Bupe Subutex Has Gone Generic

Subutex Has Been Generic

Subutex has been Generic for over a month now. Roxane Labs, Buprenorphine SL, round tab. Check my post from yesterday, under Buprenorphine. The price initially was under 3 dollars (w/out insurance) in October and just a week ago has almost tripled, at least where I live. If you don't have it at your local pharmacy, request it.

Ridiculously enough when I dropped off my scrip 6 days ago for generic subutex the pharmacy told me $65, when I came back to pick it up today, 6 days later, it was $194, I asked why & she said they just go by whatever the computer tells them the price is. WOW, now don't get me wrong, I'm in no way complaining, it is still nearly HALF of what suboxone was costing from the same pharmacy. I was a little disappointed, although I was relieved it actually came in with the shipment today since I've been hearing rumors of it being completely unavailable until January from the pharmacy that ordered it for me (walgreens) and got it delivered (6 days later).

I'm just wondering though, I called Wal Mart pharmacy and they told me that they can't order it because it's not on their 'list' or whatever? Is that okay, or do they HAVE to find a way to order something for a customer? It just seemed weird to me that such a large company would tell me to go somewhere else (especially when someone posted in another state they had gone to Wal Mart for it) and that's almost word for word what the pharmacist said to me on the phone 8)

Everywhere i've called around my area either tries to tell me "there's no such thing as generics" or "they have no idea when they'll get in"

so lame. the glory of being labeled a junkie in the bible belt! woot!

jesus... im really sorry you guys, thats just fucked up.

keep calling pharmacies. i know that when i first filled my script at the walgreens i go to i had to explain to them that there WAS a generic and that it was brand new and that i didnt know about it either until my doctor told me about it. try and be polite and understanding, no matter how unfair it seems. that way they may actually look into it and you may actually get what you need for a fair price. some mom and pop shops around here are able to get it . and though they do charge a LOT more than walgreens, its still cheaper than brand name. good luck! and dont give up!

im in So Fla and so far prices havent changed, though availability is becoming a problem. my last script they were only able to fill half because its a new generic and the supply apparently doesnt meet the demand.

however they did tell me that they should be getting the rest of my script in today, so we'll see if they were bs-ing or not when i call. hopefully they wont try to charge me more than what i paid for the first half of my script 6 days ago...

more bad news, folks.

1 week ago it cost me $35 to fill (15) generic subutex 8mg at walgreens.

today i went back to fill the remaining (15) on my script at walgreens and it cost $66. they raised the price, no doubt.

also, the reason i had to wait a week to get the other half of my script is because walgreens is having a very tough time obtaining the pills from the manufacturer. my pharmacist had to put a special order in to get the rest of my pills. he said that's because the DEA has a limit on the amount any company can order and walgreens already surpassed that limit.

sounds strange, especially since they were able to get my pills anyway... but that's what i was told by my pharmacist. im usually good at spotting a lie, but i believe him...

I got my 1st generic script of Subutex and it was about ahundred dollars less than the regular price. Is it me, or are these new round pills much harder and do not even disolve in water very easiley like the regular B8s did.

They don't dissolve quickly at ALL, in fact I nearly vomit everyday when I have to let it dissolve. I was used to the lovely lemon lime flavor of subox's prior to these. These are really bad tasting, slow dissolving, and I don't feel quite as okay as I did a few days ago. It's probably all in my head, but I feel like I need 2mgs-4mgs more to feel the same as I did a week ago.. I wonder if I'm the only one. :p

interesting..the walgreens in cali seemed to have no problem ordering them for me. i wasn't able to afford my whole scrip all at once though. The prices sound exactly the same as here, it was about $87 for (20) generic 8mg at walgreens.

right, the prices in CA and FL are the same now... but just one week ago in FL it was half the price! so they probably raised it everywhere.

and yeah, when i switched i also had to take 2mgs-4mgs extra per day. i have no idea if its psychosomatic or if the generic just doesnt absorb as well. but now that im used to the generic im back to my old dose. im actually trying to get down to 2mgs per day so ill get a better buzz.

makes sense why they told me it was cheaper when I dropped it off and then when I came back to get a week later it was definitely more expensive. oh well, STILL much cheaper anyway!

I bet it's the way the generics absorb, hopefully I'll be able to go down to a lower dose again soon also. :)

I think I'm going to try these relatively soon. Have you guys tried breaking up/crushing the tablet before putting it under your tongue, or are you putting it there whole? That will have a huge impact on absorption. I assume you guys are, but you didn't specify, so I may as well ask.

While I cannot get my doc to prescribe subutex, I wouldn't foresee a problem obtaining the med if I had the script. I use a hometown pharmacy that never stocked suboxone, but they had no problem getting it for me. There is a difference between asking if a pharmacy carries a drug and if they can get it. Every pharmacy I've ever used has been more than happy to stock meds prescribed to their customers.

I didn't think it would be a problem either, some pharmacies it doesn't seem to be and others it has been an issue. Wal Mart straight up told me to go somewhere else because they didn't carry any Subutex at all. Which is bull CRAP because someone posted that Wal Mart in another state ordered it for them. I don't know if the guy was just having a bad day or what... :\

i duno how to post my own pic but these are what i picked up at CVS 8mg BUPERNOPHINE #35 price $20. white round 54 & 411 on one side and blank on the other.

mandotory the price is with insurance not outa pocket. soo ya there prolly really only like $100 dif in the generic to the subutex at cvs, i herd walgreens is cheaper just so hapend i was fillin the rest of my old script, so this is my first time with the generic subutex and they are not bad (thankfully no talc). varry hard to break up if ur doing halfs, sum tuff mutha fuckas. oo ya the state is FL. wallgreens said they would order it just need the script so ima try there next. hope that helped - peace

Yes, I break them up as small as bossible(actually I might bang them most often). They are just much harder to disolve under your tounge or even in some water. Iv never had an orange, but the name brand B8 Subutex Rickets and Beckets is way better than the generic Roxane labs ones.....if I had the money to throw away Id get the name brand.

thanks for clarifying that 5 star, I assumed it had to have been with insurance, you lucky ducky! Agreed with all that they are VERY hard to break/crush, slow dissolving. I break into about 10 pieces beforehand so it's not as disgusting and doesn't dissolve as slowly. Nasty hard little tabs. :\

The couple times I've tried tamgesic .2mg I hated it. It kept me up and the euphoria was opiate-like, but missing just about everything I enjoy about oxy.

I have almost no tolerance whatsoever, so .2mg actually kicked me pretty hard in the ass. Too bad the high was just about the shittiest thing in the world.

Just my general take on bupe. Not sure why I felt like sharing it in this thread.. just felt like it. Carry on.
