Experiences I think about god, faith, religion etc a lot

It is interesting how the bible frames Adam & Eve being cast out of the garden of eden. God's one rule is not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. So Adam & Eve eat from the tree, their entire perception of the world and and themselves changed. Godlike innocents is gone, the veil of deception is lifted and for the first they each other naked, I think the bible says they were ashamed of their nakedness? Anyway god called out to them and they hid because they guilt and remorse for disobeying god...the only relationship they had going at the time was with their creator.

So now Adam & Eve have been exposed to a world, a concept, a place god was trying to protect them from...or so it seems. The bible frames this as Adam & Eve disobeying god and being cast out into a world of sin and degradation. The bible version makes me feel bad for disobeying and being punished for my disobedience, humanity is cursed from that moment on by sin. The only remedy is conveniently made possible through your local faith-based religious affiliation who happens to support the only way to salvation through Jesus Christ.

During the course of one's life you are given an opportunity to know god through Jesus. Maybe you're going through a rough time, and the way western civilization knows how to make you feel better is by surrounding yourself to Jesus, the light of the world. Emotions come into play, you are moved by set and setting. Out of desperation and desire you commit yourself to god's service. Now you are a part of something greater than yourself, you participate in what this new social venture has to offer. The more you participate the deeper you are convinced you and others like you are special. You are the chosen hand picked by god to carry out gods will in every aspect of your life.

The more you immerse yourself into becoming like Jesus, studying gods word, attending worship services, the more and more you do these things the less likely you will question gods will for you. Christianity covers all of the bases to prevent heresy. The bible is very explicit in warning gods people not to stray away from him. God's wrath is seen throughout the Old Testament, these examples of gods rage were not written by coincidence, they send a message to every believer who questions or doubts god will.

The other thing is if it happens, it is gods will, or it was meant to happen. This is magical thinking and gives the impression no matter what kind of shit show you go through in life, don't worry god's got you covered. I leaned a long time ago, I am responsible for my own life and with that responsibility I am likewise accountable for everything that involves me.
This is most convincing rebuttal I’ve ever read. Great analytical reasoning. You articulate in a way that promotes real understanding. I’m gonna use this to do some self reflection and weed out any unconscious bias. After reading the points you’ve made now I am gonna have to remind myself thoroughly of why I believe differently. If you don’t mind…I’ll be back. But thank you for having this convo with me. I’m always willing to discover that I’m wrong. ❤️

Cause this is actually very important because a lot is at stake. If anyone comes to the conclusion that there’s no God they better hope they’re right. And vice versus. This is definitely something we don’t wanna be wrong about.

Sometimes people are less afraid of suffering than they are of becoming fully responsible for what they could become. I know I am.

Sometimes I scare myself too death of what I could become capable of lol

You write very well and bring up some good points. From what you said it seems you are correlating God with the bible and secular beliefs.

I don’t personally believe everything written in the bible is divinely inspired. The bible was written by men, not God. We have no idea why the verses that are in the bible were chosen to be included. I personally find the words of Jesus inspirational, and I enjoy some of the Psalms and the book of Job, which I find fascinating. I also like quite a few verses in the other various books of the bible, but I certainly don’t believe in everything that’s written in the bible.

I can’t explain why I believe here, it’s not something that can be written down and I am not trying to convince anyone. I did want to point out here though that belief in God and belief in the bible as written is not the same thing.

One thing that I think you are saying that I agree with is that we have to follow our own conscience. Imagine for one moment that God wasn’t wholly good and asked us to do something evil. Would our allegiance be to God or to goodness and truth? Of course our allegiance would remain to goodness and truth. So we don’t need to ask who this mysterious God is, what we need to know is the difference between goodness and evil and choose good. And there God will be also.

That's the thing, if religion were truly about development and growth they would encourage questioning and scrutiny, after all a true learning institute would be person centered, not a clone of conformity. There are several reasons why individuality is discouraged, a tribe of like minded people are more predictable and easily managed. Individual free thinking people are unpredictable, they are unique and most people are not prepared to engage with unpredictability.

Then we can learn the Gospel about Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Or make our own choice. It's up to you and you can choose.

Unless that is not the Path.

Bye, again. I thought I already did leave on the other page.

I hope that you have a Blessed Day and you can to Choose.

My wife does daily devotionals, she reads the bible and attends women's bible study. Recently, I asked her why she read the bible, her response was to learn.
This struck me as odd, I don't understand this based on my understanding of self. I am fully content with who I am, I don't need instructions or guidance, I am full and complete, should I decide something is lacking in me or needs improving I will address the problem or issue on my own terms, not because the moral majority dictates who I am or how I live.

It's just to dig deeper into the heart of Salvation. That is All !!!

It's just to dig deeper into the heart of Salvation. That is All !!!
Correct me if I'm wrong, I understand salvation as forgiveness to be able to commune with god. The idea is god cannot bare sin of any kind, salvation through Jesus sacrifice cleanses our sins away.

My take on salvation and sin came into being as way to ensure church attendance, like a business model. Religion presents a problem by inventing sin, The church presents the solution, Jesus. Religion profits because they are the only solution to mankind's problem--sin. The church prospers by people renewing their faith, giving tithes, support and themselves as part of god's plan. It's a tax deductible win-win. The congregation feels good about themselves, social needs are met, and human services established and sponsored by the church help people and community.

I DON'T CARE !!!

All I care about is my relationship with the Gospel.

Go learn if you want to like I had to .... and if you don't want to care and hear about and read about it
then don't because it's my own business of my relationship in my own heart.

I learned on my own from before. When I used to HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE.

Don't wanna learn Don't then. My business My heart and My Relationship. Then.

Go find someone nicer to explain it to you.

Go Gaslight someone else. My relationship is my OWN.

You are the chosen hand picked by god to carry out gods will in every aspect of your life.
But the typical Christian doesn’t feel chosen. You’re too smart to not realize that the bible also teaches that a true Christian knows that the only thing they contribute to their own salvation is the sin that makes it necessary. What you’re talking about is self righteousness and you’re right. Spiritual pride and self-righteousnes has many Christians deceived.

But oh how precious a soul must be if both God and the devil are after it. Does that kinda life sound familiar??

Until the lion finds his voice every story will glorify the hunter.

I’m just gonna go by my gut and just be blunt

I feel like you might be running from a calling. Maybe God has plans specifically for you and that’s why you think about this a lot. I know it’s scary. Especially when you truly aim to be accountable. I bet your wife is your biggest prayer warrior. You’ve amazed me lol. I have mad respect for you just from my interactions with you in this thread. I think you know what’s going on. You gotta remember that God doesn’t call the equipped. He equips the ones He’s called. You are already more than capable. We are living in the very last minutes of the last days of Noah. I think Gods started calling on His remnants to rise. Theres been a remnant army quietly being assembled….a remnant of people that have been living a hard battle but overcoming Satan by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. Just like Paul after his conversion…the Lord has been preparing those He has kept for this season. They’ve been built for the coming times. These people might not necessarily be seen by society as those that are favored by God. They might not be the typical Sunday Christian. These are people that serve the God of their church and not the church of their God. They’ve learned to accept Christ’s righteousness instead of trying to establish their own religious self-righteousness through church rituals and programs. They stand on God’s word and not the word of man. Political correctness is not part of the character. They just simply love the Lord with all their heart and acknowledge Him in all their ways, even when they’re struggling to please Him. Even tho they’re sinful by nature they know that they are saved by that amazing grace. It’s because they understand that at conversion the righteousness of Christ was put on them. So despite their failures and weaknesses they still continue to give God all the glory. They remain blessed because they are pleasing to God because of their faith. The bible says over and over, that without faith it is impossible to please God.

I could be wrong but I’m just saying. If you’ve been wrestling with the feeling of being called upon by God then here’s your sign. It’s time for you to answer Him.

And I guess this also answers my own questions. How do I know God is real??? Because where did all of this come from?? Definitely not from me. I’m a wreck. But I’m willing to be a vessel.

I didn’t mean to turn this into a debate.

I’m not trying to judge anyone. I’m just inspired by you. But I don’t wanna argue. I understand where you are coming from. You don’t owe me any explanation. Mad respect❤️

I’m done lol
