yeah but what i said stands, you have done literally nothing to the mephedrone. theres no harm in trying it out but you may as well have just stared at the bag for a while, what did you hope to achieve?

Actually one thing to try is to make a saturated soln with boiling water & leave it to cool in the fridge. You should get some lovely crystals of pure mephedrone in the morning (don't throw the rest of the liquid away as it'll still contain a fair bit mephedrone, along with cuts/impurities)

Pretty much unless the impurities were greater than about 40-50%. It's used as a technique in organic chem to get the highest purity samples (fractional recrystallization)

How does it work with amphetamine when the impurities are the majority? I am enjoying learning new things :D

Main impurity with amphetamine is gucose which remains in solution due to it's incredible solubility. If the main cut/impurity was say ephedrine then it gets way more complicated

I got an A-level and then started a degree in it... loved the theory work of organic chem, but hated the practical work.

A degree in biochem & a masters in neuropharmacology (and a kid's fascination with things that go 'bang'! )

Aye, that's what I wanted to do for a degree course but I just can't do it. The difference between that and my theoretical physics course if I have to remember how to do things whereas (feel free to quote me wrong I've only done some basic level pharmacology) pharma is much more about remembering facts. Bloody love the subject though.

*trying to remember A-lvl chemistry* if you guys are referring to fractional crystallisation, do you mean slowly raising the temperature to just at/under the BP of the sustance you want, evarporating all the unwanted stuff (with lower BP) along the way, then collecting the desired substance whilst leaving all the other unwanted stuff (with higher BP) behind?

surely it would work regardless of how much impurity you have because you would just get rid of everything apart from the substance at the exact BP you decide upon?

edit: using "surely" as a figure of speech, I know already there is something I am missing from the big picture

Well I may take some this evening or today even. Last time I took this batch 350mg over a few hours had my heart racing all night and well into the next day. I have a batch of small crunchy crystals that seems more euphoric and smoother which is what my experiment now resembles.

Just got back from the gig I played at... I'm knackered, I ache, but fucking hell it was amazing!!!!!

I thought I'd tie this in here as I tried a couple of small dabs of Meph tonight before I started my set (which went really well and the crowd was awesome ♥ ).

It was really nice. I was fucked on Booze, Diazepam, some Dope and a tiny bit of weed too but I had a small amount and it gave me energy, a tiny but lovely bit of euphoria and really set my night off!

I bounced up n down like mad during my set and the set after (Bus Monitor, my mate Phil) which were both fucking ace. I got loads of handshakes during and after my set so it was thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd

Such a good night.. Definitely needed too.

Nope that's fractional distillation (like what they do to oil to get the separate components). I was on about doing a partial recrystallization so that only one substance (the one you want) comes out of solution after cooling. To distill mephedrone you'd need a fuck off vacuum pump otherwise you run the risk of it being destroyed by the heat needed at atmospheric pressure
