Bassnectar anyone?

I saw him twice earlier this year. Once at Rainbow Serpent, the other time at The Loft at UTS. Good both times but it's funny because I preferred his set at The Loft. I think his sound is better suited to a club.

He's also one of the only dubstep producers I give two shits about.

I hear everyone say this now. Its no lie that he's one of the best out there (IMO), but what makes everyone who regularly isnt a fan of dubstep or the like say they like his work?

I don't like any other dubstep djs/producers out right now. But I havent really exposed myself to a lot of artists dealing with that sub genre. So I dunno.

The best way I can explain is that his tracks have more kick and less whomp than a lot of dubstep out there. His music has a lot more flow and rhythm as well.

Bassnectar has a unique style. Dubstep as a genre has become very one-dimensional. Wobbly basslines, heavy drums and not much else. It used to be a lot more eclectic and inspired before it became 'cool'.

Just discovered Bassnectar as they will be playing a big festival in Chicago next week...

Unfortunately, they are playing the same time as this little band called Tool

bassnectar - while certainly an independent star these days - is a DJ that rose to glory through burning man. the hippies LOVE him. you'll never see that many dreadlocks at any other breakbeat show. they will eat up anything he plays, and since they are already used to half-stepping to his midtempo beats on nitrous and ketamine, it's not much of a stretch to spoon feed them some dubstep. his fan base is insanely huge, and even though i think he's overrated i can't deny how much work he's put in through constant touring and gigs. everything he does is well received by a large enough group to support the new direction. he could take a leak on the decks and people would probably build a shrine for the puddle.

fucking lol indeed
i like his midtempo funky stuff. wish hed stay away from the dubstep though
shrine for the puddle
lol

He's good shit. His best album IMO was Underground Communication. His last 3 albums were all so unique with earthshattering basslines and tons of womp!

His new stuff albeit is good, but its nothing like what he has put out before.

I saw Bassnectar @ Rainbow serpent this year.. I didn't enjoy his set on Market Stage on the SaturDAY... but really enjoyed the Sat night set on Main stage, especially his remix of Aphex Twin - Windowlicker. His productions have alot of detail, but most tracks can't be enjoyed without a subwoofer due to the presence of so many low frequencies.

I would make a shrine around Bassnectars pee.
I totally would

I saw him a week or so ago and i loved it beyond belief. The set was amazing and i get chills just thinking about it.

I cant wait for his new album to drop.
