All my dealers are friends anyway, they are not particularly rough. We all go out together, and get fucked up.

The other day, my usual dude didnt have any dope, so I decided to drive around to find some.
Some dude "yerrrrr'd" me, so I stopped. I thought he was a dealer, but he wound up hoppin
in my truck, and said he can get me shit. He told me where to go, and when I pulled up on
the block, this dude walked up tryin to sell us shit. The dude I picked up was like "nah, I got
it." So the dude goes wherever to go get my shit while I took his phone and wallet to make
sure he came back. Then I heard the dude tryin to sell us shit sayin "Ill shoot that mothafuckin
truck up next time you come through here faggot." He had his piece showin and shit. I was
scared as FUCK, but I wasnt goin anywhere without gettin my fuckin dope haha. The only way
I was taking off was if I started getting shot at. The dude I picked up didnt get back in my
truck, so I dont know what happened to him. I really dont give a fuck either since he almost
got my ass shot the fuck up because he wanted to go deal with somebody else. Newark. pshh.
Even where I usually go, I gotta keep my tints up and stay in the car. Its definitely not any kind
of area for a whiteboy to be in. If the cops happen to see that youre white, youre gettin pulled
over on the spot and searched, no questions asked. Shit is a fuckin jungle up there for real.

My usuall drug scene isn't scary. I can short my guys 5-10 bux and they can notice and not like chase me down the street. lol might be diffrent if I shorted them 50-100 bux.. and I always pay them next time.. lol.. They never short me or sell bunk shit. its auctually really consistent around here.. has been for 3 years or so.. I have heard the guys aren't allowed to carry guns by higher ups. which would make sense as its illegal to own/carry a handgun in chicago and you get fuct with a 5 or 10 year mandatory minimum for having a firearm at a drug deal.
I been to some semi-scary places to cop b4 I knew better... I was more scared of cops and getting ripped off/shorted than say getting shot or beat up. I wouldn't have let anyone in my car in those neighborhoods and woulda kept my window only halfway down and my foot on the brake ready to gas it and jet if shit went wrong. Nothing too crazy ever happened tho, other than getting ripped off a few times.

the REAL drug scene in my city is as follows
local people (that speak the national language) use stimulants EXCLUSIVELY.
opiates are frowned upon by regular people alot more than child molesters, serial rapists, corrupt government etc. addicts are the worst scum in this country, esp. IV users.
and thats the mindset of 95% of BOTH the youth AND their parents.
the reason? when H entered in '99 and created an epidemic, about 80-90% of the junkies were of russian descent (immigrants or not). seeing what this drug caused to the russian community (basically despair at its worst, dirt-poor people addicted to pure Afghani H - not a good combination. crime skyrocketed - it was something that was ever seen before in our "quiet continent".
H (and all opiates) were then dubbed the devil and since then a H/opiate junkie is the absolute lowest form of existance to 90% of my countrys residents.
there are methadone maintenance clinics, charges are skyhigh.
bupe maintenace is even worst, prices are ridiculous.
but by now (the H entered the scene summer of '99, it was gone by '04 replaced by various fentanyls coming straight through the border from Russia (St. Petersburg region).
so the only ones using the "crappy" fentanyl are people who simply need that shit in them.
its not supposed to provide any real high, some weird short-lived euphoria but thats about all according to numerous addicts who are forced to use this as there is nothing else affordable around (methadone, bupe).

Yes, you can get Mandrax but the scene is very dodgy. It's quite gangster orientated and there is a huge stigma attached to it (more so than H and coke). People smoke it mixed with weed, it seems to be extremely intoxicating if done in this manner. It is more confined to certain areas and most dealers I know won't deal with it but it is very obtainable if you go to the rougher parts of town.
The E scene used to be great, we used to get quality stuff for very cheap but it has died out and now ALL stamped pills are bunk. You can get MDMA powder but it's very pricey and rare. The scene is "distributed", there aren't any more clubs where dealing is done in the open any more (well not that I know of) and people from all sorts of groups indulge in contrast to it just being confined to the rave group about 10-15 years ago. The stuff sold as E here is terrible, I doubt there is even caffeine in some of the tabs. The last pills I got that worked were about 3 years ago and they turned out to be PMA.
Methcathinone is big in Johannesburg - something that is relatively unique to the area, it doesn't seem as popular in other countries.

I pretty much just buy drugs from white California stoner surfer hippies. Other than pot I mostly get psychedelics. I used to get shit from a very sketchy black man in East Palo Alto. I stopped that though, the only person I sometimes buy shit from who isn't a fun loving hippy is a 15 year old Persian kid. I fell very safe when I go to my dealers, a lot of them live in apartments by the University campus.

Wow..I made this thread a while ago and never really posted my answer to my own question..weird.
Well I have lived in 3 different city's and experienced many different things.
I found that it also really depends on your drug of choice. If your scoring Oxys, heroin, meth or coke/crack your obviously going to be in a much rougher scene then someone who buys weed.
But every city is different. I found after living in Sudbury, Ottawa and Belleville.(all 3 in Ontario) That they all had their fiends , scammers and loser who rip ppl off. Just Ottawa was the worst for crime. Most of my dealers in Ottawa had hand guns and lengthy records to back that up with it. The rave scene was way cooler 6-7 years ago too I found. I find now there is a huge gangster/hip-hop influence which ultimately caused there to be much more violence. Not trying to diss hip-hop though because I love it.

I generally cop by typing a credit card# into my comp and waiting for the mail. or by filling my RX at the pharmacy.
but when I gotta hit the streets, being tweaker and all, its roughest edge of the scene, the paranoia and violence and stupid ideas that tend to flow though twaked out peoples heads makes for decently tense occurrences.
toronto btw, either malvern, cresent town, regent park or jane/finch hoods. I usually go to do it with a nice warmer and a set of III plates on me.

In general, I'm a firm believer that one shouldn't have to be hard to be into using drugs, and into hanging with other people who are. (Dealing is another story.) I'm all for the creation of drug scenes that accept all types. We sure don't win any support from the general populace, in our desire for acceptance and someday legalization, by keeping up a reputation for being hard.

But that means me and my 7 spooks can dick around in park doing hand to hand sparring in uniform, and not one of them will insult us/name calling/stupid protest stuff, nor insult me for being in hard stims and not mind expanding bs. or in any other way bother us. ^ OK, if they're provoking you, and you've already told them once to leave you the hell alone, that's another story.
I definitely fall into the more bohemian end of society, and support a lot of the causes hippies do. But harassing someone who happens to be wearing the wrong uniform, who's not high up the chain of command and can't personally change anything, is just ridiculous. I think the original hippies made themselves look pretty bad by spitting on the soldiers coming back from Vietnam -- those lowly guys didn't instigate the war, and probably joined the army because they had few other job prospects. Wars are systemic problems -- you have to change the conditions that led the guys at the top to give the orders to attack. I'm rambling, but you get the idea.

sliding scale of preppy white people. some are home-owners in grad school. some are college drop-outs who live with their parents but still play golf. most everyone smokes pot, and there's also a group who're real into bars and coke.

In my experience, weed can be sold by anyone. From middle school to college students, the guy running grow ops from houses in the 'burbs, to young adults trying to make a living. Most of these folk tend to be laidback.
Most of the cats I've dealt with to cop some crystal or dope make a living solely through their business. Their life revolves around uppin' and slingin' along with using. There are usually no plans of ever quitting their use. Worst treatment I've gotten involves paranoia about my acquaintances regarding their product or the location of meeting. Nothing aggressive or negative though. I tend to be a good customer so no shit involved in my day to day dealings. Occasionally, I've had the guy that would scam me after months of solid business. It's their loss. If they think a quick couple bucks is worth losing regular business, they're not going to be around for long.

I wouldn't really call my scene rough, but some of the harder drug dealers are the wannabe thug type and might be strapped. I know a couple guys with tazers but it's strictly for defense purposes only. More or less everyone else is a friend so there are no worries about getting ripped off
