Aww mannnn I wish I could go to this, SO much! I missed a lot of the Horizons conference because my boyfriend didn't really want to go, and I'd love to make it to California for this but I'm on the east coast. I'll just make sure to go to Horizons next year-- all 3 days! :]
I'm really happy about this too and I even am shooting for a "trip guide" type career where I can lead therapy sessions this way. I know it's a long shot, but this is what I really want to do. If I can't work on these clinical trials, I'll try to find something similar that I fit in with. :D I just don't wanna be a plain psychologist that sits in a chair and listens, or anything like that... :/ So I'm going on to grad school to increase my options!! I hope all ends up well in this department.
Speaking of clinical trials, I was e-mailed about participating in one called "Psilocybin and Spiritual practice". Apparently I qualify, but I probably won't be able to do it because it's too far away. -_-;
you should check out the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. They've got a spiritually oriented clinical Psy. D. program and a master's degree program for spiritual guidance. I plan on applying there myself before too long, though I'm not sure i'll attempt to enroll in either of those programs, but who knows...
Well I officially won't be able to attend. I really hope some of this stuff ends up on google video or youtube or the MAPS page.

Hey, thanks for your consideration! I hope that I can end up going to a school like that. It's just so hard to plan something like moving all the way out there right now, as my plans seem completely different now. I really do want to do this though as a career, and I'm very happy that psychedelic therapy is gaining so much more acceptance. I still can't help but wonder if things will go as planned, though... : p
We do seem to be on the edge of a sea change in this area, and I hope nothing happens to impede that progess (like Palin 2012)...
The absolute highlight of the conference for me was Dr. Stanislav's keynote on the efforts to include the perinatal and transpersonal states on the standard model of the psyche. Jaw-droppingly brilliant work.
I've been flirting with wanting to go into psych for a long time, but I think this conference put me over the top on wanting to pursue transpersonal psychology as a career. Luckily I'm already in the SF Bay area so I won't have to relocate if I pursue a program at ITP.

ha, that really is a doomsday scenario.... and if so they had more foresight than i give them credit for. I'd probably put more stock in the Mayan 2012 theories if they hadn't mistook the catholics that would destroy their culture for pagan deities. Samsonite!! They were way off...Damn... is that what the Mayans were predicting?

I'd love to learn more about transpersonal psychology. While I'm naturally a skeptic, and a lot of the TP psychology movement strikes me new-agey, there do seem to be hints of brilliance. Any reading suggestions?
