🗣️ General Discussion 🗣️ The Weather Thread

I was a Sizzler yesterday no rain. I went out to the Forks to sober up. I got too high

yesterday. Lol. Northern sphere Solstice style.☀️ It's a 'hard' tilt. 🤪 Hang on.

And they're out there. Watch me get 🎣. It's still a dreadful disgusting Summer up here.

I didn't have any luck with Winter this year either. Have a good day.

<3

Before those Sparrows start dropping of the roof by dehydration placed a bowl out. They found it ASAP. They are indulging in turns. Feel like i did my good deed for today royally
I fill several long and deep planter style pots with clean tap water, for watering my outdoor plants in the hot, dry weather.

I leave them 24 hours for the chlorine and other chemicals to evaporate off.

It was nice to see a magpie find the planters the other day, it gave out an excited/happy rattle as it spotted them. At least I assume it was happy and excited. It made more rattles after a taste test, another one after a full drink.

And then many rattles as it dunked itself right in there for a good old splash about. It seemed to be enjoying it a lot from all the rattling noises it was making.

I've noticed them make that noise before, when they've spotted water in my yard during hot, dry spells. I assume it's their happy noise.

But they probably make just the same noise, as far as I can tell anyway, when they are alarmed or spooked or in distress.

Seeing as it seems that pretty much the only noise wild magpies can typically make is the famous British magpie rattle, although I gather that some are amazing mimics, and can make many different sounds. :roll eyes:

Every cunt in town besides me seems to be off work and every cunt decided to eat out.

Idgaf if you're eating out during a 40c heatwave you're a terrible person.

Suppose I should be blaming my boss for opening the kitchen on a day like this. My second chef called in sick. Can't blame him really.

Cunt.

...

I think the heat is making me moody.

Well, back to the kitchen to cook some cunt a steak. Hope they don't choke.

Got up to the low 30s today. IN SCOTLAND!!!

On a personal level, we have all our windows open, all our curtains closed, fans blasting in every room, and the lowest temperature we saw indoors was 25 in the hallway.

Fukkin insane heat 8o

I survived the summer of '76.

Fuckin bunch of wetwipes...

Me too. But I one-up you cos I was a baby so more susceptible to heat than codgers like you 😛

We had the loudest cracks and rumbles of thunder I ever recall hearing around 5am this morning. I jumped out of my skin, at the first one, which woke me up. There was only a light sprinkle of rain afterwards, and things havent cooled down much.

I dunno why I watch Jacob Rees Mogg sometimes on youtube, I guess maybe I like to hear a range of views on things, but I strongly disagree with a lot of what he says.

He's so hypocritical sometimes in unbelievable, his video yesterday was going on about how lame Britain has become, over a bit of heat, and especially the trains and schools cancelling, he thought everyone should just carry on, and put up with it/ learn to put up with i t, in the case of the children.

I agree, up to a point.

But then he goes and spoils everything by saying that he enjoys the air conditioning he has in parts of his home (Ancestral mansion probably.) I think he used this to have a swipe at 'woke policies' against the use of fossil fuels, blaming the use of renewables on the excessive price of energy, and stating that as the reason the UK hasn't widely adopted air con in our homes.

Isn't it more about the greed and excess profiteering of the big energy companies?

Of course he didn't mention that!

my idea of hell being in a hot kitchen on days like these, you poor bastard
Inhuman having people work even during the day. Time for siestas !!!

close your windows, especially southish facing ones, it helps a massive amount.
That s the same sort of knowledge my Geography always used to gospel when hot close up instead of opening. Keep the heat out and cool in priinciple.

Wisdom,
