Marijuana is where my <3 is, a passion one could say. Im not convinced this world would be worth dealing with if i cant medicate/grow legally. At the moment i can not engage in such activities since my state has some major nazi pirate dinosaur laws. =..

Come on over to cali and take classes at oaksterdam man. If you really want to open a cannabis club I suggest being completely genuine about the medical aspect of it though as they are cracking down on the ones that are obviously just drug dealers.

I never understood how people decide to build their future around a recreational drug...

Maybe you should go to India and find some work there. Very high-quality Cannabis grows wild in the north - that's even better than growing it yourself ;)
 
Oaksterdam University isn't accredited by any governing body. They don't offer degrees, just seminars, and the job market for the medical cannabis industry is jam-packed.

I do. Especially when quite a few people are pulling in hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, it's just selling a commodity what is hard to understand about that?

how about if someone with a chem degree decided to start a small business producing PEA's and trypamines that are not illegal in the jurisdiction they are in?

they are just using their education to produce fine chemicals and earn some money...not too hard to understand, is it?
 
Are you sure that weed is the only thing you value enough to start a career around?

I mean, it sounds to me like you need to go out and live a little, or maybe take some courses at a college somewhere and find something else you might also be into.

Because yanno...weed is just a drug man. You can't just say that weed is the only thing you love...that's such a limited outlook...I mean I like weed and everything but drugs wear off you know.
 
satricion, don't be ridiculous. Do you think beekeepers have a limited outlook because they spend their lives taking care of a single kind of creature?
 
Right okay but I mean, is weed really the only thing this OP cares enough about to start a career over? I mean, really? Just weed? Because you know, after a while it's just going to a plant that you're growing. Weed is fun and everything but can't be the focus of your whole life because if nothing else it will become really boring.

You do realize cannabis is a living creature, with multiple species and hundreds of well documented genetic strains, right?

Cannabis is a beautiful plant.. it can get you high/expand your consciousness, tastes good, smells good, theirs thousands of diffrent variates of it. All diffrent colors, smells, tastes, highs.

On its own, horticulture/gardening is really awesome anyways.. Would you have the same opinion if he wanted to become a gardener/horticulturist growing more traditional plants?
Even tho I can see where Mariposa is coming from stating that its not a "real" school and theres no credits to transfer or degrees to work towrds with that school..

You might want to do this and also pursue a degree in horticulture. Also if you take a class in horticulture at a state school or whatever you might learn more of the scientific side of things that might apply to cannabis. And you could get a job in the so-called straight world if you ever wanted to, on the side or whatever.


I can't stand it when people try and paint anyone who wants to be seriously involved with drugs as a job or other big part of their lives as losers. I used to feel that I wanted to grow pot and coulda seen myself moving to canada or holland to do it. Now I'm prolly going to be a glassblower in one way or another for the rest of my life, ie making vessels for smoking herbs. Half the people who would criticize a lifestyle/carrer based on drugs prolly have a boring 9/5 job working in some office anyways..

To me running a co-op, growing indepandantly, running a headshop, blowing glass, are all pretty cool occupations.

Also its funny how lots of people are stoked about pot and theres such a huge industry around it. Cannabis clothes, growbooks, grow stores, just the whole pot culture. VS. like heroin or meth, you hardly see that with hard drugs.. Hmm wonder why?
 
Also yes if you puff 24/7 your tolerence will go up, but you can take breaks and your tolerence will go down and it will be novel again when you start again, whereas a lot of hard drugs are really addictive and if you stop and go back you'll likely get addicted again, whereas pot lends itself to stoping and starting at will, putting it down if it becomes an inconvience.

I've been puffing on and off since I was 13, I'm 26 now and recently started again after a 3 year break, and I've never really been bored with cannabis.

thats also what i do not understand. you could go to an accredited school and get a degree other people see as useful. oaksterdam just seems like a waste of money.

Unless you plan to make a career out of growing cannabis commercially.
