Best DRUG use for ANXIETY!

Clonazepam + Pregabalin works wonders for me. Although when taken daily the desired effects of Klonopin can start to decrease pretty quick without continuing to increase the dosage.

The Clonazepam mostly helps with the physical symptoms of social anxiety and ability to go out and do your daily chores out in society. The Lyrica (300mg or higher) is great for giving you the 'desire' to actually go out and do things and conversations don't sound meaningless, in fact they can be very intriguing. Higher doses (600mg) can produce empathy similar to MDMA. It doesn't produce over-sedation and has stimulatory effects as well.

Also, seeking out an outpatient mental health group therapy system can greatly help some people out. Talking with people who have the same problems as you in a group with a therapist may be very effective.

ganja has never caused anyone that i know to have anxiety or get paranoid, those myths are like totally blown out of the water. As far as the BEST "DruG" for anxiety I would say that opiates/opioids work best. They do everything that the benzo's do for anxiety plus you feel "like jesus' son." I have this friend that was kind of depressed, even though he never said anything bout it me and all of our other friends could definatly tell that something wasn't right. I could tell he had the worst social anxiety in the world, so one night when we were all together, and at the time i had just discovered O.C. and the effects from snorting it. I gave my friend a 10mg line that night and I swear to god he turned into a different person, wasn't depressed, he started talking more easily and more in general. lol anyways yeah Opiates are def. the best drug to treat any kind of mental 'pain.' but everyone knows those symptoms will just be even worse when u have to come off

benzodiazepines are usually the best, but are quite addictive and have harsh withdrawals.

this or alcohol, but after a while drankin, just leads to more drinkin then basicly u cant drink quick enough trust me i know, id say hit the doctor nget some benzo's n when ur havin an attack pop a few

I'm living proof that it causes HORRIBLE anxiety and paranoia; sometimes to the point where I think I'm going to die and have to leave the situation i am in. I hate the devil weed!

SSRIs, "Downers", Pot, even winos...

Hear me out... what has been your best strategy for combating anxiety?

How has your drug of choice helped you

one word

ANAFRANIL

has side effects....you might balloon to whale size, and you will forget what 'sex' means and why it used to be necessary. but....your mood will be very noticeably lifted and your anxiety obliterated.

i mean it was like that for me. but when my penis was staring to atrophy and i gained weight [in new york, weight gain is illegal due to aesthetic desecration] to the point that i needed to buy new jackets....i got off the clomipramine and used benzodiazepines.

a combination of benzo of your choice [gotta experiment with a good doctor] with prozac or celexa, or cymbalta, even effexor, but by no means lexapro, please.

Also, try Lyrica or Neurontin. Try Campral...it worked for me too.

I've been hooked on benzos for nearly ten years, which I've probably said a million times before but for those who experience social anxiety, what you need to realize is that the effects completely wear off after a few months of daily consumption. First you become physically dependent upon them and then your dose will escalate and then after years of being on them your anxiety slowly becomes worse than it was before you begun taking them. After being on them for so long, an increase in dose will bring you back to the level of feeling normal but only for a short period of time, maybe a month or two. Then when you decide to taper (if you dare to do so) your anxiety becomes so incredibly awful, especially when your off them. Withdrawals can last for literally over a year.

They are great to take on an as-needed basis but its easy to get drawn into the trap of taking them daily because they instantly diminish the symptoms. As mentioned earlier, sometimes doctors will place you on them for one or two months while waiting for the effects of an anti-depressant for social anxiety to kick in. This is common practice and isn't a bad idea.

Also, like I said earlier, try Lyrica. Its very effective. Starting a longer acting benzodiazepine while slowly increasing the dose of the Lyrica isn't a bad idea at all. I just wish that Lyrica was around before I begun taking benzodiazepines. I wish that I was older and more well informed about benzos so that I could tell my doctor that I'd like to quit taking them.

Marijuana (not that cheap shwag shit that causes paranoia) is the greatest drug for anxiety in my opinion but with exception of Ketamine I don't want to return to prison because of having to go back into the habit of using illegal drugs anymore. I'll smoke chronic maybe once a week or every other week but I'm an addict and daily consumption leads to the hard shit and I do shit that only the devil can think of when using dope/coke on a daily basis.

I have a love/hate relationship with Klonopin. In my mind its without a doubt the best benzo for social anxiety.

Xanax kicks in very quick but the effects also diminish very quickly. I was on it for a few years and my dose very quickly escalated to 8mg daily. I'd experience relief for a few hours but if I didn't make sure to take my next dose a couple hours after that I'd experience awful rebound anxiety.

With Klonopin I can feel normal and go about my daily business for nearly the entire day and don't have to worry about needing to take my next dose every 4-6 hours. I don't feel like a nervous wreak and dose escalation isn't as much of a problem. However, it blunts my emotions, a side effect that all benzos eventually create with long term use. I also hate having to accept the fact that I'll be on it for the rest of my life.

I've tapered off Klonopin, which took like nine months, and the entire process made me feel like shit, physically and mentally. When completely off it I couldn't cope with reality. While my muscles ached, body shacked and sudden cold sweats drenched me, I realized all that the Klonopin really did was numb my emotions and I really didn't want to feel real emotions. I just didn't understand them. Crying like a baby after watching a sad movie, punching the walls when someone said something I didn't want said and isolating myself from all of my friends. My psychiatrist said that it would probably take a year for me to stabilize and control my emotions correctly. It would also take possibly 18 months for the lingering, although mild but irritating physical symptoms, like twitching and random muscle spasms, to diminish. When I decided to take the Klonopin again but just as-needed, the first dose felt like I was in heaven. I re-joined society and eventually went back onto it.

So I guess I'm comfortably numb :|

there is no best drug for anxiety-duh!

nearly every enurotransmitter if found in hig or a low enough dose relative to other neurotransmitters will produce anxiety, lack of bvits=anxiety, lack of opiate when addicted=anxiety, too much caffeine when addicted=anxiety, twisted self attacking though patterns=anxiety.

this is such an open emotion anything can cause it, trigger it or continue its terrible reign

you need to dicover what is right for you-be an individual and know yourself!

i have ocd. ebt has been my greatest asset. benzos do help, but limit the effectiveness of exposure. the problem with drugs such as effexor are that that they inihit the reuptake of not only serotonin (good) but norepinephereine as well (bad). Norepiniephereine will cause you to be agitated and on edge. Bad call by the doc on my part. Go for an SSRI. Give it a month or two, if not, try another. In the meantime u can try a low dose atypical anti psychotic like seroquel or low does benzo. (IN THE MEAN TIME.)

In my personal experience, opiates are the best for treating anxiety.

Right now I'm on zoloft 200mg daily, I guess it kinda works :\ Zoloft is to anxiety, as tylenol is to pain.

I was on klonopin in the past, got physically addicted in about 3 weeks, and shaked like hell when I tried to stop.

xanax! but not too often, only when i can't control my anxiety, i don't want to become addicted! And with milder cases of anxiety, controlling my own mind... This is very important, and I'm slowly learning to improve at it. Telling yourself everything is in the right place is always good. Sometimes really hard to accept though.

Ive been on ativan 1-2 mg for the last 5 yrs. Recently,I was switched to 1mg clonazepam three times daily. I have real anxiety, I dont take it to get high. I just started this new dose, but, Im sure, it will help. I have also been taking vicoden a few a day lately, which make me feel great, but, I still get slight anxiety on top of that.

I am one of those that pot sends me into extreme panic attacks. once or twice, I actually went to the hospital. NOT good. I am a social drinker, and a few drinks down me , anxiety is gone too....

I have tried tons of antidepressants, and am currently on wellbutrin. that does not help anxiety, but works well for depression.(300mg)...so, I need both, benzos and wellbutrin.
