My first real dealer, when I first got started, quickly became a friend and still is; in fact, he moved south with us and is our housemate now. He fronted me all the time, no problem, no questions asked, and he would chuckle when I (occasionally) could not pay him back right away, because I would be upset about it and he couldn't have cared less. This guy was mainly a coke dealer, who sold to my cousin and to my ex, but he did sell pills to me and to a couple other people. If I was out of pills and hurting, he'd make a few calls and 90% of the time, was able to find something for me. He was a homebody and sometimes, I think he liked us coming by as often as we did just because he was glad for the company. We'd sit and smoke cigarettes and bullshit for upwards of an hour when I'd come over to pick up. He was a stoner who always had the best pot, and although he didn't sell pot, he'd even fill a bowl or three for my ex and others to smoke while we visited.
Sadly, he wound up trusting the wrong people, (not us!), and got robbed blind. Shortly thereafter, a series of unfortunate ebents caused him to have to go out of business.
I never found another situation like that. The people I dealt with the last three years before moving south called me like every week to be fronted money prior to refill day, but asking them to front even three pills was like you were asking them for a kidney or something, and then they'd hound me every day, more than once, even though I would patiently try to explain that I had a job, and received a paycheck on a regular schedule, so they would be paid when I was. It got to be so it wasn't worth it, so I quit asking, although I continued to front them till I left town and thus effectively ended our business relationship. These people cadged so much extra cash, rides, cigarettes, booze, etc. from me over the years that I get irate all over again thinking about it. Problem was, I didn't really have any other more or less reliable connects, so I had to kiss their asses to get first dibs on their product.
From time to time, some of my more infrequent connects would front me without a problem, as I had a reputation for being upfront and handling my affairs ethically and honestly. All told, though, I didn't usually buy anything on credit, that was pretty rare.
