Movies and Drugs[MEGA MERGED]

Watched it while crunk and on shrooms last new years. Definitely one of the better viewings, but every one usually is.

Yeah donnie darko is the sickest movie ay, love it.

I think ive only watch FALILA while stoned, cant remember but its a great movie no matter what your on or even sober.

Another movie thats awesome while high is Boogie Nights...I reckon that'd be unreal on coke lol
 
I'm not sure what drugs I've seen it on anymore. I think DXM, coke, weed, alcohol, and possibly MDMA and MDA.

Also watch Where the Buffalo Roam while high, very good as well.

i watched boogie nights for the first time the first time i ever smoked weed. i was confused as to why the guy shot his wife, mind you i watched the movie from the beginning. needless to say i was hiiiiiiigh haha
 
I watched Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas coming up on 2 good tabs of LSD, we had to turn it off. Then I watched all of it about 8 hours later.

I watched The Tripper the other day, it was fucking crazy haha. Its about hippies at a musical festival and a guy dressed up as Ronald Reagan who goes around killing a bunch of hippies its fuckin nuts haha

word, without a doubt my favourite piece of drug cinema ever made - DESPITE the fact that they dumbed it down and cut out a LOT of stuff from the genius novel by irvine welsh. no doubt, they removed a lot of characterization and important characters to make it a bit tighter for the big screen, and to make it a bit more mark renton-centric. for instance, the movie spud is actually a combination of the characters spud and rab 'second prize' from the novels. instead of tommy dying of toxoplasmosis, it's an even more desperate, pathetic junky by the name of matty, mark's ex-roomate, who bites the dust. and so on, etc, etc. anyway, not important, since the movie still manages to be a classic despite not living up to the book (what could, though?)

for real though, anyone who even remotely enjoyed trainspotting the film OWES it to themselves to pick up the book. while the scottish dialect MIGHT be a bit of a stepping stone for some people, just picture it being spoken aloud by the actors in the film, and it helps you pick up on what they're saying. plus, added bonus to getting into welsh's novels is that he's written a sequel to trainspotting called porno, based 10 years after the rent boy betrays his friends and makes off with $16,000 of their ill-gotten drug cash. and it's JUST as good as the book it's following up on.

anyway, yeah. got off on a bit of a book-related tangent in a movie thread there, but it had to be said. just had to, ken?
 
^i believe irvine welsh is writing a prequel to trainspotting right now..about how mark renton got into heroin and such..heard about it somewhere..not sure where though.
 
yup, it's called skagboys and it follows the earlier lives of the trainspotting crew, specifically renton and sick boy and how they became junkies. due out sometime in 2009, i'm fucking stoked for it. i love everything welsh has ever done.
 
The Factory Scene & The 60's

What do you think about the drug usage in the factory with Andy Warhol and all the druggies? I think it's really interesting and Edie Sedgwick was sooo glamourous. I LOVE her. And she was a big part of the Factory Scene...

What do you think of the 60's drug movement?
 
Andy W. was extremely introverted. He never had a 'sexual relationship' with anyone to date (at least nothing admitted or known about). He did like to watch people having sex though.

He is great because of how well he could represent American society through his art. Tomato Soup is a favorite of mine and many others.

I don't think his factory scene and followers was something he expected, although he did network quite a few people to get the jobs he did.

It just seems like the Factory scene was glamorous only through the rewards of hard work which was done. The parties were probably kind of dull compared to todays "rave", but probably more intellectually stimulating if you really think about it.

They should have kept LSD legal though. Today's scenes might be a little more 'hip' and not so 'hot'.

As far as the 60's + drug movement goes though, that's when the War on Drugs started and it's really when the drug movement really reached it's peak and it really only went downhill from there (with the exception of modern RCs in todays grey market).
 
i am going as warhol and my girl is going as sedgwick for halloween. anyone have any pointers on costume and mannerisms to have me nail this thing. already watched factory girl. anything else that might help me get the nuance and cadence?
 
I watched Hellraiser the other night when stoned, made it even more enjoyable. Hellraiser 2 was last night but the Xanax must have put me to sleep before the end - but it will be put on later.

Pineapple Express is very fun to watch as well :D
 
As a sophomore in college (four years back now) I had an amazing time watching I <3 Huckabees under the influence of an ounce of Morning Glory seeds. Granted, on a dose that high even getting up to get a drink of water is an epic experience, cluttered with fractal dragons and Freudian infantile regression. Furthermore, the movie in question is quite the mindfuck even when sober.
The details are, as you would imagine, a wee bit fuzzy. However, I recall talking with my friends (also tripping on the seeds, albeit lower dosages) about how the film was a mixture of the Tao Te Ching, the Book of Revelations, the Bahatvid Ghita (sp?) and various Old Testament texts, all acted out through Jungian archetypes. However, this all became irrelevant when Mark Whalberg's nose became like a giant snake, wrapping around him, the screen and eventually me. For some reason I found this utterly hilarious, and began rolling on the floor in ecstatic laughter. From there I watched much of the movie from the floor, staring at the ceiling and looking at fractals generated on it by light from the television. Eventually I got back up into my seat, catching the ending of the film, which I found utterly brilliant and life affirming, convincing me (at the time) to propose to the hot girl who lived several dorm rooms down from us at that very instant. However, this thought was quickly forgotten as the credit's rolled, turning into a massive lion that ended up engulfing the entire room, leading to full dissociative ego death. I came to a few minutes later and we all stared at the blank screen for about a half hour longer, convinced that there were secret messages encoded by the filmmakers and that the whole film was a guide to the psychedelic experience (which it actually works pretty well as.
Anyhow, I digress. I <3 Huckabees + psychedelics = incredible mindfuck of a time. Chalk it up to the follies of youth (it goes without saying that there was some serious puking going on over the course of that night) but I'll be damned if it wasn't a riproaring good time =D

So im thinkin about going to see avatar in 3d on mushrooms. Im thinking about taking 5-6 grams. Do you think I will trip out harder because of the mush?
