Will my doc give me benzos ?

So true. I’m about 5 weeks off clonazepam now after a long but erratic taper (which you may recall from other threads), and I’m probably in PAWS/BWS/BIND territory. Horrible suicidal ideation level depression, relentless anxiety, sleep isn’t as bad as it could be but not good either. Memory loss and other cognitive issues. Irritability. Anger. Some nerve pain and sensations, feeling of bugs crawling on my skin at time, some muscle pain/soreness and ataxia. Somewhat feels like I have Lou Gehrig’s disease/ALS. And I’m picking up a new dependency on gabapentin it feels like. But I’m terrified not to take that. The hope I would be in the clear was a pipe dream. I’m preparing for the long haul of years. I mostly have my resolve still, but there are times I wonder if I should have stayed on benzos.
Hang in it gets better ,but expect 3 months of suicidal thoughts ,if I lived in another continent ie North America where hand guns are easily accessible then I'm not sure I'd be typing this
Unfortunately your gabapentin use will just mask benzo wd symptoms, I'm no expert on how it manages to do this but it absolutely does
I've only played around with pregab etc but it could be wd from these drugs are just as severe
If you truly believe you need to stay on benzos go through the proper medical channels , i havnt read your previous posts so maybe you are , it's hard ,if nearly impossible to be prescribed benzos for life
Benzo use requires superior will power and a rational mind and a very stable lifestyle to be taken continuously
I hate to heap misery on top of misery but if you think benzo wd is bad now if you have to stop gabapentin be prepared.
I can only share my own experience but I've been there
My best advice is to try and get yourself in a position where you can partially isolate for 3 months ,but it's essential you still keep contact with outside world
Slowly force yourself into situations you find uncomfortable, it allows your brain to relearn basic coping skills
Time is your only friend
All the best

Hey @mazse :)

When I first saw this thread title, I was pretty sure I was gonna have to close it. The thread has done well in not turning it into a ¨how-to¨ guide for acquisition. Benzodiazepine prescriptions have dropped precipitously over the past couple of decades. 20 years ago, when I was in High School, I knew at least a dozen kids who had scripts like: 60mg Amphetamine (Adderall) + 3mg-4mg Alprazolam (Xanax) and or Clonazepam (Klonopin) per day. Doctors were willing to write. It was more dependent upon whose parents were willing to ¨trust the process¨ and whose parents did their research and knew better.

I had a friend when I was in High School. I´ve mentioned him before. I honor his legacy as best I can by highlighting the wrongs done to him. He was one of those kids. He was eventually getting 80mg IR Adderall and 4mg Alprazolam per day. He was getting it in 3 month increments, believe it or not. He would just show us a fucking large ziploc bag ful of his pills. His Mom never even checked after they were delivered.... crazy. We all loved it because he would sell some, give some etc. He ended up pretty twisted from these medications. The doctor lost his license and my buddy lost his pills. Within a year or so, I found out he blew his brains out with a shotgun during a party. I absolutely place a lot of blame on these people for his death.

Benzodiazepines are one of those things that society at large sees as essentially harmless, doctors portray as more harmful yes, but still not harmful enough and those of us who know, either through experience or second-hand experience know to be one of the most insidious and harmful drugs out there; insidious as their effects are potent, yet subtle. I compare the whole thing to the Event Horizon of a black hole. They say there is a point at which a space ship could no longer escape the blaclk hole, even if it did not see that way to those in the ship; essentially, when you realize it is serious enough to begin trying to get away, you are often too far in.

Panic Attacks are a condition for which Benzodiazepines are still prescribed, yes. This is one of the few indications that I believe in for Benzodiazepines. If you only take a pill once or twice a month, there is a good possibility you could maintain the utility of your medication for a long time. It is really up to your doctor, but if you are only asking for two pills a month, you seem trustworthy and are good at making appointments, it is within reason.

If you're i the north of Europe I would suspect they would try a SSRI like (es)citolapram first, but they might prescribe you pregabalin(Lyrica)

Can someone compare the strength of grandaxin? Tofisopan is the brand name

Like 450mg is the maximum dose in a day....and would cimetidine and grapefruit juice work with it?

Would it compare to valium or alprazolam?

So i went to the doc today
I explained him how i feel and he gave me seresta but only for panic attacks, not for a daily use.
What do you think about this benzo ?

How many did he give you and did he give it for daily use like 7 a week?.
Never tried it

I’m 18 years old and I live in Europe. I’m planning to see a doctor soon about recurrent panic attacks that I’ve been experiencing for over a year.

Bluelight is a little too anti-benzo for my liking. I was diagnosed with panic disorder with agoraphobia in my mid 20s. It's been a continuing problem. I've been on multiple SSRI's and have an ongoing Ativan prescription. For the past 15 years I average about 2mg of Ativan a week and it has caused no long term issues. I suppose if I stopped taking that 2mg a week I'd notice something but honestly if you can always space your benzo use to at least every 48 hours you should be fine. Don't dose more than once a day and do not ramp up your dose.

If panic attacks are negatively impacting your life and CBT and SSRI's don't put you into full remission than yes a doctor will likely prescribe you a benzo to take on occasion (to give your life a break/abnormal stressful situations) or for emergency panic.

Benzos get a bad wrap, like opiods, because the general public is wreckless and stupid with these tools. If you don't abuse them you will be fine. I hope you get your script and some relief. Just remember to document the symptoms you are having in detail with your doctor, preferably a psychiatrist.

Just to condense what I said a bit since you got your script. DO NOT -> take back to back days, do not take more than once a day, do not take a higher dose than prescribed.

Thanks

She gave me seresta because she told me that the drug leave your body very quickly so you can take one to take off the anxiety without fucking your day because you tired. I will give it a try but i saw that seresta can be a bit long to take effect so i will try it normal and sublingual and if it takes too many time i will ask her for something a bit faster who also leaves your body quickly ( sry if i maje english mistakes)

I agree im scripted 2 benzos but currently addicted to neither. I get bromaz and clonaz. really unless you abuse them and run out they arent much of a problem

in fairness I'd say anti abusing them yes due to how many people on here have suffered withdrawals.

but a constant theme is that if there's a medical reason and they're used appropriately then people will actually be a lot more sympathetic and sensible about even suggesting them.

no-one wants anyone to suffer, either because they're not taking them when they need to, or because they're eating them like candy!
