I keep clogging up the toilet

Does anyone else forget that they will get like this until it happens and then you wish you had taken some stool softeners to avoid the "rabbit turds"
 
Ok, so naloxone, if taken orally, won't cross the BBB, but it still will antagonize the receptors in the gut. If you were to injest naloxone, wouldn't that ease the constipation? I realize it's only available as an injectable liquid, but it can still be swallowed.I know that a combination oxycodone/naloxone pill is already available is most of Europe, called Targin.
Or maybe Methylnaltrexone, Relistor, which was also just introduced for this very purpose. It looks like this is only allowed to be prescribed for people with advanced chronic illness though. Although both naloxone and Relistor aren't scheduled in the US.
Which would be best to ask a doc for a script for? Her doc has never even brought up any of these, so he probably doesn't even know about them.
My mom is currently on Oxycontin 20mg 3x daily and has serious constipation issues and the same problem as the OP. All they keep putting her on all stool softeners, but it doesn't help her much. Which do you think she should ask for? I feel bad for her.
 
This one was close to chaos... fortunately I eat a lot of fruits (prunes) and fibers...
 
The worst is when you've been on the toilet for so long you need to piss at the same time. It makes me feel like I'm going to vomit when that happens. Ugh, almost puts me off opiates. ALMOST.

Us chicks normally pee and poop together really...so it's not really that weird. I hate when I'm pooping and need to puke, but thats what you have a lil pail in your bathroom for.


I hurt my back and was taking opiates daily for a while, the dr warned me I would get constipated and because my lower back was making me miserable, it would make shitting more uncomfortable. There is apparently this tea they sell at supermarkets which a friend of mine with the same issue said helped him move things right along -- maybe look into whatever it is? I just waited it out, and then ate some foods I know to give me diarrhea... and after about 24 hrs without any opiates, I think my insides literally came out of my rear-end.
 
I get constipated once in a while, but not everytime. When it is a constipated turd coming out though it ain't going to do no good to flush more often as the turd is usually BIG. Never measured it exactly, but have eyeballed to the point of knowing it is as long as from the tips of my fingers, stretched out, to halfway between my wrist and elbow, and that is no shit!

Since I live alone I will let it stay in the commade so that it will "soften up" somewhat. Sometimes it works and sometimes it is so hard that after it has been in there a while and I go to take a piss I'll piss on the turd trying to cut it in half, like a water jet cutter. But the damn thing is so hard the stream of piss barely dents it. I just go ahead and flush with the plunger in hand. So far so good.
 
Seriously though, I'm a daily opioid user and I know how difficult it can be to deal with the constipation from it. I've tried drinking lots of water, eating lots of fiber, taking fiber supplements and so forth. Nothing worked, until I took a Dulcolax suppository. Within 45min I took a massive satisfying dump.
 
Uncooked porridge oats with milk, psyllium husks, sunflower seeds & daily magnesium tablets are your friends.

Just wanted to add to this tread.

First, a little background, I take 125mg of Methadone daily.

Well, I woke up this morning and soon enough I had the urge to take a shit. A few rock hard turds came out and upon flushing the toilet things didn't go well at all (I clogged it pretty bad).

Now I thought about what someone said about having a knife and fork ready for such occasions.

In the end I was able to push the crap through using a plunger.

Phew! That was a tough one to get through!
 
If going outside try to find a slight hill with a small diameter tree. Just hang onto the treewith both hands and place both feet at the base of the tree and shit to your hearts content, and you never have worry about backfilling your boxers or your pants! I learned the technique after shitting in my pants a few times. But now that I have a plunger I do not shit outside anymore.
 
this thread is brilliant- wire coat hangers that have been untwisted and made into one long piece of wire can unclogg a u bend from mega turds

see my post under (I just gave birth), which describes effective help. Basically, increase your high fiber food intake, but ALSO use STIMULANT-type laxatives, NOT regular, passive, or non-stimulant type laxatives. If due to opiates, which effects/slows down function of the large bowels, you need stimulant type laxatives to get it going again. regular laxatives do not work in the majority of severe cases of OPIATE INDUCED constipation. Good luck!
 
Although your advice does makes sense, stimultant laxatives remain dangerous for one's health.
I need to investigate further. For the moment, I'm staying on FFV, not Final Fantasy 5, but Fibers, Fruits, Vegetables.
