🤝 Cultural 🤝 What Was Your Morning Fix v. Hit The Bottle & Go Right To The Rock

My morning fix was...nothing! Absolutely nothing! Except coffee. I even forgot to take my psych meds, does that happen to anyone else? I feel like I should be a master of taking them by now seeing as how I have been chomping handfuls of pills for a few years now, but now and again I will just completely space it. Now I gotta take everything all late, but I think I will forgot the Adderall and quadruple up on the gabapentin so that my sleep cycle isn't totally fucked.

Ik some people who take large amounts of stuff and who still happen to forget sometimes - don't remember that happening to me though 😅💀

OT:
4,8 g red Kratom
50 mg Hydroxyzine
Since I don't feel stable on two tiny doses a day, switched to once daily now. Let's see how that goes this time...

Well, that didn't go well. WD kicked my ass so bad that I got up at 2 a.m. to redose... Felt better but still hardly slept and decided to redose every time WD hit - that's 9,3 g for today. And I'm not exactly in luxury condition 😑... Will have to think again after a few hours of sleep - hopefully - tomorrow.

You seem to have the worst time with drugs, or rather, with managing addiction. I feel for you! I know what it is like to be in almost constant WDs bc that is how I was before methadone.

💯 ... Yep. I don't manage. It's an ongoing row of failures... But I wouldn't have believed it when told. I've cursed Kratom a lot in the last few days, but in the end I didn't manage with everything else either. 8,2 g today, and doubting I'd even be stable on that. Whatever. I've seen a specialist already and he didn't see much of a chance without rehab. There's no benefit in telling me so for him, and I believe that's his honest take on the situation. I wouldn't even have seen him if I didn't agree. My turn to organize that now. And get through somehow until I do, whatever it will be.

I am extremely wary of inpatient rehab as a way to stay off drugs long term but I think in your specific case it could help, I mean it is obvious you want off opiates so you just need an opportunity to withdraw from them, most likely.

The doc I talked to also said I need to make a plan for later, as we agreed on staying clean as the real challenge. I don't like the hassle I can tell, but... Going through that phase on my own is beyond my capacity.

^^^^

Do you exercise... Try to walk that extra mile or set the bike to a couple extra miles when you can work up. Then the dopamine from the working

out will start to outweigh the addiction. Lifting weights, yoga, sweating some tai chi. Sweat it out. Focus on different activities. Work ups. You can.

You have to do other activities outside of inpatient. Take care. Thinking of your strength. Keep going. It's a long process.

Use up all the time that you can being active. Riding a bike at the gym or canoeing or fishing. Speed walking with pedometer.

Sitting on the porch being outside with out using. Stair stepper and sweating the extra steps. Anything to stay active and distract your time

doing an activity. Personal endurance. I am hoping that you can get through this. You will feel better and healthier and will really be worth your effort

and all. Be active as much as possible, move and physically sweat it out as well. Find that natural dopamine.

K.

Bye. More good luck to ya. I think you can do this. Keep trying whenever you can to get away from this.

Haha. And simile a lot and have that strong attitude. Yay. Go you !! You can.

140mg opium for breakfast 3 hours ago, beautiful sunny morning here just after 11am now

20mg more than my usual fortnightly-ish dose, but I've got a long day ahead hanging out with old hippy folkies doing their thing in a tea-tent at a quite lively open air smalltown market then later am off with family for a dolphin-spotting boat trip down the coast early evening, so have made sure that I'll be comfortable for the day

Will probably have a couple hits on a bowl of Blueberry OG flower that the fam are bringing before getting on the boat too. Would be rude not to

You should also determine what "staying clean" means to you. To most rehabs and docs it will mean full abstinence from everything. For you it might mean abstinence from opiates while still allowing yourself to, say, take a pregabalin if you want. Or maybe you want to quit everything except weed and alcohol (I can't remember if you smoke weed but it is just an example). Or maybe you do strive for full abstinence from everything. Point is, you should figure that out (if you haven't already) so that your choices in rehab and follow up care are aligned with your goals.

Good point. 🤔 Definitely worth thinking about... So far I'd say I have no issues with alcohol and don't have to say no all the time, and I don't intend to throw out the shrooms/lsd either. Maybe those two.
If alcohol becomes a problem I'll have to readjust.

Edit OT:
2,4 g red Kratom. Dose came down again - luckily.
