[LSD Subthread] First time LSD

the party was going to be a roll/trip party so there wouldn't be a ny drunk people or anything but i still want my first time to be with less people.

Do what you want or you're gonna get screwed over.
One of my friends tricked me once, I dropped three cubes of fairly strong acid and thought I was going back to his house, he made us sleep out homeless in a park. I was freaking out the whole night. Maybe do it with some friends in a room, put Video Hits on the TV and knock back a couple of beers. Then you'll have fun.

I really love being with a group of people tripping. Sometimes one person will start laughing at someone, then the whole group will just keep laughing for minutes...AT NOTHING

It's really great

^Me and my mates once got caught in a loop of laughing real hard at nothing, then laughing at how hard the others were laughing...took over an hour to break the cycle.

I'm planning on trying lsd next weekend for the first time. I've had cannabis, mdma, amphetamines, cocaine but no psychedelics before...so I have no idea what to expect. I've hallucinated (audio and closed eye visuals) from injested cannabis but from what I've heard this will have been quite mild compared to lsd visuals. I'm wanting to start very very small so Im having half a tab of reportedly 'quite weak' acid. I understand that each tabs dose may be different but this is one from the same batch so I'm hoping it's around the same. Im also debating about mixing mdma with lsd but im in two minds as if its good mdma it could make me more relaxed, open to the experience and take the edge off the comeup..but if (as per usual) its got other additions and is shit it could potentially make me ill and ruin the experience.

Anyway what Im really asking for and what I've stuggled to find an exact description of on here is what lsd actually feels like..especially on the come up. I know you trip/have strange thoughts etc but what does your mind feel like the moment it starts to kick in? Is the comeup intense and hardhitting or a gradual shift in consciousness? And do you get the heavy, stoned, hazy feeling you get with high dose cannabis or the relatively clear headed..but altered mental status of mdma? I want to be prepared as possible as im always quite anxious trying new drugs and its usually the comeup that freaks me out if im not prepared for how it will feel...do you feel more dissassociated or high? Also what can I expect from such a low dose? I know it dosent seem like much but Id much rather take too little and take more later than take way too much and be fucked!..what im hoping for at that dosage is mild visuals/altered consciousness with euphoria and a general taster of what the drug feels like.

Thanks :)

Small doses of LSD?

I am hoping to acquire some hits of acid this week in prep for my Christmas Holiday. I've never tried it before, but I'm confident I'll be okay coming from really good shrooms and Salvia experiences. However what would happen if I tried maybe 1/4th of a hit? I just want to gauge the power before I attempt a full dose. Will it just be a waste? Will it affect my trip in the upcoming week or two? How often can you really trip from acid without a diminished experience?

If I were you I'd just drop the acid alone... maybe hit some weed after you start feeling it. I took ~1/4th of a hit of relatively good acid my first time... to me the comeup felt exactly like the hazy/dreamy part of a weed high, except less intense.

About 30 minutes after I took it, I noticed that the walls and lights and floors of my building seemed different. I wasn't hallucinating or anything, they just seemed more surreal (I'm sure you've experienced that before on weed). About an hour and a half in I was spacing out a lot and getting the dreamy feeling that I get on weed. I realized it hit me (but since it was such a small dose, it wasn't intense at all), and then I took 5 or 6 bong rips of good weed... after that I felt like I started peeking (but, again, no vivid hallucinations). When I knew it hit me, I had my head resting on my hands, and I was very slightly swaying back and forth. I felt like a boy on top of a hill, sitting in the wind, talking with my roommates -- I was inside my apartment on my couch... (and I was conscious of where I was). As far as disassociation goes, it was more like, "I feel like I'm in this environment right now, but I can see and tell that I'm actually on my couch."

It was just kind of relaxing and spacy with such a low dose (plus the weed). I ended up spending an hour drawing pictures on my phone with the touch screen.

I would say that it was slightly more euphoric than weed, kind of just enhanced. It was good enough that I wanted to try it again asap.

If I could describe acid in one small sentence (which I can't), I would say that it is like taking your imagination, making it slightly more visual, and slowing it down. At least in the low dose that I tried.

Not a total waste. Check out our Low Dose LSD Appreciation thread. A dose like a 1/4 hit though likely would only give you nootropic effects (barely threshold).

1 whole average hit would be considered a low dose.

When guaging the strength of hit general practice is to just take the 1 hit. From there in order to have a real trip you can guage how many hits you want to take. A real trip is likely going to take more than one hit. Of course that all depends on the strength of your hits. If you are lucky enough to have scored a 200ug hit, 1 is all you need but that is unlikely, especially in North America.

I'd say just take the 1 hit as a tester. You need to wait at least a week to trip again. I find to trip again with "full magic" you need to wait at least a month.

Yeah I agree with Pepper. If you want to test it, test just one full hit. You won't really get a feel for how it is off of just a 1/4 hit. If you've got salvia and fungus trips under your belt then one hit should certainly be no problem.

Agreed, I find taking a half a hit provides you with only slightly noticable effects but any less than that I can't really feel.

I'd suggest taking one hit and if you feel comfortable and want a little more of the experience try smoking some grass on it.

id say low dose would be no bueno, at that dose all youd feel would be a little body high, probably just feel like agitation more than anything else

first timer needs advice

Hey!

I've been preparing for my first LSD trip by reading a lot of erowid, bluelight and watching some documentaries. Have been wanting to do it for quite some time now. I still haven't acquired it, but have some hopes of getting it soon (hopefully the real thing, not some DOx or whatever) :).

Anyways, here's my little problem. I live at a place where it's really cold atm and that leaves me basically only one place to trip at - my gf's apartment, since I myself live with parents and they almost never leave home for long enough durations.
My gf will be leaving to her family in another town for a while, so I thought I could trip at her place, alone. But I'm worried about two things at her place:
1. She has a cockatoo, which sometimes starts squealing quite loud when it wants attention (food or something else) and I'm worried it might freak me out and I wouldn't know how to react. Or would it actually be an interesting experience?
2. She has a "dumb" woman for her neighbour, who yells at her children quite often, which creates negative emotions even when sober, so I can imagine how it could impact me when tripping.
Would you consider these as big enough problems not to trip at her place (especially being alone) and should I try to convince my gf to be my sitter for these reasons?

I sure am not going to wait till summer just to trip outside, tho. So I'm not even sure which advice you could give me other than reassuring that these problems wouldn't actually be problems. :)

Thanks in advance.

If you bundle up I imagine you'd quite like tripping out in nature... maybe have your GF's as a place to stay if you're uncomfortable. You could also do it during the wee hours of the night... I'm sure you could work a way around most problems yourself, but you can also just be patient. :)

1/4 hit would be like eating one small shroom stem.. i would just eat the whole dose for a trip similar to eating most of 1/8th of shrooms depending on the potency..

Thanks for the answer! I still believe the outside tripping wouldn't be a very good idea, since it's cold as hell here atm and that would make it uncomfortable quite fast (hands & face freezing, nose running etc) :P

And about doing it at night. I'm worried I might get very vocal at some point for whatever reason and that would disturb the neighbours (her apartment has quite thin walls).

I actually really wanted someone experienced with LSD comment on those two problems I mentioned before. Do you think those could affect ones first trip in a negative way or is too subjective to even comment on?

After thinking about it a bit myself I concluded that whatever makes you doubt has a chance of affecting your trip. Right? :P

This is your first trip? Cool. Glad to hear the tribe has another member :)

But wait, you're doing it yourself? Hmm.... As an experienced tripper, I can definitely tell you that this is something to reconsider. I've never had a "sober sitter" with me, but have always had at least one other person along for the ride. I can definitely tell you right now, that the company is your safety net.

I once tripped with a large-ish group at my place, during which event everybody except my brother decided to go to Maccas (they had one sober person driving and one incredibly irresponsible tripper driving - I don't hang around with that guy much), and both cars were full, so I end up left alone, at home, because I was "too slow to get a seat". It was hell, until my brother had the presence of mind to sit me in front of the Xbox and start a game for me.

Without that I would have panicked. (That said, abandonment usually leaves me feeling VERY apprehensive)

I don't recommend tripping alone for your first time; however at an absolute minimum you will need to have the ability to get in contact with someone sympathetic to your situation.

On the topic of your two points:

1) Dealing with animals can be a little tricky, but if you're fairly familiar with it you should be fine. You probably won't know how to react though, since that happens even with human-to-human communication while tripping.

2) This is a show-stopper in my books. This is exactly the kind of thing that can turn a benign / positive trip into a spiral-dive. If you can't guarantee that this won't happen, don't put yourself in this situation. Especially on your first time. You were warned.

Thank you SO much for your response. I got my questions answered and I believe you made some very nice valid points.

I now am thinking of waiting for a situation, where I can have a good friend of mine as sitter for me (a very nice person, who I enjoy to be around most of the time).
