Ya I'd say that would do it. If you do go that route you may want to take less oxy than usual. The diphen will make the oxy more noddy. You may even want to try some with the oxy before hand to see how it treats ya.

One last thing is you can get diphen in store brand sleep aids. It's alot cheeper than benadryl and is the exact same thing. Just make sure the only ingredient is diphenhydramine and you got a winner.

well the thing is, i really dont get itches with oxy only sometimes and its where i already have cuts or scratches

Don't take any NSAID's including aspirin so no percodan's. Since percodan (aspirin and oxycodone) is rarely prescribed anymore because they script percocet which has acetaminophen and oxycodone in it's place you should have no worries. Acetaminophen is not a NSAID and won't thin your blood so any opiate combination with that in it is fine.

As for the itch i would highely recomend getting some hydroxyzine for it. Hydroxyzine is much better then diphenhydramine (benadryl) at controlling itching caused by anything. It's prescription only which sucks but it can also be bought easily off the net. Also most doctors don't care about prescribing it. Diphenhydramine will help the itch a good bit just not as good as hydroxyzine.

Itching at the tattoo site was actually the worst thing for me. When it starts to heel up and it starts to peel it itchies like crazy. Or atleast it did to me. Also remember to keep that polysporin/polytopic on the tattoo because it prevents infection and reduces scaring. Do not scratch it or peel any of the skin off yourself as this causes scaring. Just let nature run it's course.

so in summary, oxycontin alone (an OC 80 purdue) and some bong rips with a Hydroxyzine tablet will make this tattoo session reasonable? This is my 1st tattoo and dont know what to expect but i hear stories of people throwing up, passing out, etc.. when getting tattoo on their ribs because of the pain

i am goin to go to the dr tomorrow and tell him i am getting a tatoo and was wondering if i could get a small prescription to hydroxyzine temporarily.

But, i can say that i got a tattoo in the same area, and went stone cold sober, and to be honest, the pain wasn't nearly as bad as i thought!! Mine was also done over scar tissue & radiation burns, and yeah, that hurt a bit, but now when i look at it, i'm even prouder of it, because of what it symbolises and knowing i felt the pain, to enjoy the beauty!! If you go in thinking its gonna be extremely painful, the pain isn't half what you expect!! Feel the pain mate (seriously not that bad), its worth it!!!

Turn on the t.v. and theres a million commercials for pills, We want what we want and we wanted it yesterday. No wonder every damn kid in highschool right now pops some kind of pill.

I like the pain from a tattoo and pain from other things too, not a fetish really just a fascination with the natural dopamine being released.

I had mine done meth the first time, d-amp the second time. stims see to make pain not a concern, like you know it hurts, but it doesnt bother you.
at least for me

and they constrict blood vessels, thus less blood coming out.

I got my first one done sober so I could know what it was all about... since then all work has been done while I'm on painkillers. I find that it doesn't help the immediate pain that much but it makes you care about the pain a lot less & overall makes for a more enjoyable experience. Note that this is planned work, not impulsive things because I was already high.. also I've never been seriously impaired/nodding out, only take as much as I need for a buzz/pain relief.

LOL "a needle at the doctor"... Tattoo's are lots of needles going in to the skin at the same time, so of course its gonna hurt more!! But generally the needles u get at the doc are into a muscle, or under the skin into fat, most tat's aren't done on the same areas, so Yep it woulda hurt more!!!

Honestly I find opiates really do NOTHING for my tattoo pain & trust me I have atleast 70+ hours getting tattoo'd. I have 2 full sleeves, my chest plate, a back piece that's 75% of my back, and both legs completely covering both my calf areas. My arms alone took a year for each of them start to finish. But they fully cover shoulders to wrists. I had all my tattoo's done at a very nice professional shop with a great artist.

Also on a side note I found it funny that someone said there friend tipped there tattoo guy with Vicodin. That's exactly what I used to do because my mom worked for a dentist and he'd write me scripts knowing I'd use them to tip my tattoo guy and even sometimes simply pay him with a bottle of Vicodin ES 7.5/750's. Ahhh the good days before I moved and my mom switched dentists. He used to write me Vicodin ES and Soma's every few weeks if I asked him. He didn't care at all.

But personally go ahead and take opiates if you want but I find it makes no difference. I had plenty of tattoo's sober as could be. The only time I purposely tried to take opiates was when I sniffed 2 OC 80's before I did my arm pits and it still hurt like holy hell and I felt it made no difference in pain. It won't hurt your tattoo like alcohol will from making you bleed too much. I even IV'd heroin before and went and had a tattoo session an hour later and still it did little to really numb anything. I didn't do it to help the tattoo pain though, I did it because I was addicted to H and didn't think I could wait till later to get my fix lol

Anyways learn to LOVE it. I think taking the pain gets so addicting after awhile when you really get into tattoo's. Before you know it it's like a drug (as are tattoo's) and you end up like me going every week for your fix. Just really plan your tattoo's out, find a GOOD artist not an average one, and don't tattoo dumb crap on you. Your making me wish for a session right now. It's been about 2 months since I've worked on a tattoo and I used to go for weekly fixes. Hmmmmm i might make a call today.

I believe if your going to do something, be safe about it.

I agree 100% but It won't help either way. I've had a lit of tattoo sessions, litterally 70+ hours total my whole life. Same great artist too actually, and pain killers do nothing. Even when I was a heroin addict and i'd shoot up in the mornings and get tatted at noon it didn't help. It felt the same as being completely sober I was just more relaxed about it and not so tense. Personally you learn to LOVE that feeling anyways. At least I do. Man up and enjoy the pain.

I always found the best cure for mental pain your going through in your life is some physical pain in good doses. A nice 4 hours session can really really help me rid my mind of mental pain ive been having by releasing it through physical pain and shoving it all into a beautiful piece art so it can be reborn as something positive. I love tattoos and I love the meaning behind all of mine. I can look at so many different ones and different parts of my sleeves and other tattoo's and remember exactly what I was going through and overcame during the different parts of my life they were done.

LOVE THE PAIN! ENJOY IT! But opiates will NOT hurt you from taking them which was the original question and it's answered. Opiates have no effect on your body, skin, blood, etc. that would cause problems with the tattoo or the healing process. All I have to say is don't use something dumb like neosporin on your tattoo afterwards. After care while healing is just as important for your tattoo as you health when you get it. Euracin Aquaphore is the best stuff i've ever found for healing tattoo's. Even my Dr. loves the stuff because it even helps you regenerate skin cells. Aquaphore rocks. My sleeve is 2+ years old and the colors are so bright people ask me if it's new all the time. It seriously looks new still. Take good care of your tattoo's there forever

^good post. and yeah you def learn to love and even enjoy the pain after a while. tbh i totally forget that my tats are gonna hurt right up until just before they hook up the needle...then i'm like, oh yeah, there may be some pain involved lol.

Very true and you only have one option. Deal with it. The other one is not an option for me. I've had marathon sessions before where we did 8 to 10 hours in a day and it's those sessions that hurt. When your skins been so beat to hell it's that just meat left from going ove rit so many times. That's what hurt because the skin is just so irritated all ready.

It honestly can feel bruised afterwards I've noticed after sessions like that. My armits and biceps felt real bruised as well as burning afterwards and stayed bruised feeling for over a day. Theres a lot of detail there so we spent 5 hours on that little spot. It got layered with stuff on the same areas so many times i thought there wouldn't be skin left.

If I had to say the spots that carried the worse pain i'd say armpits, elbows, and fatty parts towards the outside of my back on the back piece I have. Fattier areas always cause this indescribable burn. I love it though it's part of the whole tattoo ritual. Makes you feel good afterwards. You earn your ink & the experience stays with you. I've had some memorable sessions and it's due to the whole tattoo process including pain. I bet in 30 years I'll remember them just by looking at my tattoo's. It honestly was like therapy for me. Physical pain to cleanse the mental pain out of my body.

I got most my larger tattoo projects like my sleeves and back piece during tough times of my life where i had to overcome something and was either in the process or just overcoming it and releasing all the pain and embracing everything I had learned from the situation and i'd start large tattoo session of something memorable and meaningful to me, and in my mind I know it's also a symbol to me, of a time in my life where I overcame something I needed to and grew as a person.

I always had a good reason why I needed to start a tattoo project and wha it meant to me and will always mean to me when I see it. Seeing my sleeve at times reminds me of how I overcame a situation I thought would kill me & it practically did for awhile. When I see that I know nothing bothering me at that moment can't be overcome if I could overcome that.

Sorry to ramble im stoned nut I honestly love tattoo's and the whole process. I seriously called my artist my "Therapist" for awhile because I seriously went like once a week to clear my head and he was a great guy to talk to as well as help me get some of that pain and tension release

I really dont need anymore posts about how i need to feel the pain or whatever.. thats not my objective with the dose of ox like i stated in previous threads. Although getting my rib cages tattoo for my first time is slightly panicking. Ive heard stories of people throwing up and passing out due to the pain, but when I dose on oxy it never eliminates pain it just relaxes me and 'delays' the pain to my head

Going tomorrow after work, supposed to be a 5 hour session ill have pictures up when its healed and all purty. %)

tomorrow I am going in for a tattoo on my chest, getting "Filius Deorum" in Old English.. translates to "God's Son"

I think I am going to take a couple of my prescribed anxiety pills and 20mg of a 30mg roxy.

I am expecting the pain. But it will be worth it in the end.
