Anyone have thoughts on Seroquel?

Seroquel are the balls~ they work great, even at 25mg.

Be careful though, don't over do it because they will knock your ass out. I started on 25mg (years back, don't take them any more) then gradually increased. Eventually, during a brief hospital stay, they had me on 200mg and like WOW talk about OUT?

Yeah, they work very well. But don't dose over, give your body time to adjust, used properly you will sleep like a baby FOR SURE.

Be safe~

yep, great for sleeps. I take 200 mg(prescribed 300) every night and I sleep forever...only problem is I cant Fully wake up to pee so some nights i'll be in a sort-of-fever-not-so-fully-asleep state because my bladder is so full but my brain wont really recognize that...

during 300 mg a night, I have taken 2ci, 2ce, methylone, mephedrone, MG, HBWR, cannabis, alcohol, oxy, chloroform, diethyl ether and benzos

oddly enough, the one that felt most dangerous together was the cannabis, I had a couple of intense waves of weirdness overcome me like nothing i've ever felt before(tokin ten years), these lasted about 1.5 seconds, and one time my legs started shaking like my shins were giving out on me... this lasted about 5 seconds. im on my first big break from bud and will get back to that eventually and hopefully it wont happen again

HA! WAIT!

"Anyone have thoughts on seroquel?"

Nope, no thoughts! pretty much "uhhhhhhh zzzzzzzzzzz"

It's great for sleep. You'll probably feel very sedated and sluggish the next day, but that will wear off in time as your body adjusts to the drug. I use it because I became too tolerant to hypnotic benzos. I'm taking 100mg's of Seroquel a night, and that usually gives me a 10 hour sleep.

good for sleeping, good at being an anti-psychotic, good at making you groggy in the morning when you first start taking it.

however....

not good for recreation purposes

I took it for sleep. It would turn me into a zombie for about 16 hours even at doses as low as 25mgs. 16 hours of zombification is not good if you only want to sleep for 8. I might just be sensitive to it, if it works for you then go for it.

my boy jeff took 27 of these 500 mg ones and he was out for 5 days straight and it pinched one of his nerves in his legs he limped for months crazy shit i used to snort this shit like nose candy its kinda lika a benzo for poor niggas i guess i like tho

It got me very dehydrated/hung over after dosing and the next morning. I would suggest drinking extra fluids to prevent this common side effect.

I took 100mg Seroquel at night for a couple of years before I lost my insurance coverage and I felt that they worked very well for sleep, and as an add-on to my SSRI anti-depressant (Luvox). After losing my insurance through Premera Blue Cross, I can't afford the script anymore. They're pretty expensive. A lot of people badmouth Seroquel and say it causes horrid side effects and shit, I never experienced any negative side effects from it except maybe a slight drowsiness in the morning....other than that I thought it was a perfectly fine medication.

I tried a few different mg's and regular Seroquel along with the Extended-Release. Both were shit. It didn't work for me, It still took me forever to get to sleep, then by the time I got to sleep it was time to wake up and obviously I didn't want to so naturally I was groggy (not something I necessarily attribute to the Seroquel). It happened no matter how much time I had set aside for myself to sleep and unwind.

Most of the people in my Suboxone group are on Seroquel or Trazodone. Personally if i had to take one of those I would rather the Trazodone. Many of them complain about the weight gain. Also I was told I needed to get my vision/eyes checked after taking the Seroquel for so long.

Something else I found weird was when I work up in the morning, or whatever time if I could sleep in, I would be out of breath when I woke up, and my chest felt weird. That is what ultimately was the breaking point for me, and I'd rather just live with the sleep issues and try to figure it out myself. Finally finding a good councilor has helped, and I still have sleep troubles sometimes, but it's a lot better than things were before.

^ Yeah, Seroquel isn't working as well as it used to for me. Especially if I'm stressed out or depressed - it just doesn't make me sleep, no matter what dose I take. I was prescribed haloperidol to take when I was in a bad space, but unfortunately I've run out of those now and I'm not sure if my GP will give me another prescription. They were the ultimate "knock-out" pills.

seroquel? run fast and far but that's my opinion about most psych drugs. i don't see anything remotely recreational about it.

co-sign.

Seroquel is amazing for sleep, there is no doubt about it. But it gave me severe anxiety issues that i am still trying to deal with today. It will fuck your mind up, it's an anti psychotic for a reason. It gave me this weird paranoid feeling too, and i aint scared of shit lol

First post!

Seroquel (quetiapine fumarate) is a popular new atypical anti-psychotic medication approved for the treatment of depressive episodes associated with bipolar disorder, acute manic episodes, and schizophrenia.

It has off label uses, such as sleep maint. This dosage usually starts at 25mg.

However, Seroquel does not reach an effective level for depression and anxiety until you reach the 300mg dosage range. I personally have had a few years (3) experience with this drug. I was initially prescribed this drug as an alternate to Geodon (Ziprasidone) as it caused an acute manic episode when I took 120mg. I have taken Seroquel in doses of 25mg - 600mg.

The effects of seroquel (in my experience) plateau at the 400mg dose, however when I was upped to 600mg I did experience a spike in side effects while my body adjusted. *EDIT - Added: It took about 3-4 weeks to adjust to the dose, it was immediately increased to 600mg.

Some of the more prominent side effects I experienced were at the 400mg - 600mg dose range. I experienced night sweats, night terrors, extreme next day fatigue and drowsiness. I was on this much seroquel while I was in rehab for of all things 'Alcoholism' as diagnosed by the military because I had what they called an alcohol related incident and had to go to out patient rehab.

Other than what I've already said above there are some serious side effects that can happen while taking seroquel that does require you to do a risk vs benefit analysis. Seroquel is known to increase blood sugar levels and can lead to early onset diabetes, in fact there is a lawsuit against it's manufacturer based on this side effect.

However, in my experience, at 25mg had almost no side effects and I tolerated it very well. I am currently taking it again (100mg) while my psychiatrist works on a tailored treatment plan to control my mania.

It also has one hell of a WD if you quit cold turkey after taking high doses for a year, but nothing compaired to benzo withdrawals, which I am experiencing now.

I think that covers the basics, if you or anyone has any specific questions about seroquel just PM me and I'll try to answer to the best of my ability and as soon as possible.

peace and love

Etherbunny
