007 though from during my tenure had 2 stints in the Reserves. My total military time was 24 years, with 11 as an Active Duty soldier, NCO and then Jr. Officer. I retired as an Active Duty Junior Officer, at a rank roughly equivalent to a US Captain.

I live on Mindanao, in the Southern Philippines (Agusan del Sur Province on the east central coast) where I have lived since July 07th, 2007. However, I travel alot. Usually if I am not here, I am in Cambodia or else New York City in the States. I have 7 children, 6 of whom are alive (3 in Israel, fully grown, 1 in New Jersey,USA grown, 1 in Tampa, Florida,USA in 3rd year of university and 1 teenaged daughter in Nuevo Leon State in Mexico.

We farm rice, trees (Facalta, a tropical hardwood as well as Mitragynine, we mill rice and corn, have a couple of retail feed stores and speculate on land. I also manufacture fertiliser and wholesale a byproduct off one of my tree crops.

That is about it.

I maintain with morphine, oxycodone or fentanyl when here, methadone in the US. Not much to do here, it is way deep in the bush, lot of fighting here about (4 insurgencies currently) so always keeping an eye on that as well.

(Edited for spelling)

Shit soon ill be hitting 30 in a few years8o Getting old:|

Hardly dude - you're in the peak of your life (which you only realise when you hit 42). ;)

I run a small team of 1 in a type of computer business that I started a few years back. My job takes me all over Australia, well the eastern states moreso, but among other things, involves computer programming - which is why I end up here so often. I sometimes dream about a different reality where I became a chemist... :)

I was interested in harm reduction when I began taking mushrooms again (after a long break) and then, shortly after, MDMA a little too regularly (as you do) in 03/04. Bluelight (and Pillreports) have been fundamental to my understanding of not only the drugs I choose to take, both licit and illicit, but also the current status of the drug scene. Without Bluelight there's a good chance I could still be popping pills and simply wondering what the fuck was going on with today's mixed bag. I'd say Bluelight's done far more for curbing my appetite for drugs and improving my health than any government campaign with the old "just say no" line ever has.

Plus there are some cool people on here. Which is understandable... :D

Account Manager at a very large Audio visual company.

Have a BA, BB and an advanced diploma in Music performance - Jazz and a an advanced diploma in Sound engineering.

Most of the studies I did before I hit the work force were interesting but left me with a lot of time on my hands to get lost in wonderland.

28 now, and apart from being addicted to opiates I am illegal drug free.

Thought I'd never be able to get a real job but got lucky a few years ago and with the ability to bullshit have worked my way up to earning as much as I thought I would have at 18 but it's been a hell of a ride.

The sacrifice of being a sales manager is that my daily life consists of contradicting every value and belief system I have developed since leaving school.

I think this is what is called 'Growing up'.

I'm 25, have an Advanced Dip.Prof Counselling, BA Psych/Social Science. Now studying my BA Law/Political Science but have taken this year off..

I'm a qualified and registered tattoo artist but got the sack cos of the economy so I'm now doing part-time work to get by, lol..

Sustanon you sly dog ;).
Made a parachute account because I get a lil paranoid :P.

I'll be out of my teens in less than a week (Oh god :(, I'm scared, what happens?? Do I have to start getting up before midday?). I am in my second year of medicine and (like Divine Moments) I am unsure of what I would like specialise in afterwards.

I've always found the body to be exceptionally interesting, and I have been fascinated with recreational drugs and harm reduction since I could read (well, ok, since I found Erowid at 13).

Lets think. :)

I am 18 years old, 1st year, currently studying a Bachelor of Business at a well known university in Melbourne.

White, Upper Class, Bored Shitless.

I'm 19 & just finished my Cert. IV in Disability, currently not working in the field though.

I've done a few alcohol & drug modules (that were actually extremely factual & unbiased) but I've basically always been interested in drugs, even as a child. :)

Funny, I am doing marketing at TAFE and the alcohol and other drugs services students are in the same building as a lot of my clases and a few weeks ago I was out having a smoke and overheard some of them recapping the course work. They were just running through drug names and their effects, i don't remember exactly what drugs but they definately were wrong in some of their info. I am guessing they just got mixed up and the course doesn't spread inaccurate info, but I did wonder.

^ It wouldn't surprise me, some of the drug and alcohol counselors I've spoken to didn't know a whole lot, I certainly was disappointed about some of the 'facts' they were giving me.

DM, what TAFE do you go to out of curiosity? You don't have to say the campus name, just the name of the TAFE if you wouldn't mind. :)

I went to Chisholm if you were interested, not that I think one TAFE is any more superior than another TAFE as I'm fairly sure most if not all trainers are sub-contracted, just an interesting thing to note.

Bizarre that the alcohol & drug students were spreading misinformation about alcohol & drugs. :\

I did a year at TAFE in Wonthaggi and then moved to Melbourne to finish my course, but while I was there my Cert. IV course was mixed in with the Cert. IV Community Services (both courses did basically all the same modules bar a few specific) and I won't say most but a lot of the people that were interested in that line of work were actually users/ex-users themselves.

Obviously that wasn't the case for the people you're referring too drug_mentor lol.
