Yeah I wasn't saying it's fool-proof, it obviously isn't! I'm just saying its as tried and tested as the other method.

I know a lot of people that just hold it in their mouth while they walk through and have never been caught. This is to a lot of festivals too, not just the odd one or two.

What you said about no pass-outs is right, I don't think I've been to a festival or rave that has had pass-outs? Not one of the big ones anyway.
 
being devils advocate in here- the best way to be not caught taking drugs into a festival is surprisingly not taking them into a festival!!

over the years i have seen numerous mates get very anxious leading up to festival time as they have to traverse the gates and sniffer dogs that accompany the summer festival scene. Most have now gotten to a point where rather than taking the obligatory large amounts of substances in; they will take small enough amounts in to end the night on a high. Funny thing is most have agreed that these are the more memorable concerts for them!! :)

another thing worth noting is that the scrutiny does not end at the other side of the gates- if you get through and look like your gurning off the planet well theres a good chance you will get noticed :)

i think taking a measured approach all round; makes drug use less obvious to scrutiny, puts you at less risk from harm (including taking a lot of a substance in fear of being caught), limits the potential for charges should you be caught with a substance on you.

Definitely, The LE has tightened over the years so much so that it's becoming more and more common to get busted by sniffer dogs at these festivals.
Take less in, save it for your main highlight/act.. even if you do get caught the charges will be minimal in comparison to been caught with larger amounts.

I stopped going to the festivals after the last BDO.. it's just not worth the risk.. i saw Prodigy on MDMA, which i never thought would happen, so i can happily end it ;)

so i suppose techniques/methods/different ways of storing your pills is just going to have the same outcome if not worse. i guess just bag em, hide them somewhere on you, and if you get sniffed so what ? just deny it. im sure heaps of people who had no drugs on them whatsoever got sniffed only difference is they had nothing to hide. i guess it's just how you wanna act.

my friend an her brother were passing through sniffers an he got pulled aside, patted down, had nothing and kept on going (this was in the city though, no festival)
while she was there she said she noticed the girl infront of her got sniffed and had hidden her baggie in her dreadlocks :) thought that was kinda cool..
 
My suspicion personally, is that whether the dog sniffs you has nowhere near as much to do with it as how you react to being sniffed. If you're polite, don't freak out or show visible signs of nervousness, empty your pockets and treat the officers with respect, I'd say your chances of being taken in for a strip search are fairly minimal.

Obviously except for madmick19's post. Can't get caught if ya don't have anything on ya. (+1 for thats not fun though :P )

Can't emphasize this post enough. The amount of times I have seen young drug dogs fail to alarm over people I KNOW are carrying drugs is astounding. The majority of people who get busted by dogs are doe to obvious physical signs of nervousness that the handlers are trained at picking up.

You just have to watch the dog next time you see them, especially when they are searching a large line where many people are likely to be carrying drugs. They freak out, wether it be the array of smells, the number of people around them or something else, it is not uncommon to see a dog run about madly sniffing and in his excitement fail to alert his handler.

Stay cool, don't be obvious and your chances of being caught are reduced drastically. Now, if only the above was as easy to do as it is to type :P

Although it probably isnt the smartest idea to mix alcohol and stimulant drugs I have a little tip to make it easier to remain calm around police. Just have afew beers before you go and this will hopefully help you relax alittle and take the edge off. Has always worked for me. Or you could time a short acting benzo to wear off while youre inside the event but have it in effect while youre qetting to the venue.

That would be my advice too, if you're someone who can't control their nervousness or anxiety around the police.

Midazolam. It's the shortest acting benzo I know of. ~30min onset and effects lasting ~1.5hrs. Only problem is it has an amnesia affect**, even more then some other benzos. My advised would be to be careful if you were to use this. Definitely don't drink alcohol or any other depresents (opiods) - the usual benzo risks :). Just because of the amnesia affect; wouldn't want to take it, stand in line and a few hours later realise you're not actually in a club but in the back of a police van.



**Often used as a pre-op drug. Especially good for children who regularly have to have ops as it allows them to forget the trauma of the operation.
 
^Except where the f$&^ are you going to get midazolam? Actually the whole benzo idea is a crock. If you're going to go rx then maybe some beta blockers (propanolol) - but maybe a little bit of deep breathing would do the trick.

Alternatively - hire a stooge (carrying nothing) to stand next to you and then go apeshit around the dog - while he's being carted off for the full cavity search, you and your mates amble (relatively) calmly onwards...

No one said anything about availability. I was just giving suggestions =D Regardless, as the saying goes, "it's who you know". Read: not impossible.

Good idea re a beta blocker drug, didn't even think of that :\ Am curious as to why you'd suggest this over a benzo (not that I'm disagreeing with you :) ).

And yes, deep breathing/meditation type techniques would be best however it'll be much easier to pop a pill then go through hours of learning how to do this %) . Plus it would come down to owns personality. Some people are generally highly strung or can't handle pressure (of worrying about being caught with drugs)
 
^ Yeah I get the highly strung types - hence the suggestion of an even more highly strung decoy!!

I suggest propanolol because there are less likely to be issues re dose titration (a la your "waking up in the back of the divvy van" scenario). But I'd be scared they might effect my fun in whatever event I was waiting to get into (same with benzos actually).

Propanolol has a relatively low half-life though so I guess it wouldn't be too bad.

Still a good idea though! I guess any GABA(-A) receptor agonist would work, really depends on to what degree you need. Some people might just need a few drinks.

question with the dogs, if the dogs sniffs you and sit next you or whatever, or the handler picks you out then is it just the officers discretion whether or not a strip search will take place?

I mean if youve hidden stuff taped to your body so it wont be felt in a pat down and the police look through your wallet etc. Then how common would it be to be taken for a further strip search and what would influence this decision?

Just wondering after a guy posted in the Defqon thread saying he was strip searched after a dog reaction

well if you are taking coke into the adelaide event then unless the dog is trained in benign crap you'll be sweet =D
