Any thoughts on weekend shows similar to the Sessions shows? There are a lot of people who would like a taste of that juxtapoze soup, but they work early on wednesdays.

give it some time...we're shooting for something "underground" that's not in a bar/club venue. intimate "invite-only" steez...not on the list? you don't get in ;)

how's that sound?
 
George, I haz suggestion. I think we should do a live webcast from Tuesday night. Audio/Video feed. Could be lucrative.

you can get a prepaid wireless card at a gas station for $100, I'd contribute to that as well as minutes to use for the weekly. I can't leave my laptop there for the whole night would be the drawback. Would need a dedicated puter. I think it's a do-able thing. Why not let our friends around the world in on the beauty of Juxtapoze :D

the idea is great but there are other things that take priority before we can commit to a weekly webcast ie we start generating more revenue than we are spending. between my wallet getting stolen and the general mismanagement of funds we are in the red at the moment :( i basically spent the last of the money we have on foursquare's deposit...saying that i think we're down to $50.

if you want to donate a contribution to the cause i suggest you throw down money on equipment-oriented necessities like a dedicated mixer/decks, xlr cables, a new sub, etc etc etc. even though it's a novel idea i think everybody can agree (without a committee ruling) that spending money on a pre-paid wireless card to stream a live audio/video feed is at this point not a logical step to take when there are so many other things to get off the drawing board first.

but...it is a great idea. we'll just add it to the "to do" list and gear for something like that in the spring.

promote like a motherfucker every chance you get!!! the more heads in the door the more money we have to play with. pass out flyers, interweb spam, text messages...every resident, for that matter, should be going out once or twice a week if possible and passing out fliers, going to other weeklies etc to get the word out. and even if you've been to that same spot before, GO AGAIN!!

i know it's hard with work and everything...trust me i feel the pinch on a daily basis trying to do everything i can to help keep Juxtapoze in the collective consciousness of indy's scenester crowd. so even though i empathize with everybody's schedule conflicts and priorities i'm still doin' it as much as i possibly can despite the financial conflict...

gotta spend money to make money, right?

We've definitely kicked around the idea of broadcasting on Tuesdays. I'm pretty sure the Mel has nets. Pretty sure Monkey uses it (when he's there).

Only thing is having a laptop to broadcast with every week. Anybody wants to volunteer that... I'm sure it could get handled.

I'm pretty sure there is no wireless/wired internet at the mel...at the very least we can start recording sets every week.
 
Big Ups to ALL of you for continuing this tradition for as long as I can remember. I've got mad respect for all of you up @ the Mel for keeping things going like you do. LOVE IT! Though a lot of you really don't know me (Damn Anti-social Anxiety BS). I don't come out to often but plan to see my ass more and more supporting you guys @ the Mel. PROPS!

I actually have an extra Dell lappie you faggorz can borrow. I mean, it's like a 2005 model Dell 2515 or some shit, but it's barely used and it works and shit.

My only fee would be for someone to put the 2GB RAM memory in it. I've been meaning to upgrade the RAM, bought the RAM, but can't be arsed to ram the RAM.

Edit. That said, try not to get it stolen. I've Serato 3 that I eventually want to put on it.
