I am no longer shocked that law enforcement allows businesses to continue to operate for an extending period of time before making a bust. It is clearly in their best interest. Law enforcement does not care about preventing drugs from getting on the streets, they want to make money. Forfeiture laws have turned asset seizure into a money making opportunity for the police. They allow businesses such as BBB to continue selling products for as long as possible, so that there is the maximum amount of money available for the feds to seize. In this manner the federal government is the actual provider of the products because they eventually seize all the profits of their sales and allowed the sales to continue long after they were aware of them. The police have become professional thieves. They don't believe their bullshit about drugs being dangerous, this is all about money.

This is indeed very very sad. I really hope Bouncing bear will be able to raise enough money by continueing to sell their non contested products to help the owner out, or that he does have some sort of back up plan.
The list of charges is a little ambiguous, only a few of the mentioned substances are actually illegal, such as DMT. Hopefully Sloan will be able to argue his way out of many of the charges
Basically anything people can consume that is being sold as not for human consumption is a target, whether its scheduled or not. One guy said in his phone conversation with the FDA they consider all these legal high and herbal products unapproved new drugs being marketed no matter whether it says not for human consumption or not. The people targeted will likely be charged with "misbranding" of drugs, likely the FDA is being used instead of the DEA since these substances are not scheduled.
This sounds like they are turning the law on its head. It will soon be a case of every new substance being illegal by default until the Government make it legal (Or keep it illegal!)
That's what the FDA was intended for all along. A law passed in 1994 paved the way for a grey market in "supplements". You're not supposed to be able to eat, drink, or smoke anything not approved by the FDA. There's legislation being worked on by Senator Orrin Hatch, the 2010 Dietary Supplement Safety Act, will change things so that only large pharmaceutical companies (and the largest supplement manufacturers, mostly located in Utah where Hatch is the senator) will be able to afford to comply with the regulations necessary to sell even things like VITAMINS.
