Well vitamin C is beneficial for its role as an antioxidant, which is important due to the byproducts of dopamine breakdown, but it won't potentiate the roll. Taking 5-HTP while under the effects of a serotonin releasing agent seems like a bad idea, acute serotonin syndrome anyone? But I do wonder if the vitamin C countering the oxidative stress allows for a little more clarity of thought? Doubtful it's anything really significant, though.Placebo is a very powerful thing.
While it may not be physically accurate, its hard to tell people what they did or did not experience when they were the ones to experience it. As long as people aren't trying to convince others that it is absolutely so, based solely on ancedotal evidence, then I'm not necessarily sure I would shut them down automatically. I might suggest that it could be just placebo though.
A lot of the rolling experience when you first start is kinda all in your head. If someone gives you something (5-htp, vit c) and tells you you'll roll harder if you take it there is a good chance you might actually roll harder regardless of what you're taking.
Well E is a very mind based drug.. You can kill it fast or you can make it stronger! I just know that Vit. C would do nothing to make you roll harder.. It just doesn't make logical sense.. Now 5-htp just sounds like a good OL' Sertonin Syndrome!![]()
Less mind based, more body based. Take 10 mg of molly and focus on rolling really hard. It won't happen. Not even with moon rocks.
MDMA is all mental? It doesn't affect any chemicals in your body?
I read an article on Erowid that talked about taking Vitamin C after doing MDMA. It stated that in studies done on rats the Vitamin C helped with Oxidative Stress... So I always take if after I roll in the hopes that I am lessoning potential neurotoxicity. Also, it seemed to lesson the rats tolerance.
I also take 5 htp after I stop peaking, and the couple days following a roll to build up seratonin. I take it after my peak, but while I am still rolling ... it seems to make me roll harder at this point... as if I have blown through a bunch of seratonin so my high is starting to fade, but the 5 htp gives me some more seratonin back and I start peaking again.. this could be placebo ... but hey it works for me!
I take 5-HTP after I come down, and the following day. It could be a placebo effect, but I feel better the next day than if I were not to take 5-HTP. I also take a multivitamin (B, B12, C) everyday.
