how dangerous is it to mix Gabapentin (10-15mg), diazepam (5mg), Kratom (5-15g), Trazodone (25-50mg)?

concerned for a friend, this is almost daily and sometimes with vodka in the mix.

it could be more of each substance but i have a rough idea

Hey @Alfonso_Camarga :sneaky: good for you for looking out for your friend. I'm sure that if I had friends, they would worry about me in the same way (sobs uncontrollably).

It is very difficult to make a judgement call when there are four different drugs in the mix. As you likely know, drugs affect us, they affect each other, they affect us in a way that then makes other drugs have a different affect... it gets complicated.

I'm going to guess you are meaning 100mg - 150mg Gabapentin? This drug does not come in such small doses.

The Diazepam (Valium) dosage of 5mg is really not anything to worry about. This is a very low dosage that many of us would not even feel.

Kratom, in short, is an Opioid agonist pretty much just like any other. It is relatively mild when it is consumed in raw plant form, though there is now a proliferation of very high potency extracts being sold as Kratom, namely 7-Hydroxymitragynine. There is a big difference between using Kratom leaf and using these synthetic analog products.

Trazodone is pretty harmless, especially at prescribed dosages. They prescribe it to people for sleep pretty frequently, though I never at all cared for it.

The biggest issue is the Alcohol. He is consuming relatively low dosages of the above-listed drugs, however, if he were to say, go on a severe binge and come close to Alcohol poisoning, I'm sure these relatively modest dosages, especially considering the synergy between Opioids, Benzodiazepines and Alcohol, then I do not doubt they could all comew together to create a letha;l situation.

It all really depends upon how much he drinks. That's the wild card here.

well for what it’s worth i care about you Keif you’ve helped me through some pretty dark times.. yeah i think that makes more sense regarding the gabapentin. And as for the Kratom i don’t exactly know what it’s been lately but i know they’ve take both that you mentioned, im really not sure what’s available in shops here, i know it’s easy to get those elixir shots in the US not sure about here though. the valium and the traz worried me the least because of the dose and just having exp with both but i’ve never combined the two. trazodone is the most pointless shit id rather chew gum i think. i appreciate you weighing in because when i did some searching i got a lot of caution CNS depression etc but thats pretty common with internet searches on mixing substances.. i will say i dont think these are giving any real euphoria or causes much relief.

fwiw

i wouldn't do it just cause it sounds like a horrible mix - to me
not scared of death just doesnt sound appetizing. 🤷

my sentiments

trazadone was useful when withdrawing from benzos for me a few years back.
yeah when i got off booze it was helpful, couldn’t get hard to save my life at age like 26 but it definitely helped

it didn’t look appetizing it looked like it was causing some serious disarray that’s why i posted this, just seemed like unsettling

This might be kind of irrelevant, but here I go. We are talking about Trazodone. I understand it has been and still is prescribed extensively for insomnia. I feel it is the dirtiest, worst way of obtaining sleep. It never made me feel good and I would feel sluggish the next morning. It is an antipsychotic. Just like how "antidepressant" is a simplification at best and a downright deception at worst, "antipsychotics" in my opinion are anesthetics of the central nervous system. It numbs you, slows you down and prevents people with Schizophrenia from bothering their families. I think it is pretty known and understood that the only measurable, desirable effects of antipsychotics are in the end, a more pliable, quieter, less annoying patient.

I have a major issue with how these drugs are used, but I won't get any farther into that.

Clonidine (Catapres) for sleep is completely underutilized. I bet you any person who is taking Trazodone for sleep who then tried Clonidine would prefer the latter. There are no unwanted psychoactive effects. It is a non-habit forming, non-psychoactive sedative. The medical field apparently would rather use an antipsychotic for mild sleep issues, which I think is stupid.

This has been an advertisement for Clonidine. "Talk to your doctor about taking your sleep back. Clonidine, grab the sheep by the horns" (because sheep are associated with sleep...)

For years, I have taken clonidine for insomnia. It is the only medication that quiets my mind at night and allows me to fall asleep ;-}
