This is user shortjazzdude. I don’t remember my log in information as it’s been ten years since I’ve posted here.
First of all, I’m very sorry if this doesn’t belong on these forums but I could think of no better place to ask this than blue light.
Way back when I did some creative writing where I made up another species of human that lived on another planet. This species had their own fictional psychoactive plants they used with their own unique effects. Though I know the effects of these plants I wouldn’t be able to create the molecules of their respective chemicals, though I can describe the effects and even the possible receptors they act on. If anyone can help me design them I’d be very appreciative. The molecules are a work of fiction and do NOT have to be active in real life.
Plant #1 has a chemical that causes effects similar to either the manic phase of bipolar or the mental effects of testosterone or anabolic steroids (mood lift, increased energy, confidence boost, hyperactivity, increased libido, impulsivity, etc). I first thought about making this chemical a phenethylamine but it doesn’t have effects similar to amphetamine. So I’m thinking about making it an analogue of testosterone. Maybe a testosterone molecule with another functional group attached (eg methylenedioxytestosterone). What do you think would look good?
Plant #2 has a chemical that may be more difficult to create. It’s effects are similar to nitrous oxide (dissociation, light headedness, sedation, abstract thinking, etc) with visuals reminiscent of zolpidem or muscimol (things moving and slightly growing and shrinking, etc). So this chemical will likely act on both nmda receptors and gaba receptors. I’m not sure what the molecule would look like. What can you come up with?
Again this is all fiction and the molecules don’t have to actually be active in real life. Thanks for your help!
