Is lacking the Juxtapoze myspace url, but perhaps this came about prior to the myspace profile creation:

the myspace is a stop-gap for now. Suppose I could have put it on there, but I plan on having the basics of an 'official' site up and partially working for next month's flyer.

I would still optimize early, a banner of the Juxtapoze brand afixed in stage "Camera Shot"; photos of events would then reinforce the brand, separating it's photo's from those of past events in the same venue and rapidly increasing the overall visability of the event.

It's being worked on - frankly tho the whole 'look' of the night from a branding perspective is still having the kinks worked out , so no sense in investing in a banner just yet. The flyers, however, are ran with the intent of being somewhat different month to month - a juxtaposition of styles if you will. You'll see what I mean with next month's flyer. Some may argue that is dilution of a brand, which it is to an extent - but they are also disposable branding, so I feel the impact isn't as much when compared to items such as the website, signage or even perhaps some low-run merch.

And, I'm bringing a huge stack of these with me tonight - so grab some and get them out there for the last two of the month!

Nice. While myspace doesn't contribute to a brand as heavily as a website, myspace is a primary social networking gateway (at the moment) and thus a true asset to campaigns of this nature. Alongside others of course, namely Facebook and Twitter.

It's being worked on - frankly tho the whole 'look' of the night from a branding perspective is still having the kinks worked out , so no sense in investing in a banner just yet. Variety is good with fliers. You never want to be that night who's flier merely changes background color each week. That's the thing about fliers, there are so damb many of them circulating about, competing for impressions; for a few moments of someone's time (generally measured in a number of seconds).

This is why branding came about, packaging ideas through symbols, shapes, colors and such. To communicate more swiftly; optimizing the seconds that comprise each impression.

Branding also spans beyond visual elements as well, however, I've bored myself with the topic; resisting even this final line of copy. :|

Wow.... 0010

with all this amazing advice you have... you must be one of the country's most premiere event promoters!

Thanks for all your incredibly insightful input.

Fuckin' appreciated.

This Tuesday is gonna be hot by the way!!

hey ben, since we're right after you...what's the likelihood of being able to use your serato box to save on swapping out time?

I'm playing wax, not even bringin serato. also would be leaving before you're done and not leaving my serato interface at the mel on a tuesday night, I'd like to retain ownership ;)

I finally moved my bed into the house I've been in for a year LOL this past weekend and while arranging the area was goin through records randomly grabbing stuff I hadn't heard for a bit. I have no idea what's gonna happen tonight. hehehe

We are coming out tonight. Brad is playing at 930 so a nice early spot. Should be a good time!

nice turnout and good music all around...thanks to everyone that came out to show support :D

one week left for august, then on to another snazz-packed month

I had a blast as usual. Glad people enjoyed the set! Had a couple of folks who were out for their first time that really were into the DnB and a friend of Rob's that said he didn't like electronic music but liked my set, made me feel good about djing again :D
