Can you please help me design these fictional psychoactive molecules?

This is user shortjazzdude. I don’t remember my log in information as it’s been ten years since I’ve posted here.

First of all, I’m very sorry if this doesn’t belong on these forums but I could think of no better place to ask this than blue light.

Way back when I did some creative writing where I made up another species of human that lived on another planet. This species had their own fictional psychoactive plants they used with their own unique effects. Though I know the effects of these plants I wouldn’t be able to create the molecules of their respective chemicals, though I can describe the effects and even the possible receptors they act on. If anyone can help me design them I’d be very appreciative. The molecules are a work of fiction and do NOT have to be active in real life.

Plant #1 has a chemical that causes effects similar to either the manic phase of bipolar or the mental effects of testosterone or anabolic steroids (mood lift, increased energy, confidence boost, hyperactivity, increased libido, impulsivity, etc). I first thought about making this chemical a phenethylamine but it doesn’t have effects similar to amphetamine. So I’m thinking about making it an analogue of testosterone. Maybe a testosterone molecule with another functional group attached (eg methylenedioxytestosterone). What do you think would look good?

Plant #2 has a chemical that may be more difficult to create. It’s effects are similar to nitrous oxide (dissociation, light headedness, sedation, abstract thinking, etc) with visuals reminiscent of zolpidem or muscimol (things moving and slightly growing and shrinking, etc). So this chemical will likely act on both nmda receptors and gaba receptors. I’m not sure what the molecule would look like. What can you come up with?

Again this is all fiction and the molecules don’t have to actually be active in real life. Thanks for your help!

This one's even stronger. I call it Super-Gamma-Ketamine. https://ibb.co/d4Fv8wcQ
Love it! I may actually use the first one if that’s ok, but maybe with the ketone and chloride removed from the ketamine group to make it look a bit different than ketamine. Though on second thought, maybe the super gamma would do the trick. Also, does ketamine feel like nitrous? The only dissociatives I’ve done are nitrous and dxm. I’d love it if you could also make a molecule for the first chemical. Maybe a testosterone molecule with another functional group or two added on. I really appreciate you doing this for me.

Team up with David Nutt.

He's implying that I'm the nutty Professor. Because I'm the King of Hypothetical Chemistry around here. He doesn't even know my name anyway, My name is Sean M.

I've been doing some creative writing lately and I've been working on a similar concept. There is a drug that grants (for lack of a better word) super powers to the users. Most users are not aware that it's actually a drug though and the source of said drug will eventually be revealed to be something very bad.

It's part of a story I'm working on with a magic system I've come up with. Where there are two countries that used to be one country that are divided kind of like North and South Korea. The people on the front lines of the somewhat cold war on both sides think they're fighting for justice/the right cause. But in the end it's revealed that powers behind the scenes are using them to keep the general population of both countries under strict control and in reality the powers that be on both sides are one in the same.

I haven't given it a name yet or come up with a list of effects (both negative and positive). But the gist is it grants the unknowing users powers they already had. The drug mostly serves as a short cut and way to keep the users addicted and under control. Since the powers that be do not want them and the general population to discover that it's possible for everyone (well most everyone) to do those feats without the use of the substance. Well one side will be taking it as a straight up exiler/pills. The other side doses it covertly through wearable technology. Which really just subtly injects the substance into their bodies over the course of a day/night. Using the drug shortens your life span and eventually drains the user's life force. In the end they are actually harvested to produce more of the substance after being put through horrible torture.

The reason both sides have a different ROA is because one is technologically advanced compared to the other. Well they're kind of in a stalemate. But one side practices the "old ways" of pure magic while the other claims to have left the old ways behind but in reality they're just using technology to do the same things. At least as far as 99% of the characters know that's the way it is.

The two countries are isolated from the rest of the world. They split because one side joined up with a large world power while the other side didn't want to subjugate themselves and become a vassal state. So it revolted and started a civil war. This war eventually led to a stale mate and the other side also isolating itself from the rest of the world in time after the large world power they'd joined up with refused to share technology with them that would have helped them end the war quickly (and they figured out they were being used/setup for eventual invasion).

I've been working on this story for about 2 years now but it's slow going. Creative writing at novel lengths was more difficult than I thought it would be so I've started over multiple times and re-worked the entire world building and magic/tech system after writing myself into more than a few dead ends over the past two years. But I'm hopeful I'll have sometime worth showing other people by the end of this year. My original goal was the write it over the course of one year and now once year has turned into 2.

The main thing I've learned is that writing dialog for characters is really really hard. Especially when they're nothing like you.

Coming up with pretend drugs is fun.

That sounds pretty cool!

He wasn't implying you o4lr that you're the nutty Professor.

He meant Professor David Nutt, in a joking way, cause Professor Nutt has tried coming up with legal sedatives as alternatives to alcohol here in the UK but the Psychoactive Substances Act killed that idea along with the rest of the current political landscape.
