Clearly DEMF is not a Dubstep festival... however, it's not purely a Techno Fest either. A quick scan of the line-up reveals many artists with absolutely no connection to that genre. e.g. Hudson Mohawk, Guilty Simpson etc. It was my impression that the festival intended to represent a broad sample of contemporary strains of electronic music.

Electro-house is currently really big as well, but that shit can stay where it is too!

Goin back for my second year, 09 was amazing. This year will be even better. 10th year anniversary and Plastikman live ! ! ! and lots of really good djs. Cant wait to see Ida edenburg and agorea. Im sure alot of the other sets will be sWEEET as well ! Woohoo 1 and a half more months!

ok, some more names on that list. seen picotto twice, and he was simply excellent both times. Never seen barem, but he's got some party tunes too. I feel like i need to catch booka shade at some point too. Not a huge fan of their tracks, but I'd like too see em live to see what all the hype is about.

the hype is about the fact they are DOPE live.

I agree though that their albums are just decent.

hotel reservations- check.

Had a blast last year and can see this year being even better! Definitely going to Old Miami on Monday morning, not sure what other afterparties yet.
 
Looking forward to another fun year. Taking a 5 day weekend this time. Got the hotel booked, ticket bought, ready for a weekend of craziness
