Mushrooms don't just appear over night, they will start "pinning" after rain and grow to a noticeable size over a few days to a week.

Head back out around Thursday and you should be in with a good chance of getting mushrooms before 2010 %)

Thanks PsiloSubNaut. I am aware of the "3 day rule", I was hoping a bit of rain a few days prior would have resulted in a few popping up but thats not the case. I'm starting to think this rain is going to be the catalyst for the begining of the mycellium growth phase and it'll be another 2/3 weeks (and more rain) before they start popping up. It's been unseasonably dry here recently which I'm sure isn't helping things whatsoever.

I will go for a drive out again maybe Thursday and see if I have better luck though, just praying for them to start popping up in the next week or 2 due to the fact I'm still on holidays.
 
Well finally had our first bit of "luck" for the season, albeit not much luck. The usual spot is still a no go (though quite a bit of pinning so we're not far off) but another spot pulled up a few Pan Cyans. Not really enough to do anything with (about 10g fresh) but a nice cruisy night was had.

Hey, some of you might remember my post from not so long ago about Trying LSD, well turns out the person i was going to get some off is all talk and no walk :p

I'm still on the prowl for some Cid (or any Psyches for that matter) around my area but being quite young its hard to find a trustworthy dealer yet alone an untrustworthy one :\

Anyways When mushroom season comes round this year i was planning on heading out of the capital with some mates and picking some subs, However, Im concerned about being hassled by the popo on our fungi hoarding adventure.

If me or my mates were to be pulled up with a bag full of Psilocybe mushrooms what would be the consequences? the spot im thinking of is supposed to be well known and i can't imagine that police wouldn't have knowledge of it.

On one hand i've heard of people being slapped on the hand or fined and let go without their stash, while on the other I've heard of people facing the full penalty for possessing a Class A drug, which could be very bad if someone was trying to stockpile for the rest of the year.

Just wondering if there is experience on the matter?

12 months ago i was charged with posession of 27 grams of dried blue mountains psilocybe mushrooms. cyans and subs is my guesssin. not cubensis anyways. thank fuck they only got this small bag that was the last of my stash, as it had been way bigger earlier in the year. and in previous years i have actually had more than a kilo dry, no shittin. so i am thankfull for some blessings. because of this amount tho, i have automatically been charged with deemed supply. of a commercial trafficable quantity, which has a standard non parole period of ten years. can you believe that. they charged me wuth 27 gms of psilocen. even tho it was 27 gms of mushroom. obviously i am fighting this, plead not guilty and have a trial startin in a month. and i am not guilty of supply for i have never given any away. i am nearly 40 years old ans have enjoyed shrooms for 20 years.for the last 15 years i have provided only for myself. sure in younger times my mates and i would pick together, but as i have got older the location of my patches is secret, i dont even tell my wife. it wasnt until finding this site have i realized that mushies are still used by youngens. i have met a few, but only a few. anyway, be warned, there are seriuos penalties for mushrooms.
 
Holy shit psynap that really sucks man, hopefully you only get slapped with a possession charge instead, i mean commercial trafficking? that's heavy.

Makes me think twice, i really can't afford a criminal record at this time in my life.

I take it you weren't found in possession in the midst of picking though?

It's frustrating to hear what you've been charged with and I hope you're able to come out the other side with minimal to no disruption to your life. This is, however, a timely reminder that the police can and will charge people with possession of mushrooms - no matter how trivial a lot of us may think this is.

@ deman, naah mate, in a bag, 9 months old and dry. i am very carefull when i pick. mother in law found my weed in my garage. dobbed me in. i handed over the mushies thinkin i wouldnt be charged. plead guilty to weed, no big deal. but am gonna fight this other the whole way.
 
8o your own mother in law dobbed you in? screw getting married.

Maybe the police were more severe in their actions because you had them in your home?

Are mushrooms illegal when fresh as well? the law in the uk (until 2005) was that they were legal until you processed them in any way (including drying). Now they are illegal wet as well.

Do you get liberty caps (Psilocybe semilanceata) over there? I have heard that they grow in NZ and always wondered if they grew in oz too.

27 grams of Psilocybin? Surely that charge wouldn't stant up in court!

Lets say they were incredibly potent mushrooms at 1% psilocybin, that had been stored for 9 months with no degredation to the active chemical.

That'd be 0.27 grams of psilocybin....!!!

Fuckin joke mate. Fight them.
 
yeah, stupid isnt it. but thems is the laws. .27 of a gram is above the trafficable amount. so i supposedly have been charged with more than a hundred tomes the trafficable amount. and uh yeah, they had weakened a lot. thankfully i forgot to give them all of my mushroom rum eh. thats gone now tho. hey marley, newcastles surrounds have cubensis at moment.
 
@ ledionz, As far as i know fresh mushrooms containing psilocin or psilocybin are also illegal here.

And yeah we get Liberty Caps in the south of Australia where it is cooler.

Fight it for sure, as long as your super clear that they are specifically for you I think you'll be fine.
 
sounds like you're a bit delusional to be totally honest mate.... :( sorry if that is taken as condescending but dreams and reality aren't linked like that :S
 
i have mushroom dreams occasionaly, to me though it's more of a sense that i know it's time to venture through to the mushroom realm again. By occasionaly i mean maybe once or twice a year.
 
I have dreams on shrooms, sometimes id think that im in a cartoon. One time i stood in front of my house and had to ask myself is this where i live? It wasnt even the same color. God i luv shrooms:P
