the official 2010 NBA thread vers. LeBron James

No way. They won 2 ECF games last year, they'll win 3 at the most if they get lucky. There's no way LeBrick is getting his ring. Dallas, Lakers, and Denver can easily close out the Cavs in a 7 game Finals set up. Even better that Cavs get the home record.
They will lose 1 game at home, then a team like Dallas, Denver, Lakers will get 3 home games in a row. The West isn't even worried about the East. Child's play...

give me some of that crack that you smoke, man. the Cavs have already balled on the likes of all those Western power-house teams that you mentioned above (this year or last).

and do you still think the Lakers are breezy now that they have lost a scary three in a row? one could argue either side, but my opinion is that the Lakers aren't taking advantage of their inside presence because Kobe can't dish it out, or he bricks it out game to game.

and that is an opinion based on fact, not that special blend of Haterade crack that you must be smokin'

Wake me up when the Cavs win a SOLITARY ***GAME*** in The Finals.

We've been waiting for almost seven years.

And perhaps my boyfriend Kobe was RIGHT all along - and that HE should have been the alpha-dog in 2000-2002 - it seems awfully strange that Shaq has left 4 teams - ALL OF THEM ON BAD TERMS! - and hasn't won a single title in his entire college and pro career without KOBE BRYANT or DWAYNE FUCKING WADE!

At what point do we acknowledge that just MAYBE, this Lebron dude doesn't have the complete package necessary to win titles as his team's best player - certainly, when his team's second best player is a donut-eating non-hard-working megalomaniac, who just seems to battle injury, foul, and foul shot problems throughout his entire life?

I lol'd at this post.

All I can say is that I can't wait for June. :)

I approve of this post.

The Cavs will not make it to the finals.

btw axl,

Melo > Lebron.

When the nugs lost that game to lakers, he went up to Kobe and hugged/congratulated him.
In another game, when he got fouled out for some bullshit, he just smiled and walked away.

In both situations, Lebron would Bawwww and get mad like the little immature bitch that he is. Just look at this.

He has absolutely no respect for the game, I don't know why you dick ride him so much.

Shaq has won titles with Wade and Bryant, yes, because you are overlooking one very important fact about his game. Shaq plays center, a position that you know in the modern aspect of the NBA is more of a complementary position. the days of Kareem Abdul-Jabaar are over.

you can't fault Shaq for winning a title only with Wade and Bryant. on the other hand, you could have faulted Kobe all througout his career until he won a title without Shaq. do you see my logic here?

Kobe how my ass taste??

a couple things here. LBJ obviously has a complete game. the NBA PER rankings have listed him as the number one player for the last couple years (and that takes in account many aspects of the game that I can't even care to explain). Dwayne Wade is always number two. Kobe Bryant, while being a clutch player who can make last second shots, just doesn't have the overall value that comes with the two aforementioned players. Bryant only plays pedestrian defense, and assists, rebounds, and blocked shots are almost laughable.

sure, he has won lots of titles. and I respect him for that. but it is more because of his well-run franchise and his excellent supporting cast than anything else.

put Bryant in Miami and he would be another Dwayne Wade, sucked in a black hole that is going nowhere.

they have already put LeBron James in "another Miami" type team and what did he do? reach the Finals, and built a solid NBA team in a franchise that has been a joke since the Mark Price days.

Melo > LBJ has to be some sort of joke. Melo can ball, but he just isn't the whole package. you will know I am right and you are wrong when LBJ wins the MVP again this year.

my last point is that Shaq is the second best player on the Cavs. not so fast my friend. this subjective award of yours should go to an already superb looking Antwan Jameson, Mo Williams, or my fan-favorite Anderson Varejao.

Bryant only plays pedestrian defense

You JUST lost what little credibility you had regarding your analysis of Kobe.

How many First Team All-NBA defensive team honors do "pedestrian" players typically win?

and [Kobe's] assists, rebounds, and blocked shots are almost laughable.

Dude - when are you going to FINALLY figure out that this NOT Fantasy Basketball we've been discussing?!

If you want to go purely by stats, then Tracy McGrady is almost as good as Kobe, and always has been.

But if you're willing to dig a bit further, and actually WATCH THE GAMES, you can begin to separate the very very good from the great.

HINT: Winning ONE game in the NBA Finals within seven seasons would help LeBron's case.

Until then, he's just another one of a long line of phenomenal physical specimens who accumulates fantastic regular-season stats, and whose teams NEVER win the title - just like Tracy McGrady.

the Celtics can't get out of the East this year. I would take Orlando, Cleveland, ATL, and even Milwaukee over the big green machine this year.

it's a nice change of pace from their dominance. thankfully you as a fan shouldn't be worried because they run a very tight ship of an organization.

to be honest i'm a little worried.
i think they have a strong chance but the cavs are looking bad ass, the others i don't think they'll have a problem with provided no ones injured (which could definitely be an issue.)

Wow, Lakers need to get their shit together. It was painful to watch the game yesterday.

On sheer talent and experience alone, they're getting out of the West without a major challenge.

I agree that they're underachieving right now, but that said, this is the first time in eons in which the West doesn't have a legitimate threat to its top team.

And by the time they have to play the Magic (or the Cavs, if by some chance I'm wrong), they'll have had many weeks to get back into form.

And Kobe and Phil just might be the most focussed-on winning player/coach team tandem (other than perhaps MJ and Phil) in the history of the league.

I'm not saying they CAN'T lose.

But they still have the best player, the best coach, the best starting five, and the confidence of KNOWING that they've done it already.

The fact that they're NOT the favorite (the're about 2.5 to 1 - the Cavs are 1.7 to 1) is absolutely preposterous.

I would LOVE the opportunity to book all of those Cavs bets.

And I love this game!

Playoffs bump, anyone else watching Miami-Boston right now?

Can't wait for LA-OKC again.

Absolutely embarrassing. If the Cavs lose tonight it will be a huge disappointment and I wouldnt see us being able to resign LeBron, which means Cleveland basketball would again become irrelevant. Sucks

That said, I still think we have a good enough chance to win tonight and take Boston back to Cleveland and win a game 7.
