same here, in fact i spend virtually all my time with women, im in a room right now with a girl who is tripping and i am totally sober. BUT im going to go out on a limb and guess that it was you who supplied the exotics and not them. i have yet to meet a girl with an RC collection, or a girl who was not introduced to psychs by a boy. i do not know of any female psychedelic chemists. obviously all kinds passively enjoy psychs, i have also heard of dogs and children enjoying them, but thats not what im talking about, im talking about the psychedelic obsession (to reiterate, research, acquisition, experimentation, documentation)
 
Yeah I wish I could find a female kindred spirit! I started researching them at the age of 11 and finally acquired a few years later and have had the obsession ever since. Alas, I am not a chemist.
 
Male. I was thinking that maybe there are a bunch of neo-hippie women that use psychedelics. I think they must be less willing to use the intertron for drug research, or anything for research... I can think of some chicks that have taken Shulgin drugs, but a hamhurricane said, they were provided by guys.
 
I agree, plenty of those types in London, UK anyhow! Also I've encountered many women at psychedelic festivals who travel and probably don't get to spend much time on the tinterwebs.
 
hamhurricane, I think the reason for that is that girls tend to be WAY less likely to be 'drug dealers' and most people have to either become a dealer or buy a lifetime personal supply of an exotic psychedelic if they somehow have the opportunity to buy any at all. It's very risky to hold a bulk amount of drugs that other drug users and dealers in your social network know about, and girls usually aren't willing to risk the kind of violence that can turn into.
 
I think one of the reasons for women doing less "designer" or rare drugs might be the sterotypical lack of females in the sciences, or female lack of intrest in science.

Afterall, one usually comes across these things while researching drugs, but not in a skimming the basics manner, in a mroe indepth manner.

I've just not met alot of girls who would know what ring substitution is, or what a carbonyl group is, or what the sodium dependant dopamine transport mechanism is, ect.

not say they are not out there, just go look at a typical uni chem or pharma class and count the ratio of male:female.

i dont know what those things are either and im real pasionate about psychedelics, having tried over 2 dozen by now.

im just interested in a different aspect of them. im more about the psychological effects and benefits (and downsides) of those effects.
also i find them fun and interesting to compare the different effects of different psychs.

yeah, you def dont need to know the science behind them to enjoy them, just I think if your looking into that stuff, it just helps lead you to them, if you know what I mean.

I.e. creates awareness of all the different compounds and possible compounds and paths of actions and might spark an urge to try em out...I think that might lead alot of dudes who are otherwise just chem/pharm nerds/students into trying it, and might help skew the male:female psychedelic use ratio.

you know I mean? Just like anything else, you read about it, know the theory, study it, ect...you tend to wanna see the RL implications...that can go for gun nuts and having to try stupid wildcat bullets, car people expirmenting with your ride, computer nerds and always tossing new video cards in and getting new games, or screwing around with all different op systems..or with drugs, and just wanting to see what all the different ones are about, cause you read about them in a dry textbook and wanna add some IRL to that.

Lots of females in chemistry at my school. Probably because more females than ever are becoming doctors. Not quite 50:50, but more like 40:60 female:male ratio in most of my classes. The president of the chemistry society is a girl, too (she's smokin' hot, as well :D).

Additionally I don't really think this poll will mean much, PD is a notorious sausage fest. =D

I'm not trying to be pedantic, but i think we all know the unfortunate truth that a gram of 2C-B or 4-AcO-DMT is far from a lifetime supply, and to have a gram of these does not force you into dealing. also many of us know that people will often not take exotics if you give them away "DOC? what the fuck is that!" i certainly dont know anyone who would try to hurt a girl/boy in order to get their hands on a gram of any psychedelic, or else i would be long dead.

Its quite possible to use RCs and be totally removed from dealers and violence, thats why many people are attracted to them (me for example) in many ways you could argue the RC scene is ideal for women...but thats not the way it plays out in reality, and then we get back to the original question...why?

I dont think the female brain understands psychadelics. The only girls i know that take acid or shrooms or anything just do it to get "smashed" or for the sake of it.

Girls seem way more interested in vanity and other BS like that.

A gram of 4-AcO-DMT is a lifetime supply for most people. 30-40 full blown +++ or ++++ trips from one drug? How many users of 4-AcO-DMT do you think will ever trip on it 30 times in one lifetime? Or rather, what percentage of them?

When I say dealing I don't necessarily mean selling for a profit, I just mean the distribution. Even free distribution. If it's known through your social network that you have a lot of any kind of recreational drug that could be stolen and resold, you're at risk holding on to something like this. Armed robbery where drugs are the intended loot is sooo common in the USA. Just because someone is attracted to 4-AcO-DMT doesn't mean they can't be a crackhead or strongarm thug.

I think girls in general are more aware of the risks of physical danger like this in their lives.

A long time ago, I'd been robbed for less than a gram of a psychedelic, by someone who I didn't even know, because he heard of my stash from friends of friends who'd I'd dosed for free. If anyone likes the bastardized 'what goes around comes around' karma concept, there's a happy ending to the story: he thought it was cocaine, and the results are what you would expect.

Yeah but who do you hang around? Where do they take it, and why?

I've met PLENTY of girls who regularly take psychedelics as often as 2 weeks apart. Some get mashed up on it, but alot of them definitley gain something from it. It may be because the main places i trip are at Psytrance Partys, and alot of the girls there are what you would call 'neo-hippies' there very calm and collected.

With that said, i think this whole thread really relates too 'majority and minority'. A Majority of girls i've met don't like to trip as much as guys ive met.. and they also seem to have a harder time letting go completely while on it then most guys. But there definitley are girls who trip for deeper meaning.

All it will really reveal is whether males who use psychedelics also go on the Bluelight PD forum sometimes....:) Also, it seems to be revealing some rather simple minded folk.
