Dosing holding in hits for 3 seconds was a myth

ahh little fucker although tbh i probably deserve it. its been a long time jibult good to see your still around
i'm still aliiiiivvvvvveeeeeeee

but work is steadily trying to change that, i swear

Sorry for the slight misread - if someone in there 30s were dying of COPD from marijuana I would be interested to know.

What attitude? I thought it was pretty kind to say since you cared to share that info may I ask --- where was the attitude? Again sorry I read it as you were close to death from copd, not you knew someone who was.

I think most of us over 30 have known a few ppl with COPD -- my pops outlived his diagnosis by like 8 yrs and it was still only a contributing factor. Spose I knew someone close to dying from COPD as well -- I will not hesitate to share the cause was over 2 packs of cigarettes a day between 14 and 60 however ---- which makes the whole anecdote off topic, yes? Was yours off topic as well? (More polite way to ask?)

He said what he thought he said --- I misread slightly and my question reflects it; again apologies for that.

Sorry @Ddeeee that you almost lost anyone close to you for any reason; believe me no disrespect was intended! Much the opposite I got alot of empathy -- friend just lost a mother from COPD couple months ago

Most certainly was not trying 'Gaslight' anyone -- what I wold consider gaslighting is suggesting that you gunna die young of holding in pot smoke too long based on a cigarette smoker COPD story.

jeez, everything's an argument with you, isn't it? 😜

it's funny how everyone thinks gaslighting can only be the prime example they hold in their mind.

From Sir Google, of the world wide web:

Gaslighting is a form of persistent psychological manipulation and emotional abuse designed to make a victim doubt their own memory, perception, reality, or sanity. It is used to gain power and control by causing the victim to depend on the perpetrator, often employing denial, lying, and trivialization.

So yes, your example falls under the umbrella of gaslighting but it isn't the umbrella. I was just kind of joking around about it but you're definitely half-guilty, whether intentionally or through sloppy reading comprehension. Just don't be persistent about it and you've got plausible deniability, I guess? I think?

maybe

To me a normal breath cycle and holding it in for 5+ seconds didn‘t make that much of a difference, something still told me to hold it in but yea, especially bong fucked my lungs so fast I put that thing away for goods now. Sucks that my vaporizer broke down fully and I can‘t get a new one but I don‘t crave weed nowadays anyway, stopped for a few months.
Difference between vaporizer and bongs and joints was HUGE. I would tell everyone to get a vaporizer it‘s significantly better than combustion.

guilty by way of over looking the word 'seen' --- not trying to gaslight anyone lol

Now the thing to note is that Δ9-THC is a highly viscous (Newtonian) ultra-high-viscosity supercooled liquid so it's physical properties can be modified significantly due to impurities. I've read pure Δ9-THC has a melting-point of 25-27°C BUT if the pure material is tested, it can be as high as 45-47°C. The boiling point cannot be found under STP due to thermal decomposition but in a vacuum (0.02 torr) it's recorded as around 270°C.

So with that in mind I believe that when the term 'melting point' is used, in fact it's more accurate to consider it as the glass-transition temperature.

I apologize for only providing two hyperlinks to academic papers but it's not hugely studied. I don't pretend to have applied critical thinking so there could be confounding factors. I'm sure there must be earlier animal models (such things are often very poor guides and to me are immoral as almost nobody will ever inhale JUST Δ9-THC).

But if someone want's to use an appropriate search engine then use Sci Hub to provide easy to use hyperlinks to such papers, it's possible there MAY be additional data.

OT UK law has (or at least had) a really bizarre loop-hole in that when the madness of going to war on a potentially infinite number of chemicals, to keep it simple we simply list Δ9-THC and products containing same. My wife visited Amsterdam a few years ago and a very helpful young lady in Der Dampkring (The Atmosphere)* advised the group that Δ8-THC edibles were legal in the UK.

Prices were broadly the same as products containing only Δ8-THC.

So if I got that right the study implies that holding tobacco smoke does more than holding pot smoke? Did I interpret that one right...

I did not expect 0 to be right but there ya have it

I just realized I missed the MOST important thing.

That all liquids have a 'vapour pressure' which is to say that the pressure of the air is preventing it ALL being in the gaseous phase. As it is, a liquid's vapour pressure tells us what proportion will be a gas at STP.

I imagine it's going to take people a lot of 'deprogramming' to learn that Δ9-THC is just gagging to settle out.

Being so ridiculously lipophilic makes it a great example of a class in which the RO5 or 'druglikeness' of a compound totally fails to explain why the stuff is (so) active.

OT: Did others watch that BBC science programme in which an (intreped) BBC journalist is injected with a mixture of Δ9-THC & CBD on the first day and goes on to have a laughing fit and generally feel wonderful? Then what Δ9-THC alone did to her?

We noted that as selectively bred forms of cannabis began to appear in the 1990s, how many more young people were winding up in psychiatric units.
