gis a link to this Black, please. :)

going to Dance Valley is optional! but if it's anything like the lineup from a couple of years ago, there's no fucking way i'm missing it.

Does anyone else reckon a good percentage of the folk promising to go wont show or have an excuse nearer the time. Maybe I'm just too pesemistic.

I am pretty much 100% sure that I will be going if there is a Bluelight meeting this summer. :) Money is not a problem and I can help out other Bluelighters being Dutch and all. I could make a list of all the shops or hotels in Amsterdam (of which there are more than 300, ranging from simple youth hostels to five star hotels) or help out in any other way possible. :)

A good tip (don't know if I have posted it earlier in this thread): Try to find a cheaper flight towards any other airport in the Netherlands. This could turn out to be much cheaper since Schiphol airport has high taxes compared to flights from and to Brussel (Belgium) or Eindhoven airport, then all you have to do is to buy a train ticket and enjoy our lovely countryside until you reach Amsterdam Centraal Station which is less than 20 minutes from Schiphol airport.

I have been to Amsterdam a few times so I can be of any help maybe, I would love to help you guys with this meeting since I've been a lurker since 2003 and love this site because of it's harm reduction policies, support, knowledge, etc. :)

Peace o/

The date has not been confirmed yet so don't buy your tickets yet, from http://www.sensation.com/?setLang=en-GB:

Some website or ticket sellers are offering tickets for Sensation Amsterdam.

Please do not buy your tickets from these sellers. They are unofficial, can not guarantee you a valid ticket and will charge prices that are way too high. Ticketonline.nl is the only official seller of Amsterdam tickets.

The date of Sensation Amsterdam has not been confirmed yet and tickets are not yet available. More information will be released soon at Sensation.com so please keep checking this website. Or subscribe as a Sensation club member and receive an email when more information about Sensation Amsterdam is available.

Excellent stuff, Rexeh :)

Hadn't occurred to me to go somewhere other than Schipol. That's a damn good tip. Have never been to Amsterdam myself (well, passed through it briefly) but had fun in Haarlem once. Could do with a bit of local information from one who knows and I'm sure I'm not alone in that :)

Am as good as 100% going. No idea how I'll pay for it but will have to find a way. This one will be too good to miss. See y'all there :)

^ sure, he sounds nice. <3

i'm almost 100% sure to be going. the cost of the flights isn't an issue cos i'll just redeem my airmiles for it. the only issue will be time off work. i've requested the time off but there's no cast-iron guarantee i'll get it, not yet anyway...

this will be too legendary to miss. can you imagine not going and having to suffer everyone talking about it afterward? fuck that!

Personally I think I could cope. :)

Have never been to Amsterdam

Sure I read a post of yours on here the other day saying something along the lines of Amsterdam being as crazy as you expected. No?

For some reason I thought this was supposed to be in August... I think I might still go though.

Aer Lingus must be fucked up because they're telling me that flights are £879.95. Though, easy jet can do flights for £96 return. This doesn't seem as expensive as I thought.

How much do you reckon 3 nights in a hostel would be? I'll look now, but I'll let you all speculate whilst I do :)

EDIT:

Looks like it won't eat into my moving to a new life budget much at all.

Found a Hostel at £20.20 per night! Looks like I could do this for around £150 ex. spending money :D

It all seems much more likely now, but I'll need to be saving up my pennies and my pounds, or find someone to buy this damn growing equipment..If I even order now and pay back a tenner a week to the lucky card holder...

EDIT 2: Didn't think to check the location...it's in the countryside outside Amsterdam :( Next one is near Van Gough museum and is onlky £28 a night, so it's all still OK!

carl cox
sander van doorn
mason
cosmic gate
tiesto!
FERRY FUCKING CORSTEN!
dozens and dozens more. plenty to keep the elitists happy too, i'm sure. ;)

tix are 62.50EUR each. i will be ordering mine on the fucking day and booking my flights too.

definitely going now, fuck work! :D

Said it elsewhere, but that line-up is far from alluring. Having said that, I have no idea who half the people listed on the site are cos I'm old and don't listen to R1. It does finish at 11 though so still got time to do stuff afterwards, but I'm not sure I'll be going to the Dance Valley thing myself. Will see if there are more appealing options in the offing :)

not a fan of the lineup there but fuck me that video gave me shivers, look at the size of it haha

Yeah, the video did give me some hope, Evad. If nothing else there's always the enjoyment to be had from wandering about the place and generally exploring to see what you can see. Not convinced about it being a daytime thing though, seems far to early for such malarky unless you're coming at it as an after party. Will see how finances are and what other options are available - that's a fair bit of cash for something that's not really my thang.

If anyones looking for a hostel thats cheap and friendly, try the flying pig

http://www.flyingpig.nl/

Stayed there a few years ago and it has a really laid back atmos, met loads of cool people there and is about ten minutes walk from the station in the middle of the red light district

Went to Amsterdam last year and it was immense fun. The weed really is as good as its made out to be (:D), plus the general relaxed atmosphere is fantastic. The dutch people were nice too. Stayed in a fancy hotel last time cos the people I went with were pussies and wouldn't go for a hostel no matter how much I tried to convince them. Waste of money lol.

April 2009 coincides with my easter break so may consider coming along with fellow students; we've been talking about going for a while plus a mate was on about organsing something for April time anyway so who knows might see some of you there. Will keep an eye on this thread. :)

^ Probably won't be seeing to many of us in April, Inso, cos the meet is in July ;)

Am starting to get moderately excited about this now. Not too long to go. Any news on what else is going on other than this slightly uninspiring Dance Valley thingy? Have vague memories of other things happening that are too vague to recall right now.

Am also considering making it into a proper lil break as I haven't had a holiday for the best part of 20 years. Would love to spend some time in Holland in general cos I really enjoyed it when I stayed for a weekend once (apart from the sleeping in the train station part :|). Quite like the idea of wandering about the place a bit - maybe seeing a bit more of what the Continent has to offer even.

Just pray you don't go there in a heatwave, or the rooms become ovens and the windows won't bloody open. Total lack of sleep put me in a fucking foul mood for the whole week..
Also the smoking ban means while having a spliff outside you'll get hassled by crack dealing wankers, but that's probably the case everywhere these days, sadly..
