Why do you think meph is having a negative effect on the scene? Surely it's giving a lot of people a lot of pleasure without the threat of being prosecuted. That's got to be a good thing hasn't it?

He was just on radio 5 justifying the ban because m-cat is like amphetamine, ergo it is evil.

Apparently amphetamine is implicated in 'about 50 deaths' per year in the UK, something he says we don't hear enough about.

Yes, and about 50 people a year die putting up their Christmas trees (probably). We should ban those too.

I'm not overly concerened about the mephedrone ban personally; it's the hypocrisy and the wider implications which sicken me.

Demand for good quality drugs has risen since high purity mephedrone has been avaliable cheaply? At the moment the demand for pills at club is 0. Hopefully someone will pressup some good pills fuck even mephedrone pills when it's illegal. Chances are though people will just sell pipes.

So I guess he must also be inferring that ADHD medication is also evil? Dextroamphetamine and Methylphenidate are very amphetamine-like, if I understand correctly...

Don't get me wrong, I'm under no disillusions that meph will be banned tomorrow and by the weekend we'll be able to buy 100 half decent pills for 100 quid like it's 2007 all over again; it'll certainly take time but I think the situation will improve as a result of banning meph.

It's all about supply and demand. The availability of good pills in The Netherlands and the fact that MDMA has returned in small quantities here shows there are people out there with the capability and inclination to make it. However, as long as meph is available cheaply and legally there will be very little demand for it.

I think given a choice between MDMA and meph, both illegal, similarly priced and of uncertain quality, people will go for MDMA all day long. Right now that's not the case, so the lower demand is reducing the supply.

So it'll be good to make it illegal so youcan munch illegal meph pills instead of making your own meph bombs with pure product?/? Am I missing something here.....8)

Meph willstill be available cheapas fuck on the continent and youcan be sure as fuck theyll be pressing up shite meph pills and selling them to you under the guise of Ecstasy at twice the price you'd pay now.
 
What are the chances of mephedrone pills appears on the uk scene now? I'm assuming stockpiles in the hands of organized criminals is quite high. Also does anyone have any information on the quantity of mephedrone that has been imported overall?

Obvious it's worse than the current situation but I'd rather be sold a 100mg mephedrone pill than a pipe.

I'm not sure organised criminals would have bothered stockpiling mephedrone while it was legal.

One woman at a chinese chemical company was saying they had 4 or 5 UK customers, the largest ordering 50-100kg of mephedrone at a time.
 
As regard how much is stockpiled LOTS

(I've heard that certain elements have multiple garages full of the stuff and have had for some time waiting for the ban)

I wonder if people have actually forget that pills became shit way before meph appeared on the scene! :)
 
I''d really appreciate being able to read this bill in full as soon as its available I wanna know when it comes into effect/what compounds are banned etc. etc.
