The Travel Thread - Second Destination

What did this person do?
 
He has a split personality and OCD, offers to host people without saying he lives miles from anywhere and suggests you split the fuel costs which is fair enough.

But when we went to the petrol station on the way home, he bought 15 litres which I had to pay for. Was a bit surprised but I thought well that's ok just this once if he's going to drive me back to the city in the morning to meet other CSers and see the sights.

In the morning he's suggesting we spend the day cleaning, the floor, walls, ceiling, sinks.. the whole bloody house and refuses to let me go to a CS pool party meeting. I go on ranting to him just because I'm young it doesn't mean I'm a mug and I'm not going to renovate your house just because you let me sleep there, I'm only in KL for a few days and I want to do as much as possible.

He then has the cheek to say he can drive me to the station if I buy fuel and oil for his other car, I say it'll be cheaper for me to get a taxi. So I text someone else I met on CS and she's like get the fuck out of there ASAP because one of her friends had some problems a couple of weeks ago where he tried charging a CS'er the electricity and gas bill for just one night and wanted 300RM and refused to let him go. The guy in question is 31 but still feared his life at night and decided to leave 100RM and run.

if you mean what i think you mean... you either need a shaver adaptor OR a UK/Euro or perhaps a UK/US travel adapter. any of which are about a quid from ASDA.
 
I have a UK to Euro and US adapter, but I need a Euro/US/Whatever they use in Thailand to UK adapter.

Yes, a shaving adapter will probably do the trick, will buy one asap. Ta.
 
That cunt sounds like a right weirdo, surely he had references on his profile saying so though? I doubt many folk would give him positive references if he acted like that.

Make sure you give him a negative reference, don't just leave it and not say a thing, elsewise loads of other folk will have to go through what you did!

i have to use one on my work's mobile phone and laptop, cos i was issued them in germany, so they've both got Euro plugs. 8)

thankfully i got a UK adapter for the laptop, cos it was in danger of setting my house on fire with the heat it was probably making. they're not really designed for heavy duty current going through them but they're fine for wee things like phones, cameras, and... errrr... shavers. ;)
 
We've reported him to the moderator.

He has references, and 5 vouches (which is hard to get) but I didn't check the dates of the references. They're all from when he was travelling around Europe, he doesn't have any references from people he's hosted.

Got to be tactful with this, I don't want a bad reference in return so I've passed it over to the ambassador and mods.
 
Mate give him the reference he deserves or your really not doing the CS community justice!

I'm trying to work out my financial situation at the moment, I need to get the fuck out of here ASAP as work is driving me mad, but going to Oz with only £2k or so seems a little silly. I'd be back in the UK in two months with no place to live, no job and no money. :\

Go now or grind it out at work! I just don't know. Totally miserable here. :|
 
Go now, and work over there. You'd be far less miserable working over there than here. And prob more likely to get a better job over there, as they take pity on ginger midgets in Oz. :)
 
I don't want to work over there though, well not to begin with anyway, want a few months of just doing nothing but lazing around and aimlessly and slowly travelling around. Lots of sun, beach and cider sounds great.

Work is work, Oz or not and I hate working.

You'll make more friends working find out about all the best places.
I'm guessing you could work for a little bit, see if you like it, do your travelling, then go back to work whether you like it or not.

Especially if he was a surgeon or summin...then he could prescribe you all the benzo's you could ever want to feed your addiction.
