I don't believe I've had one in quite a few years. This morning I was informed by the drunk man child who lives below me that I screamed in my sleep last night. This is very traumatic for me. Night terrors growing up through early adulthood caused a major problem in my life. They fill me with deep guilt and shame. I had one in college where I kicked out the dorm window. The fact I can't recall of it is also deeply disturbing. In the past it was brought on by alcohol use, substance use, heavy eating or poor mental health prior to sleep. Now middle aged, I'm a poly drug user. My failed path is taking one drug one day and a different one the next.
Regarding the night of the terror. I ate some mixed nuts prior to bed. I was on my gabapentin which I thought was effective at keep night terrors away. Yesterday morning I took 4.5g of kratom after a decent 63 hour tolerance break. No Ativan yesterday. I don't drink anymore so I know it wasn't booze related. I also smoked some thc yesterday but I do everyday basically.
If anyone has experience with night terrors and can offer some tips, things you've found throughout the year that prevent them, please let me know. Is there a magic supplement that prevents night terrors?
