What is relativly safe to mix with xanax?

I have just been put on xanax. In a few days I am going to a big music/freedom/drug festival. My plan is to only take doses but I am someone who in the moment tends to go all out. I will be on xanax during this time. I have mixed drugs in the past with xanax such as heroine, alcohol, marijuana, & lsd. But I at the time I really didn't care about any potential risks. Now I need to know what things would be a defenite no no while on xanax. Like I said I plan to only dose but there's a potential I may take the following drugs. Heroine, opium, ecstasy(slim chance), nitrous oxide (slim chance), crack, cocaine, oxy. Thanks in advance.
 
Ehh just don't take a shitload of xanax, you'll be fine if you keep it to a low roar. By this I mean 1mg or less at a time. Sounds like a time to be had, so have it. Just be safe while you smoke crack and shoot dope and pop some E! lol, be safe, that was a good one eh. But seriously just pace yourself and try not to get too impulsive.
 
The main things to avoid when on benzos are alcohol, opiates and other downers. Of course people do mix downers all the time, but that doesn't mean it's really safe. As long as you stay within your personal limits you should be okay - at least what you remember of it :D

Stims and psyches shouldn't be any problem, although psyches will be dulled down and stims will be less stimulating, of course. They're generally pretty safe to mix with benzos - if a lil pointless maybe - but adding extra downers can potentially be extremely dangerous. You could probably eat benzos all day and night with no physical problems but add a load of alcohol and/or opiates to the mix and the phrase "Death by misadventure" leaps to mind... Easy to get caught up in the moment at a festival but best to not go too crazy on the booze/opiates on top of Xanax - at least as much as possible.

I'd definitely avoid any heroin, opium, oxy, or other opiates on xanax. The risk of respiratory depression is simply too high. I'm not saying mixing E or coke with xanax is necessarily safe, but they'd be safer to mix than opiates. However since the xanax will mask some of the stimulatory effects of those drugs, be careful not to dose too high on stimulants trying to get the "normal" effect of them, since xanax won't help prevent the physiological dangers of stimulants, especially their impact on the heart, or dehydration, both of which are very real dangers when you are at a music festival and (presumably) dancing your ass off.
 
As Shambles said, no downers as a general rule, and the psychs will be less intense most likely.
 
It varies completely from person to person. I can take 40mgs OC or 4 Norcos, along with 4mgs Xanxies and 8mgs Klonopin... and some Soma (2-4)... at the same time... ...but I have a tolerance. I try not to do any recreational use anymore because I am studying to be a professional doctor so these types of activities don't correlate well tougher ;-) The point is, know your limits by slowly testing the dosages in small increments.

Well here's the thing: When I was younger I was a reckless motherfucker. I've taken handfuls of xanax on top of barbiturates alcohol and bupenorphine all in one night on numerous occasions also I've taken handfuls of xanax with barbitues alcohol and amphetamine salts and I have taken a moderate dose of xanax and klonopin with methadone a few times. I never got sick or had breathing troubles. I never plan to due anything like that again mind you, I've smartend up a tad.

Now does this mean that my limits are pretty far out there or that I am just a lucky bastard and shouldn't ever mix anything with xanax since I am more suceptable to trouble due to the damage I've done in the past?
 
More luck than anything else, I would say. We've all done silly things with stupid amounts of downers and survived but many don't - bit of a Russian Roulette kinda thing. You'll get away with it 99 time out of 100 but that last time you pass out, throw up, and never wake up :\

Any previous drug use (as in anything before the last week or so) shoudn't really make any difference to your current tolerance - just cos you used high doses years ago doesn't mean you still can. Best to start low and take it steady :)

Low dose upper maybe some alcohol say you took 1mg xanax and a couple beers although this is never really safe.
 
The only personal experiences i can relate to and say are no-no's would be alcohol =/..sure it will create great euphoria, until you black out =/.. If u do decide u are going to drink at all, make sure ur with some friends u can trust to look after you...Blacking out with no one around could be a possibly dangerous situation. =/


But kind off of topic, is the festival ur reffering to ''Hempfest'' ?
 
Another no-no is mixing a lot of Xanax with even more Xanax. Hide your pills after the first dose or have someone hold them for you. Lots of people wake up two days later with an empty bottle of pills on their floor not knowing how it got empty.
 
any high doses of cns depressants like alcohol or opiates can be potentially dangerous if you're also taking a lot of xanax, but if you just kleep the xanax for the comedowns, and take 1 or 2mg max you should be fine... i wouldn't take benzos during a psychadelic trip cause it sort of dulls the trip a bit...
 
I just cant believe no has said methadone. it is the Number one cause of benzo/downer od's and ill find the facts for it in a minute. ive seen em some where i just got to find it. I myself had full organ failure when my doc put me on xanax and didnt think about the methadone program i was on. and then since methadone has such a long half life and i was going back daily for my dose and it was building up and after the third day of daily doses i took my regular dose of xanax and when i went to sleep i woke up a week later on life support with full organ failure. Now im on dialysis treatments for my kidneys three time a week with a doctor bill over 300thou for a month and a half in the hospital. so be safe. Ive always been fine with one or two percs or some beers and of course weed. but take it easy and be safe.
Its also good food pulling your self out of a bad trip. chew it up and leave it under your tounge and 5 minutes later your at base 1.

More xanax. Alarmingly enough, this answers both contradictory questions in your original post.
