Bupe Suboxone/Buprenorphine FAQ & Megathread v2; 2010

Yeah, that's why I like to save benzos for when they're truly needed. I know someone who would take up to 20mg plus of lorazepam. While on buprenorphine, and be 100% intoxicated (to the point of smearing food all over their face).

What do you mean by red-flagged? Did you tell him about prior drug abuse?

Yeah, I got like that. Not smearing food on my face, but they seem to have the opposite effect on me in high doses when I'm on suboxone. I'd become an asshole, be out of control, black out and not remember anything. I'd have to hear about it from my girl the next morning. Needless to say, no one was to pleased about my actions.

Yeah, red-flagged as in too many attempts at the ER to procure opiates with the excuse of I am in a lot of pain because of my back. But it was plain as day to them I was in w/d, but sometimes I'd get so desperate at the height my addiction. Some doctors would just write me scripts to get me out of there. I have herniated discs and torn ligaments in my lower back from an injury in the desert, the same injury a family member of mine gets norco's for... So I used to go around trying to get them prescribed for myself... doctor shopping. So it's all in my medical records. Therefore, they've red-flagged me. I never told them about prior drug abuse, they just assumed.

I gotha, sorry to hear about that.

I got a simple question, does Suboxone block Fentanyl or can you get high of it like with Tramadol and Suboxone?

Can bupe be used for methadone withdrawal??

Yes, BUT...

You need to be *completely* in methadone WD before starting buprenorphine. More so than regular opiates.

Methadone lingers in your system longer than regular opiates, and transitioning from methadone to buprenorphine is more difficult than going from buprenorphine to methadone.

If you wait at least 3-5 days, I am sure you can easily use buprenorphine without having to fear precipitated WD.

This may be dose/individual dependent, I have never tried methadone and have no subjective experience to add here.

If you use Suboxone to try to get off methadone, good luck! :)

Does anyone know the exact dimensions (size) of the 8mg Suboxone pills? I did a google search and looked around on here, but didn't find anything...I really want to know how much I have left mg wise, but need something to reference my remaining pill size to...

Sorry man.

I know that each 8mg pill weighs 394 mg approximately (or, 0.4g if you have a 0.1g scale).

If you have more than < 1 pill (I guess accidentally crumbled up?) you can use a 0.1g scale. If you have <1 pill, then you would have to guess.

I always use a pill cutter and split my N8's into 2mg sections if I need to (now, I liquid measure, so I don't).

Yeah, don't have any of that or have access to any of those things. I live in a foreign country and don't speak the language so it's really hard to go out and buy things...
I had 1 pill (8mg) and have been breaking off small pieces for a week now...if I was to take a pic. w/ my webcam with it next to something for comparison, could I email it to you and you could compare to a whole pill?

Nevermind...I just found iruler.net and a picture on google images of a pill next to two rulers. It looks like one pill measures roughly (in mm) 10x11x4. That is 10 mm from bottom to top, 11mm wide, and 4 mm deep. Mine measured roughly 9mm bottom top, 7mm wide, and 3mm deep...so I'm guessing I have maybe a little more than half left...? That really surprises me since I've been tapering for a week now, breaking off and crushing little pieces and snorting. I was thinking I had only 1-2 mg's left, but this leads me to believe that I have more like 4-4.25mg's left...but it's still difficult to know without a scale, or unaltered pill to compare to.

It's been roughly 26 hours since my last dose, which I took 28 hours after it's prior dose...and I feel very minor WD symptoms...slightly runny nose, very slight chills/sweats. I'm trying to wait til it's been 36 or 48 hours to take my next one....very difficult though.

I was thinking at one point to switch to methadone to get off the codeine and Oxy's. But methadone WD is supposed to be very harsh and very lengthy. Not as harsh as heroin, but pretty damn close and much longer (for some as long as 4 to 5 weeks 8o ).

So I think I'll pass on the methadone :)

I´ve gone through both and I find methadone withdrawal to be 10 x´s worse than H wd. Either get on bupre for as long as required or try Tramadol + benzos if you still have it in you to do it that way...everything but methadone would be my advice ,really.

Anyone who have dissolved 7,5mg Midazolam (Dormicum) benzo and mixed with Bupe?

I do not want to overdo thr Midazolam, my benso tolerance now is 20-40mg Valium + 1-4mg Xanax/day.

Should i only take half of thr 7,5mg Midazolam at first?

OK a pretty silly Q, cause ofc i will try the Midazolam alone at first but it would be fun to hear from other experiences.

^7.5mg midazolam (orally) is not much at all compared to either 20-40mg diazepam or 1-4mg alprazolam... I'd say it's equivalency is around 15mg diazepam or .75mg alprazolam.

Keep in mind that it is a very powerful hypnotic benzo, and will knock you out easier and cause more amnesia than the equivalent doses of the other drugs.

Yeah but no Im gonna dissolve the pill, filter and inject with my bupe solution.
Thats why i were asking if 7,5mg midazolam IV would be to much or too little?

Im getting a bunch of them very soon.

(Midazolam is one of the few benzodiazepines that are water soluble)

Hey everyone... I'm new here.

Unfortunately, I am going through suboxone withdrawal right now.

Just to give a little background (don't know if this belongs here), I have been using heroin IV since I was 17. Finally made the switch successfully from heroin to suboxone 6 months ago (I am now 21.. have been through so much). Now this is day 3 off of suboxone and I want to kill myself! Did I ween down too quickly? I never took more than 8 mg a day (well, there were times that I did in hopes of getting high) because I know that doctor's overprescribe suboxone. So I was on 8 a day for months, then 6 a day very briefly, then 4 a day for about a month to two months, then 2 a day for only about 2 weeks if I'm lucky, and now I'm off. This is the first time that I am reading anything on the internet about drugs in general, and this is the first time that I am hearing people weening down to 0.5 mg before they come off. I really want to use (obviously), I just don't want to end up where I was. I am really stuck. How long do you think my suboxone withdrawals will last? Any advice? Thanks a lot guys.

i'd say it takes about 2 weeks for all the symptoms to go away with subs. youll be surprised how much less pain youll have to go thru compared to dope wd. it does last longer tho. be prepared for physical symptoms to last at least a week, and the rest lingers 2weeks-month
