[LSD Subthread] First time LSD

Why are you so incredulous of a mere 0.5 mg hit? Is it really that mind boggling? Yes, it's unheard of, but it happened. Those people's weed and ice were equally insanely good. Learn to practice acceptance of the things you cannot change, and you'll ultimately be a lot happier and more well adjusted.

I also know several people who've taken--free--thumbprints, and a couple of five dollar 500 microgram hits is nothing compared to a thumbprint, free or otherwise.

In my mind, pretty much all credibility goes out the window when one mentions the word "thumbprint". Sorry Rectify:\
It makes no sense to take a thumbprint. 5-ht2a receptors become saturated after about 1.5mg. After that you're just wasting a precious compound.

dude try living in Australia, seems like we're 2 decades behind the states in drug availability, at least in the US if you live in a state that's crap for psychedelics you can drive to another state that isn't

Ultimate Preparation

I'm preparing for my first excursion into the wonderful world of LSD, planning out every angle to create the perfect set and setting.

I have prepared by attaining a perfect Friday, free from any of my life's authority. I am going to be with my two greatest friends who I have known for roughly six or seven years, who I feel completely comfortable being emotionally and mentally susceptible in front of. I am going to take the substance at what I consider my favorite place, a large hill in a small field, at my favorite time of day, which is deep in the night when all that is heard is the quiet dead of the bustling city and the soft gentle breeze. To the best of my knowledge, this is what I can consider a perfect setting.

I also am going to load up a backpack with creative essentials; two pads of paper, lined and blank, two pencils, two thick gel pens (my favorite), a box of crayons, a zune with music and video, and a camcorder to record any thoughts and such. I'll of course throw in any necessities such as water or food if we get hungry.

Though, I am wondering what I should do as far as physical preparation. Since I plan to do it at night, I am going to anticipate staying up the whole night. I want to achieve this without discomfort, so I've planned to avoid all caffeine Thursday and Friday as well as eating three well rounded meals. I also plan to get 9 or 10 hours of sleep Thursday night and take a three to four hour nap roughly eight hours before the trip.

Should I be good as far as staying awake and lively throughout the night? I also wonder what I should aim for or avoid in those meals, as far as vitamins and minerals go.

I feel silly for so much preparation, but I intend for this to be a one-time-thing, and I want everything I can control to be perfect.
 
The side-effect of ultimate preparation would be ultimate expectation. It's great that you want to control everything you can as long as you also accept everything that you can not control as well as staying open to basically all kinds of unexpected experiences.

I've had disappointing results from trips in which I wanted to steer the basic aspects of the trip, countless times I prepared lots of music and planned on drawing and either forgot I had it or was just found it pretty lame... So: don't try to stick too close to the plan, only make sure you have something to do as a backup.
The best times are the trips in which I am completely captivated by the most mundane and unexpected things. Much better than something that tries to live up to your expectations. Free play is magical, preset plans are old conditioning.

I respect that this is your second post and also your second thread but I would appreciate it if you would participate in broader discussion also :)
 
I understand and am completely open to the unexpected destination of the trip, which is why I am so excited. I don't want any negativity so my mind is not trapped in my own worry.

I'm sorry I haven't much participated in the community haha. I am just not very experienced in LSD and don't much enjoy the ecstasy culture. I skipped this thread after reading the discussion on the first page and it seemed like more of a free discussion rather than a first time LSD thread haha.

The subject has come along more than once though, sometimes a little more in general and other times questions about a personally adapted situation a bit like yours... it's part here and in loose threads and the acid thread etc. etc.
But I'm only trying to help dude, of course your question about your situation is welcome and I hope others will just as well comment on it :)

LSD can teach you more than what you will probably get out of one trip....

Your plan sounds pretty good, although peaking at sunset is pretty beautiful.....

Don't forget a flashlight or some source of light, i have wandered around the woods on 500ug, and 250mg MDMA without any source of light other than my cell phone and while it was interesting, i would rather have had a flashlight because i got lost as fuck there for a little while....

As far as food to bring, go with fresh fruit.... Pineapple is wonderful, a fruit salad is like an adventure for your taste buds.... and honestly fruit is really the only thing i enjoy eating on acid.... Meat products just feel wrong, and vegetables just lack the flavor.... Oh and for drink, any type of fruit juice is wonderful...

Dont worry so much about your meals ahead of time, eat a pretty decent meal before your trip, something easy on the stomach..... Your probably not going to be hungry for a while, so eat a decent meal beforehand, and snack on fruits and whatnot during the trip.... There isn't a lot of vitamin preloading as far as LSD is concerned.... You can trip face even when your diet sucks, i tripped an entire weekend on a multitude of designer drugs, mushrooms, and nitrous living on oranges, poprocks, pixie sticks, 2 pancakes, and various other invented snackstuffs while tripping like the oatmeal cream pie sandwich filled with fruit snacks and pop rocks....

as far as staying awake goes, expect sleep to not come very easily for about 14 hours after dosing.... I can trance out, close my eyes and open them hours later feeling like it was just a short time but i really can not call that sleep..... I can do this on every psych i have tried it with, even DOM which is speedy as fuck.....

For some reason I have always hated sunset. It just feels like an awkward time between having a great day with friends and waiting for sleep time to enter another great day.

Yeah, which is why I want being awake to be without discomfort. I've heard stories from friends who described their body begging for sleep in complete exhaustion, but they were tripping too hard to be able to fall asleep.
 
meh.... try attending a festival and doing a 3 day psych binge....

in my opinion the mind will fall apart faster than the body will....

1 night without sleep due to LSD is not going to wear you out....

For 3 days i lived off oranges, pancakes, various candy, fruit snacks, designer drugs, mushrooms, nitrous and pot.... 3 days of tripping, with hardly anything i could call sleep.... Speedy psychedelic drugs tend to make the mind beg for rest before the body... 3 days of no sleep and lots of psychedelics and even the fairly balanced individuals kind of start to fall apart....

In comparison to MDMA, what will its effect on music be like?
Enhancement of music was what drew me to MDMA so much.
 
I'm not that fond of music while on MDMA, gets in the way of all that talking and bonding.

LSD and music though. . . OH SHI-

Heh, awesome. If you can, crack it up as high as you can and really get into it. It's fun to drown out all but one sense which is being overstimulated while tripping.
