MDPV Megathread 3 - It don't matter if you're tanned or white! or beige...

At the risk of sounding a bit like a jerk, I believe what happened to your sample is that it had water added to it. Most substances don't undergo any real chemical change from being dissolved and then dried out again. Really drying things usually takes longer than you've given it so far. If you need it to be easier to handle, try throwing it in the freezer for a bit.

Sorry stupid typo, that should have said "It is NOW dried", not "not dried".

Oh, ok. So you have it back to a dry powder again now? Is there any reason to not assume that you're back to where you started - plain mdpv? Does it still weigh about the same?

I'm confused... or PeeVeedUpToFuck... anyway...

Plain MDPV on foil. Chasing. A lump or a thin line (to help it from burning up). How long should a chase last for? How often does the foil need changing? What contents from the old foils can be collected?

Freebase MDPV on foil. Vaped. Milky coating after initial heating, no inhalation. Will turn yellow... then black when heated furthermore. Inhalation until hard "soot"?

Well the colour has changed significantly from pure white to tan.

Unsure of what I started with tho as it was all I had left, smeared over the insides of the bag. Ill bioassay it when I have the chance and mention any possible differences.

There won't be any differences. A vendor was bullshitting people telling them to put their PV in water and evaporate off to get tan PV.

The colour may have changed but I don't think there'll be any difference in effects. If anything it may have degraded in quality.

Yup. Just the powder as it comes.

  • Get your piece of foil and run a lighter over both sides to get rid of the nasty coating - you'll see the vapours coming off it and you don't want that in your lungs.

  • Put a small pile on the foil - small so you don't waste loads and to limit accidental head-mashing oversize lungfuls.

  • Heat gently - lowest flame possible - to melt it and it will liquefy. You want to tilt the foil so it runs rather than just sitting in one place or it'll frazzle. Will give off loads of smoke as soon as it's heated and that's what you're chasing - suck up the vapour with your tooter (tube, straw or whatever you want to call it) as you chase the lil golden beetle.

  • How long it runs for depends on how hot your flame is (too hot is not good,) how much you put on (really don't advise too much at once - maybe 10mg or so) and how good your technique is. If it runs cleanly for a while before getting dark and tasting of burnt rubber then you're doing it right. Takes practice though - don't expect to get the hang of it instantly cos it can be fiddly. Trial and error, I'm afraid

  • Change tooter whenever you like but I don't like it getting too coated cos when you get down to smoking your tubes it's too concentrated and you lose loads. I try to change mine when the resin inside is somewhere between darkish yellow and chestnut coloured.

  • Change foil you're chasing from when you run out of clean area to use - no recycling those so chuck 'em cos they'll drive you mad when you're checking every bit of tinfoil in the house :D

Similar experience very fiddly to get to work at all and even if you do nothing special. I'd just stick to using the powder as it comes cos it works just fine :)

Yeah I assumed that would be the case but thought I may as well try it, ya know, just in case.

Please do report back (although I suspect that it did not magically turn into the sought-after "tan").

Me and a friend will be ingesting it on the way to town within the hour, I'll post a report here when I get back to an internet connection.

There's a really nice "How to chase..." guide here - they're talking about heroin and opium but the technique is the same for chasing anything really. Not much more to add to that cos it's the exact technique I - and many a junky who went before me - have used for years.

Aye it's a good description - however whomever put the pipe/tooter together wants a good dressing down IMO :\

It's a bit more elaborately crimped then I usually go for but more surface area the better for collecting resin, I find. I tend to go with a more sleek 'n' sexy conical kinda style affair myself but everyone has their own special version that's better than all the others - mine are the best though :D

I have my own tooter/pipe making technique - which I think is eminently suited to the task - I may be biased tho.

Conical is good - but only the faintest of cones - too much cone can = too much intake too quickly IME

Could anyone hazard a guess as to what has happened to my sample. It is now dried and has been crushed to produce a still slightly smelly tan powder.

Dissolving it in bottled water then evaporating it won't do anything except degrade it through exposure to the air and light, heating it won't help either. I actually did the exact same thing earlier today but using a more volatile solvent which evaporated in about a minute and watched it crystallise under a microscope - the end result was just the same as it was before it was dissolved...white.

Best thing to do with those empty baggies is lick them!

Is doing it in a spiral like that pic generally the done thing? I didn't know this hah

so do you make a new crease for each part of the spiral? what other methods are there?

that's what i meant by spirals, the shape you make with le gear
